Kumar sanu sir once said in a tv show why he recorded 28 songs in a day because he was going for a world tour for 2 or 3 months. Every director wants his songs so that their movie doesn't delay. So he sat in the studio to complete his commitment in a single day. And all the songs were superhit.

I can't believe Kuch na Kaho from the movie 1942 : A Lovestory didn't make it to the list. It is one of his best songs for me, and he had been oftenly asked on singing talent shows that he attended to sing this particular song. This song is like custom made for his buttery, masculine yet a voice full of warmth and tenderness. Kumar Sanu also revealed that it was the song for which he had to rehearse the most as RD Burman, it's music composer pestered him repetitively during the recording, to feel the song and the lyrics of it, to get the right tonality. Do definitely check out the song :)

I know Kumar Sanu is a legendary playback singer, but WOW didn't know he sang some of my fav BW songs. Love when Efra is always amazed by Aishwarya's beauty. 🙂 You guys should react to some Aishwarya movie songs from Dil Ka Rishta, Kyon Ho Gaya Naa, Devdas, HDDCS, Umrao Jaan, etc.
Fun fact, the 23 songs he recorded were of superb quality too. Even tho he rushed them by doing 2 takes at most he sounded like a legend. An example of one of the 28 songs is 'Ghunghat Ki Aad Se'
Kumar sanu singing was also unique as he had what we call "Long breath" and udit has "short breath"
Basically Udit would end his sentence as normal where as Kumar sanu would carry the last word/note for a few seconds.
Example:
Udit - "Raja ko rani se pyar ho gaya"
Kumar sanu - "Raja ko rani se pyar ho gayaaaaaaaaaaaa"
Last point, kumar sanu voice is actually deep, some songs are sung in higher notes but the audio playback from the early 90s movies (ie the clips you heard) were always in higher pitch maikng it sound alien, but in the original Cassette/CD the pitch was normal
now how to explain kumar sanu. 90s was kumar sanu such melodies we are stuck there singing the song even now.
That time legend singers like Asha, Lata, SPB etc was lived for music , Music is their only passion in life and they are purely devoted to it. That's why we always worship them. Like Tagore in Bengali (who is first Asian won Novel Prize) , in his death bed he still recited poetry and his relative wrote it down for him, he said he can't live without it. Pure gems they were. That is the thing today's music lacking in India, very few devoted to it and maximum wants commercial and fame.
There are many people who are devoted to it but they don't get same recognition anymore.

Kumar Sanu and Udit Narayan were THE voice of male actors they represent the 90s the golden era of Bollywood music and though i was born in 2001 because i grew up with a cousin who was born in the 90s because of him i mostly listened to his favourite songs and now those songs feels more nostalgic to me than the songs of the time when i grew up

He doesn't modulate his voice in different songs. He sounds same in all songs. Same irritating nasal constipated voice .Kumar Sanu is a monotonous nasal copycat autotuner singer. He is not versatile. He is just a cheap copy of Kishore Kumar so he is not unique. He became popular due to music mafia and bollywood politics

Kumar Sanu has a very limited vocal range. You'll notice that he sounds the same in just about every song as opposed to someone like KK who can go up and down the vocal ranges like nobody's business. However no one works within the range he's been given like Kumar Sanu. There's a reason he's the Legend because his voice immediately brings nostalgia in your mind, brings you back to those early nineties songs that topped the charts over and over again.
He hasn't been blessed with the versatility of some but he has managed to make gold out of what little he was gifted with. It's one thing to have a natural talent for singing, it's another to be relegated to specific songs that only fit with you vocal and range still manage to become the biggest singer of an entire decade. He is fantastic.
@@KrishanKumar-ec1ch Udit more than Sanu. Kumar sir in his own interviews has admitted that his vocal range is not that vast but his ability to use that limited vocal range to the best of his abilities is what makes him so amazing to listen to.
@@KrishanKumar-ec1chThat I agree.. His range is limited as compared to udit and much less if we include singers like sonu Or kk but he does make a great use of voice, genre and as you mentioned accents..
His real accent has a heavy bengali tone.. He doesn't even properly speak pure hindi, it is similar to how bappi lahiri used to talk but it never shows in his songs.. His songs have a pretty clean voice and accent and tone..
@@KrishanKumar-ec1ch yeah.. That's what I'm saying.. Kumar sanu's way of speaking is similar to that of bappi lahiri with that heavy bengali accent and tone but his songs has pure and clean hindi accent or if needed then other accents as well with a clean voice unlike bappi lahiri where it shows..
Although I do love bappi lahiri's songs and voice as well as that makes his songs unique and enjoyable..
