I've been listening to Rings of Saturn for a few years now, this album took me a little bit of getting used to. I loved Mental Prolapse on release, I loved the Husk immediately, when I saw them in October in LA and got myself a copy of Gidim, I didn't fall in love the rest of the songs until recently. It took me what, 7 months? To wrap my head around the rest of the album. That is, in my opinion, a hallmark of great musicianship - music that you need to think about and repeatedly listen to in order to understand, enjoy, and share. You can't listen to an album in a day and understand it. Or a week, or a month. But their music is fantastic, and I love (almost) every one of their songs. Rock on man!
The only original member is Lucas Mann. Or you could call him Lucas "mega" mann lol. I see a lot of confusion with the composition. All those 8 bit sounds are the guitars. You should check out their plauthroughs
Dude, I listen to it while driving to work at night, it's awesome haha. I saw them perform this track in Ottawa (Canada) this week and all of the members were great, especially the guitarists and drummer. It's amazing how fast they go. Another great song by them is "Desolate Paradise", and if you're looking for great instrumentals from them, I highly recommend "The Heavens Have Fallen" and "The Macrocosm"; they're sometimes groovy and sometimes melodic while also having very fast drumming in the background occasionally.
Fuck me,what warp speed were they trying 2 reach? On a side note Shane,my sides were splitting from laughter over your commentary on this 1. Bloody hell that DMT,taking you down to dirty town comment.....comedy gold 😂😂😂👏👏👏
I saw these guys last year in germany. I was stunned that they sound exactly and i mean exactly like on the record. Absolutely perfekt, no mistakes. Mind blowing. The vocalist looked and acted like he was possessed, but it was very fitting.
Your reaction is so funny. Hahahahaha... Man, keep this. The band is awesome, when I have see the name and sounds, looks like Alien Core style. Sorry my English.
John Lucas I actually watched them live on here after this. Great musicians, terrible singer. Had a hard time hearing a groove that landed. Like if grind jazz core was a thing. My opinion.
@@TrevyTrev-andTheFunkyPets Well there is definitely a groove through the whole thing. I guess it's an acquired taste, and I love the vocals, but you know opinions are like assholes, everyone had one lol
Not the same three guys, the lineup has changed a few times. And the reason it sounds like it's from a video game is because that's the style they've gone for from the very beginning 😁

i agree, gidim was a bit of an acquired taste for me at first, but I kept finding myself coming back to it and enjoying it more each time.
Also the song did end, it started playing their other new single The Husk. Lol
*Edit: You figured it out lol
7:53 OMFG HAHAHAHAHA XD

Absolutely love these dudes. Another reason I love that song, it sounds exactly like an old NES game.
I remember the first time I heard Rings of Saturn. I was absolutely blown away. Your reaction reminds me of when I first heard them!
