Still don't think that a silent protagonist cannot have an arc. Joker and Makoto both clearly have an arc, it's just tied to the players emotional implication and understanding of the game and so people who keep distancing themselves from the game cannot properly appreciate it. That being said, a more specific protagonist with his own voice is appreciated variety from this studio
I think you definitely raise a good point, and I didn’t necessarily mean persona specifically. I do feel like persona is the one time where the protagonist should be silent because of what you said and how just it’s supposed to be the players self insert in the lifesim aspect as well. I more so meant like I don’t think it necessarily serves a lot of their other games very well.
I think this game will have a lot to say politcally as well with the nature of leaders in our culture, political turmoil, and Racism being heavy themes in this game. The warnings when booting up the game alone tell me that there is to be some crazy stuff happening in the game.

The creator does not encourage or condone real life violence taken towards the governement or religious organizations. This tells me that the game is going to have some strong messages about these organizations if this is a potenital issue.
It's right up my alley. I love it. I'm already hooked. I'm picking it up ASAP. I was debating what game I want to jump into after finishing visions of mana. I think Metaphor just skipped the line.
Once you get into the first major dungeon I fell in love with this game . The entire prologue is very clunky though and it would have benefitted from explaining the events in the past instead of jumping between various points . The gameplay loop is fantastic and the customization will be insane with that 4th party member we never got in the demo .
I’m so exited for this game that I am just watching random UA-camrs talk about for hours now. I wish we had it now. Hopefully it does really well because I prefer this way more than regular Persona . SMT is more my jam but even this I liked more
I’ve also been watching a ton of other videos on it to hold myself over until it comes out. Too bad it’s having the opposite effect and making the wait harder!
One thing I like is when you max out a certain archetype, instead of wasting AP you get an item worth 1000 app every time after is levels up. This means you don’t have to worry about losing out on progress just cause you are using your best archetype .

I think, for me, it's probably the least interesting prologue of a Persona/SMT that I've played. That being said, I still thoroughly enjoyed it and I will be playing on release because the things that were introduced have my curiosity piqued highly. I guess that's to say, the events that occurred in the prologue didn't grip me as much as, say, that same amount of time investment into P3, P4, P5 or Digital Devil Saga or something. But the promise of what's to come in the future DOES have me eager to see what happens next.
I miss the demon fusion so much, that's one of the things that makes me like Digital Devil Saga less than mainline (and the three-character party lineup), I am still very excited to keep playing though, and I like the fact that it seems the combined attacks will be more useful here than they were in DDS. I think this is by far the strongest prologue in any SMT game (except for Nocturne and DDS), but I hope they continue to build on top of that on the full release, right now everything in the plot seems to lack any kind of nuance. It's also pretty heavy on the hand-holding, I can tell this is gonna be a fucking drag to replay, even more so than previous Persona games already were.
I love it! Played the demo on hard and it’s actually quite challenging which made me excited. My main problems are the constant loading screens and my god stop auto switching my equipment whenever I swap archetypes!!!! I don’t get why they do it, I want evade for example on my healer Will, but it was constantly putting on a different pair of boots whenever I made him a mage. Also the fact that you have to sit through enemy animations every time is a bit exhausting when you know that you can’t win the battle.
I'm so excited I can't contain it! I may explode in the next two weeks from how excited I am! Which sucks because then I can't play Metaphor: ReFantazio!
I loved it, i was so exciting just reading the memorandum, the story i think is going to be fantastic and has lots, lots of potentials to incredible plot twists. I loved smt, devil survivor, dds, strange redux and my fav SMT IV. I feel really good about this one, something I didn't feel with SMT V or Persona 5. I think the comparation with old games its not the best thing to do, as things changes and maybe is for the best. Not saying anything about fusions, I think this guys know what they're doing and until i have 50+ hours i'll keep my thoughts on that one.

Metaphor had me hooked from beginning to end of the demo just like back when I played the original releases Persona 3-5 for the first time.

Absolutely love this game. I play plenty of RPG but when it comes to turn base only game actually put time on is Pokémon which I love but this game is peak. I already put solid 12 hours in demo and restarted from the beginning when I was finished on my campaign in the demo the first time And the music just hits hard. It is a melody on my ears. Around 2024 I have been more interest in atlus persona series and especially metaphor, considering I love my fantasy settings of course besides metaphor demo I did play persona 3 the PSP version on a emulator personally want get persona 3 reload
also tbh persona days when you're not in a dungeon are... talk to someone, grind a social stat and go to sleep which you do in 2 minutes. I think the duration will be similar, also the new game potential is absolutely insane with that Regicide difficulty (probably unlocking after defeating a super boss like SMTV Vengeance, hopefully)

As someone who been playing countless jrpg's for the past 25 years. I couldn't get into this demo/game. Not because it's bad but it's the embodiment of every jrpg I ever played and gives off hard I'm 14 and this is deep vibes even for persona/smt standards. Playing the demo felt like a chore because I kept saying I heard this dialogue hundreds times before but in other games. It's very pretty and artistic but not by any means new. If you're new to jrpg's or in your mid 20s and just barely dipping your toes in the genre then yes this game is for you. But if you're a old fart like me you basically played this game dozens times before. It not bad but also not original.
The game is not bad but to me personally it was a jrpg bland sandwich. The bread is Ni No Kuni 2, the meat is Shadow Hearts, veggies is Wild Arms 3 and condiments is it own SMT games. I'm sure the game will be good but it won't be the next Chrono Trigger because on a surface level it borrowing so much from other games to be considered original. Flashy and pretty yes, original no.
Even if the story ends up not being original (which in my opinion is way to early to tell), I don’t really care as long as it still remains fun to play, as a celebration of all of these fantastic games
I felt that it was a bit too similar to persona 3,4, and 5 but without the school setting, demon fusing, and romance. The plot isn't that interesting to me. The soundtrack is ok but nothing home to write about or anything really memorable and characters in the demo weren't really interesting.

I can see the prologue feeling kinda slow on a replay, but for my first time through I was very much engaged for the most part
I think the pacing was fine and moved along in a way that captures the whirlwind of how chaotic the protagonist is feeling in all this
