Hey dude, I bought parts from you in mid summer and I wanted to tell you how happy I've been with the well written email shipment updates, the thoughtfulness that you put into it is really appreciated; I'm very happy with all of the goods, too 🤟🤟🤟
Continues to impress, when heavily upgraded with Taco Moto parts! ... the OEM bike was a joke, mine would not even stay running with stock ECU. gas tank way too small. exhaust melted my pants. can't bump start with a dead battery. factory seat hard as concrete and was torn on arrival. etc. ... had to buy multiple Taco Moto parts just to make the bike rideable. very happy to see you guys continuing to make so many improvements!!! ... keep on pushing those Baja mods to your storefront so we can follow along with upgrading our bikes!
It’s just so annoying that a bike that is so expensive needs so much work to make it rideable, what the hell? especially something as basic as seat comfort!
What is missing from your builds is the total retail cost and vehicle weight after mods. I understand you are in business to sell parts and a build like this is a good way to showcase them.
Yeah when he was talking about the rekluse… I have one for my kx450f off-road conversion, but honestly not really a thing I need. His bike is like every mod possible, lol.
I bought my Graves muffler from u guys and somehow lost the plug. Ive contacted Graves and they never responded. Do u know how i can get a replacement plug?
Sweet looking bike! I like the old school husky vibe especially the gold rims. LOTS of stuff on there...Must be a 30K bike easy. JMHO but I don't think I would take the weight penalty for less lighting even though it does look good. Lighting is a safety issue if you are riding at night.
I've seen holley have a fuel tank pick-up system that sort of looks like a mopp for car tanks ,looks like 4 flexible strands which soak up the fuel would work well in any tank
Pure bike porn! Can’t wait for the 15 or 17l tanks. Just need some luggage racks to be developed for the 24 now to make the Adv bike that I’m looking for.
I could get a 2022 low time or bite the bullet and spend 5k more on a 2024. 16g cad seems crazy for a dirt bike...but are the advancements of the 2024 that big of a step up?
I'm so on the fence about buying one of these. I also want it to be a do it all dual sport. I just don't want to run down an endless expensive rabbit hole. I'm also concerned about the vibrations I read about this bike. My Honda CRF300L is just not doing it for me.
What made you go with the linkage husky over the usual pds ktm you go with? Was it because you are driving more in open areas with higher speeds over whoops, and what not that made you go with the linkage fe 501? That would make total sense to me.
Hmmm. 501 is a good bike, but i do wish it vibed less. I wonder hiw hard it would be to fit a 390 motor in a 501 chassis and make the 390 enduro/adv the people always wanted?
Great video! Question are you an auto clutch only rider? I’ve ridden with an auto and just felt for tight single track (the majority of riding I do) it was not conducive. I’m assuming the auto is a better fit for the riding terrain you primarily ride? Very curious to know 🤔
Awesome video Mike, I'm following closely! Waiting for all those 24 year mods to be ready from tacomoto and ims tank! Also I've got the xl comfort seat and have raced hard Enduro on it. If anything the only disadvantage is that luggage kind of squishes the wide parts and its more prone to being cut by rock or logs when you drop it, it sticks out a bit. I cut mine on a rock.
I was told my by local suspension tuning shop to leave the forks alone for now, and put some time on the bike, as they are stiffer than past versions but to replace the rear spring to match my riding weight of 220lbs, which was 2 spring sizes up if I recall. Would you agree with that assessment?
I bought fork and rear spring to match. Why wouldn’t you? Haven’t installed yet. Riding around on stock just to get familiar and will put in new springs when it warms up a little bit and I can find the time.
I am 59 yr old ,long time rider- fan of your knowledge,if I ever get the chance I will have you build me a copy of your bike 😅 I do none these ride's you talk about but is a dream of mine since my first no suspension no breaks 70s mini bike, thank you for sharing ❤
Love your vids, Mike, always insightful. I've been updating my '24 500 EXC as new parts have rolled out. Concerning tanks, IMS said they were working on their big Husky tank first and that a 4 - 4.5 gal tank for the KTM would come out later, so I went with the Acerbis 15L tank. Looking forward to your work on the pump.
Excellent content Mike! I always learn from your videos, thanks for sharing your experiences! That was the best explanation of why a steering stabilizer is necessary, especially for a rider like myself!
I’ve been debating on switching to a mousse from tubes, but I’m worried about prolonged street exposure. I’ve been using my KTM 500 excf on TAT and BDR type of rides and sometimes that’s required me to ride on the road for extended stretches. Sure would be nice not to have to worry about getting a flat tire though.
Hey Mike, I know ims is working on a 4.5 gallon tank. Do you know if Acerbis is working on something bigger than the 2.9 they have now? A four gal tank like the one they just came out with for the ktm would be sweet
Quick Q for you, Mike. You mention the Power Commander as your second pick for upgrade. In your mind, is it worth it for me, or should I just stick with the OEM ECU and map switch? Specs: I run a 2021 FE450 (EU model, as I live there), bought used in 2022 from a guy who does Enduro on a reasonably high level and wanted to model up. Meaning I don't have any legally imposed doodads other than the EGR and some sort of muff that came along with a bunch of other spare (removed) parts. As for riding, I'm lucky to scrape up a week to go ride a TET, otherwise its dirt roads/double track, as off road riding is illegal where I live. Thoughts?
best thing about your videos right now, I can simply track my build along the same lines! keep up the great updates
On your 350 Ian or are you working on something new?
@@andrewpocock1234 I bought a 2024 FE501...
@@andrewpocock1234got himself a 500 as well if you hadn’t seen by now. 🏍️💨
if only big rock Moto knew how to ride all those bikes like a man and not a slow old weenie with a diaper on
Great video, very helpful,
The gold rims sure add nostalgia to the build. Now, when is KTM/Husky gonna give us a tool free quick release for the seats?
Did you jump ship on the Beta 500RR-S?
Need to do a beta update video!
Great job Mike! Did you do anything different to ensure your 501 does not overheat in Hard Enduro conditions? Was gearing a challenge?
Rekluse 4.0 cx
Maxima pro plus 4 oil
Taco moto oil filter

