The actor is who Mohammed Rafi Sahab sang a lot of songs for was Shammi Kapoor Sahab, Ranbir Kapoor's and Kareena Kapoor's Grandfather's (Raj Kapoor) brother, Welcome to the families of Bollywood as well 🙂
Yes , you can check "Dosti (1964) " movie , it's sad story but Amazing story which got IMBD rating 8.4 and 100% rotten tomato. Old classic movies are absolutely gems . There are so much lists for these old classic because maximum are so good that today's era can't move forward without remake it . I can guarantee you the people from every age group would be able to recognise most of these songs. Also imo mohd Rafi's best work is with music composer madan Mohan. They have recorded a lot of ghazals together. Unfortunately not many of those were included in this video.
Not true, we might recognise 10 of his songs, but these are all too old, anyone whi is born after 2000s might not be familar with these songs except a few very popular ones
@@kiyotakaayanokoji3410 dude 2005 kids are dancing on instagram reels, you might be into "music" as I said, I'm talking about general population. 99% of kids your age would not play these songs, and 90% won't even know who the singer is.

Well at last, Mohammed Rafi Sir is an enigma singer as my grandparents would say that they felt he did not realize himself how beautiful he sang, that he is one of the almighty's gifted chosen one and an actor's singer. Their favorite song of his, one of many was Tum mujhe yun bhula na paaoge (aptly meaning you cannot easily forget me) and when you listen to his songs you feel so. In our household growing up we listened to Rafi Sir, Kishore Kumar Sir, Lata and Asha Ma'am, Manna Dey, Mukesh Sirs and many more of the golden era, what melodious and meaningful music, tunes and lyrics and the immense talent of all the musicians. Wish those days would come back when music was less commercial and focused on the quality and value of the quantity churned out in today's times.
That actor you asked “who he was” is Shammi Kapoor, Kareena and Ranbir Kapoor’s Grand Uncle. He had a lot of personality and Rafi-Saab sang all his songs and became known as the voice of Shammi-ji. He often changed up his voice to match the many moods of Shammi ji.
I don't think there is any singer even in present generation who are not highly influenced by Rafi, Lata, Kishore and Asha. Also probably the only singer who commands the same respect as Rafi is Lata. These are absolute geniuses of Hindi film industry.
Many song of his are remade till now...And last 3 generation of my family from my granny to myself have been listrning his songstill date..❤❤ Loved you reaction...😊😊❤❤

On the other hand, thank you so much for reactions, brought a lot of memories back for me :)

I went into this only expecting to recognise like 15-20 songs (I'm only 22) but oml I know and love almost every single song on this list! Grew up listening to these at home, and had no idea so many of them were by him! Goes to show how iconic his discography is, and how versatile his voice is! And also how much our parents influence our taste in music
The magic of Rafi and other singers is not limited only to parents. Every music lover I know, still loves Rafi, Kishore kumar and other singers from the Black& White era...
I want to make a point efra that this each and every 100 song are that damn famous and influential to all generations till today's generation that today's genzis are make lots of reels of rafi sir songs and many are now pursuing classical singing it's very good
I loved this video❤thanks for reacting to it. My parents and uncles are really big fans of mohd. Rafi. They have a strong belief that no one can ever come to his level and remake what he did. Often in wedding occasions when different families gather together for singing most of the songs are of rafi sahab...everyone from both the old and new generations enjoy listening and singing his songs. It creates such an atmosphere where one can't help but close their eyes and get lost in the feelings. My cousins who are pursuing a singing career take him as a role model and teacher yeah..just wanted to share this with you guys😅.... as a teen i have huge respect for him.
Mohd Rafi is weaved into the fabric of Indian culture. He just seeps into your consciousness without you trying. My grandparents, parents, myself and my daughter have heard his songs. He’s not a singer. He’s an emotion
All the songs which were covered I grew up with when my parents used to listen to them, they hold very good memories for me and yes we still listen to them. ❤

