Jagjit singh was a tremendous singer, his genre is called ghazal they sing poetry mostly in urdu language, they touch multiple arguments ranging from love to existential question. You should check his songs from when he sang with his wife, in some sort those songs were "lighter". In his later life his song had a touch of melancholy and shifted to more spiritual content

By 2010 the new singers started to shine and take over. singers such as Arjit, Atif ad Neeti Mohan etc etc Alka Yagnik won the best singer for the song "Tumhi dekho na" from the movie "Kabhi alvida na kehna" in 2007 which was the last we saw of the Big 3. During her speech she mentioned how it was sad that real musical art has been lost and the melodious sound that mde Bollywood has been lost and replaced.