The Best!!! Your ability to explain and create media is always worth my time:). Much Thanks

Unicorn bike... Here it is, up close

Would you mind making a list of all the parts used in this build on your website?
Mines totally stock atm. I think all I need is new tires.
I think the beta a better deal less mods just as good or better
I've seen holley have a fuel tank pick-up system that sort of looks like a mopp for car tanks ,looks like 4 flexible strands which soak up the fuel would work well in any tank
I just wonder if it would be too large since its meant for a car tank, I know exactly what you're talking about
Thanks for the info Mike, especially on the steering stabilizer....keep the rubber side down...

What size airmousse in that 120 Shinko?

Still awaiting very impatiently for the in depth 2024 KTM EXC-F 500 no one does it like you brother, come on!
everything that's discussed here is the same same for the orange and red versions of this machine
How much lighter is 500exc?
Good morning! How close are you guys to having ECU/performance kits for the FE350w? Been enjoying my 2024 but it certainly could be uncorked a bit.
From your experience testing what tire & Bib setup would you choose for Vegas to Reno or something similar on the FE501?
Looks like AIRmousse makes a lot of different models. Race performance, long life performance, Enduro, soft, MX?
You guys always do the Hondas and the Ktms, would a wr450f built like this be feasible for what you do?
I'm so on the fence about buying one of these. I also want it to be a do it all dual sport. I just don't want to run down an endless expensive rabbit hole. I'm also concerned about the vibrations I read about this bike. My Honda CRF300L is just not doing it for me.

Nice Mike!
That’s my next bike.
Got a te300i and Norden 901 expedition but the 500/501 IMO is the best single bike.

Do you have a link for those Footpegs? I'd like to try them in a snowbike application
What size is your front tire? Is that the ST or IT? How does it track on the asphalt? Thx!
Can’t wait to see the bike with the Heritage graphics. I loved the way my 1984 Husky WR500 looked.

What would you recommend are the first mods to get as far as performance. Get ECU and exhaust? I just picked up a 24 500 6 days.

Tubliss. You aren't supposed to ride em on the street, but let's just say that nothing bad happens if you do.

Nice job!!
De Rated? Torque values?
Good looking whip! Nicely done.
whats in the bags @2:26 lol
Would you be willing to share your route from Vegas to Phoenix?
We made up the route as we went along using google maps and onx Offroad app
I'm all in with the HELLA light look!

May I ask you a question I Have trouble to find the steer dumper, shock absorber for my new Husky 501 FE. Which one you mounted?
Hi. Is the shinko 505 OK to use on the road even though it is not DOT rated? I use (and like) them on my dirt bike.
Great video. Nice breakdown
Hi Mike have a FE350, is there a way you can connect the map switch to this bikes as the FX ?
Negative, not without doing custom harness mods and using an aftermarket ecu
The GET ecu system is a much better way to go