Dosti is very good movie....it's the first movie my grandfather saw in theatres and almost 10 years back I was 12 then we saw it together and i literally cried watching the movie . And the songs of the movie are just wow
i was born in 2000 but i worship this music cause my mom made me love him and his music my parents worshipped these days music and the person you see as mohammed rafi voice is really considered the the voice of him. he has sung more than 25000 songs in different languages other than indian like english you can check that as well
I have been his fan since my childhood and still listening them. I am 52 now and lucky to listen his song for my entire life. He was the most versatile singer of Hindi Cinema.
It's sad that they have compiled a list of top 100 without a mention of "O Duniya Ke Rakhwale". That song, as Md Rafi had himself said on radio, took him 34 takes to sing it perfectly. One of the most difficult songs ever sung.
Was waiting for it too. My father told me that Md Rafi Saab injured his throat while signing this song and was warned against singing it with the same intensity in concerts by his doctors. His voice was taken for this song after all other singers were tried and failed to get that intensity. Maybe they were scared of the mental and physical scar of this song.
I swear to god if you listen to each of the song at its full length I would be here for the video. All of his songs are so iconic and heartwarming and memorable even for most of us who weren't born in that generation but still ended up falling in love with is voice and music..
now that is music. we would love to see you explore this era of bollywood music. i am 19 years old and grew up listening to all these. these songs have a place in my heart before any other ers songs not even the 90s or 2000s were this good. if only you could understand the lyrics of the songs that is where the magic of these songs lies
Whether you need to set the mood for a romantic evening or you are nursing a broken heart, there is a Rafi playlist for both. I particularly love his fun duets with Asha Bhonsle. I would recommend checking out their duets at length.
Most of the songs from this list are often listened by all bhartiya. Reason : most songs either played in wedding rituals or patriotic, and others are live singing in indian reality shows like Indian Idol, SA RE GA MA PA, THE VOICE Etc. So, people of every age group listen and love these songs.
Okay guys just for the context of telling you his influence in music. I am 2002 born and has listened to almost all the songs played in this playlist. Most of the people know his song and he is one of the Indian music legend
Finally you guys react to the legend. Probably the greatest playback male singer of Indian music industry. Some of the greatest movie scores have his songs like Pyaasa, Dosti, Guide, Hum dono and many more.
i didnt know until now...most of the old songs that i really liked were sung by him .... i mean our gen is quite informed/knowledable/or just know(dont know what word should be used) about the name and fame of moh rafi sir ..but were much knew which songs belonged to him that clearly(atleast i didnt)...but now i do know so thanks for this vedio❤
🙏 Thank you to you both for checking out Mohammed Rafi. Don’t think till now you’ve been able to appreciate his true & lasting impact on Indian music & film. Sadly he died too young in 1980, but his legacy of songs remains as popular as ever. All 100 songs were classics, yet so many others missed, including those with Lata - his best duets partner. Hope you will react to more of his songs in full. His unexpected International hit was ‘Jaan Pehchaan Ho’ a rocker from the 1960s film ‘Gumnaam’. It was used in a Heineken beer advert & became so popular. Many western singers have done cover versions. You will love the 60s film clip of this song 😊. Rafi forever 🙏❤️🙏.

You guys should listen to the complete songs in this list. Then only you can understand why they call him a legend❤
Thankyou so much for this reaction....I hope you'll react more on rafi sahab in future...
i was born in 2000 but i worship this music cause my mom made me love him and his music my parents worshipped these days music and the person you see as mohammed rafi voice is really considered the the voice of him. he has sung more than 25000 songs in different languages other than indian like english you can check that as well
I have been his fan since my childhood and still listening them. I am 52 now and lucky to listen his song for my entire life. He was the most versatile singer of Hindi Cinema.
Old movies, from the golden era of bollywood. Yesssss!!! YESS PLEASE
Hai duniya usi ki zamana usika , my all time fvrt
Tune mujhe pukara Shera waliye, shirdi wale saibaba, o mere Sona re Sona re, aye watan humko Teri Kasam theyall not in list
I was waiting for aaj purani raaho se.. Rafi Sahaab’s range in this song is gigantic
I swear to god if you listen to each of the song at its full length I would be here for the video. All of his songs are so iconic and heartwarming and memorable even for most of us who weren't born in that generation but still ended up falling in love with is voice and music..
What age ..... everyone knows his songs ....not bound with any generation 😊😊😊 Rafi ji is still the it guy
now that is music. we would love to see you explore this era of bollywood music. i am 19 years old and grew up listening to all these. these songs have a place in my heart before any other ers songs not even the 90s or 2000s were this good. if only you could understand the lyrics of the songs that is where the magic of these songs lies
Whether you need to set the mood for a romantic evening or you are nursing a broken heart, there is a Rafi playlist for both. I particularly love his fun duets with Asha Bhonsle. I would recommend checking out their duets at length.
You need to watch full song in this list, one by one , they are beautiful, then you learn how versatile he is, and other singer that time
I am 77 and Rafi is soul music.

I'm 90s kid ... Still Rafi ji in my blood ❤❤
Finally you guys react to the legend. Probably the greatest playback male singer of Indian music industry. Some of the greatest movie scores have his songs like Pyaasa, Dosti, Guide, Hum dono and many more.
Awesome songs..all of them...and so familiar to old and young Indians

Rafi Saab's songs are evergreen.
Each and everyone of that song is masterpiece! 💓
Suddenly i feel like old. every single song in that video made me smile. All songs were amazing.
The One and The Only Muhammad Rafi Saheb.. ❤ May ALLAH Shower HIS Blessings upon his soul Ameen sum ameen ❤
