- Martin Guitar D-28 Satin Amber Burst DEMO | NEW for 2023! In this Martin Guitar DEMO, Spoon Phillips discusses & demonstrates the NEW Martin D-28 Satin Amberburst. The D-28 Satin Amberburst is the same as the legendary D-28, with the only difference being the satin finish on the back, sides & top, vs the gloss finish found on the current standard D-28 Ambertone. Does the satin finish make an audible difference? We invite you to see for yourself. Check out our comparison video: Martin D-28 VS D-28 Satin Ambertone here:

Very nice. Great demo and a great job by C.F. Martin & Co. Don't need another guitar, but its on my list of acoustics :)
Rock on!
Sounds amazing !
Thank you !
Spoon that’s a lot of guitar sounds and looks amazing 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
:)
Beautiful
Thanks!
I know glossy guitars always sell better, but have always personally preferred satin finishes; both sonically and visually. Gloss guitars do tend to record better, but it's hard to beat a satin guitar in the room. Imho of course.
Thank you, Ken.
Wonderful! Do you think on a spectrum of D 28’s that this is on the side that sounds more like a D 18 than a gloss D 28 does. I think the satin that has open airiness of it gives off less overtones and gives a bit more of a mahogany leaning sound. What you think Spoon and Maury; am I crazy?
Would this sound the same as the street legend and the satin models of the D-28 also released at the same time as this?
Yes sir
Same old Martin D28!!!
:)
Pretty dreadnought, I can't wait to hear about more new guitars from Martin.
Thanks, Rosslyn! 👍
