We broke the new April Fools snapshot for Minecraft called the astonishing update. Including tricks for barrel, pig, spider, dupe, hacks, mars, billyballlong, how did we get here?, generic item, rare items, impssible blocks in survival, inventory cheat, one block at a time. This is mojangs april fools 2022.

ONE MORE THING I FOUND! If you place a door, pick it up again by breaking the TOP half, and then you throw it at any entity, it will INSTANTLY kill it

i think its because harder blocks deal more damage, and they might have accidentally left top half of the door as incredibly hard by accident

If you grab a seagrass and throw it, you will get a water source. This can be used to get water in the nether!
This works with kelp too

The white leaves and sideways slabs are actually just "item" forms of those blocks. You can tell by the hitboxes

Throwing ice on your head to wear it and starting to freeze gives me the same vibes as how in Terraria, you can put a fish bowl on your head and you'll start drowning
I never knew you could do that... know I need to download terraria again
8:36 Crouching while wearing a barrel makes you invisible to all hostile mobs, even if they were aware of your presence prior! (if you take damage they will see you again)

The coolest thing about the barrels imo is that when crouching with one on, mobs can't see you
19:37 I believe the reason why enderman can place those is because they can not only spawn with any block, but the block state can also be random leading to active furnaces, waterlogged slabs, etc.
Basically they can spawn with any block from the Void testing world
active furnaces are not furnaces with diff data, they are different blocks

@@materialenergy5534 they are seperate blocks, but the lit furnace is swapped to normal furnace with block states, did you see how that enderman placed a lit blast furnace without any coal? Thats because they can have any block in their hand including lit furnace which is a separate block, if it was just a block state they could never place a lit furnace
@@pixelfoxshouse they can. it randomizes block states when they spawn. therefore creating waterlogged blocks etc.
We got coloured glass out of a previous April fools. I'd love to have lightning turn sand to glass like explosions do in this one.
Be a fun farm to make using tridents.

I liked infinity edition more because of the easter egg dimensions
@@Icosalord But it was not as detailed as this one, and besides the easter eggs, it was randomly gnerated, whereas this one had all its features intended

I'm actually wondering how polished a mod by each official mojang employee would be. Having the internal knowledge, the specifics to how Minecraft works.
I'm interested of this being the next april fools, a competition between them to make the best or chaotic modification to the base game of Minecraft.

I love how much effort Mojang always puts into their April Fools joke updates. Like the amount of things you can do is genuinely surprising. Like I didn't even know it was actually possible to beat the game cause I thought the End Portal in strongholds are "broken" and I didn't even know you could actually trade with villagers.
these updates show what mojang can but wont give us :(

@@pixelfoxshouse mojang doesn't work directly on bedrock, and updates on consoles take a long time. that's why minecraft on console as buggy as it is, doesn't get the same snapshots unless you're opted into the beta program (or at least used to)
Mojang should put the Barrel mechanic to 1.19 to hide to confused any Mob into thinking that your just a block and also to use it on Ancient City
I can see a potential use of the barrel..
you can pick up Magma Cubes, it just has to be the smallest one, and it gives you fire resistance
Idk, some of the stuff in this update is actually pretty useful... Barrel hiding, grabbing and throwing TNT, I really hope they keep those around.

Funny how an April Fool's Minecraft update brings more new functionality for a single day than the normal updates manage in an entire year.

The past 2 April Fool's snapshots have been huge for unobtainables. In 2020 you could get any mob and now you can get any block.
Last year you could get a screen savers!!!!!!!!!!!

Imagine this: 1 person holding a boat with 2 people in it. The 2 people in the boat are holding boats 2 boats filled with players, and so on.
if you throw a block in the air, pick up and entity, and then catch the block you threw in the air, you can carry blocks as an entity
hopefully mojang isn't outworking themselves, this april fools update is better than most full game releases nowadays
16:18 This is actually how minecraft colors these blocks and in the texture files the leaves are white, with a file showing all of the colors and assigning them to the leaves based on biome blend and of course, the biome.

@@choccymilkyt actually i think the void is at the bottom of the overworld and the void is at the top of the nether, so the nether is under the void
I just realized, this is one of the few updates in minecraft you can craft chainmail Armour! The recipe uses fire blocks, and here ur able to craft using em
Unless they readded that as an easter egg, it's unlikely, since the recipes for chainmail have been removed for quite some time.

Haven't seen anyone mention that you can push bedrock with a piston
If you throw wool onto a rainbow sheep by naming the sheep, does the rainbow sheep drop rainbow wool? Probably not, but there’s probably even more hidden secrets in this snapshot, and rainbow wool sounds like the perfect secret for an April Fools update
The skeleton with "binoculars" can actually spawn naturally. It is also much stronger than a regular skeleton.

If you throw blocks at entities, my favorite being armor stands, they take knockback based on the block, bedrock doing this most knockback and I believe netherite block does second most
Here is one thing not covered here: all pillagers have 1 crossbow durability.
That’s probably a byproduct of all tools/weapons having one durability

The infinite dimensions one was pretty good too. I'd almost like to see people make a server with one of those.

I feel a tiny bit insulted in a way by Mojang, feels like they are mocking the fan base by having several asked features in an april fool's update, like the vertical slabs, the horizontal glass pane, the ability to place down items and other things of the kind.
If you have Bamboo in your Off-hand and your main- hand, then you can eat it and get the Enchanted TGolden Apple effect. (for some reason)
so much went into this update it's unreal. Setting up entire crafting systems and thousands of easter eggs.
I wonder if someone can complete the game with this snapshot

If you have a line of redstone/rails, you can throw a block down the path and it will glide like it's on ice.

I honestly hope mojang decides to keep a lot of these features like the ability to throw block and mobs or hiding in barrels albeit more balanced. Maybe there could be a sort of gauntlet item with different tiers that lets you hold entities.

Theres so much fun stuff in the April Fool updates that would actually be good in the base game, like blocks flying out during explosions or grabbing small entities like chickens to float down, even the Infinite Dimensions from Infinity snapshot would be really cool as an official feature that can be accessed in other versions post-snapshot
8:04 this is due to how the grass texture is saved in the game. Grass as well as grass blocks and leaves are actually blacks and white, and a color is applied based on the biome it is in.

Floating with the chicken should be in the normal game, but you could only do that after drinking slow falling.

16:25 Those grayscale leaves are just leaves without a biome color applied. You can see them if you dig into a texture pack. The same happens with grass textures.
You can obtain it in survival if you have an enderman pick up a block with a snow layer on top. It works with a the grass types like mycelium or podzol. iirc it's one of the rarest blocks.

when im maybe like 5 or something, i played a tag game like this, when you crouch, the tagger cant tag you, so you can defend yourself from a tagger, reminds me of childhood

A yes, you got inventory on a no-inventory snapshot.
one of the first things I did in this snapshot was use my offhand button and found out it breaks the blocks and give you 2 inv slots and infinite of the block /item in your offhand
one time I picked up an enderman in the rain and it send me to the shadow realm
teleporting me all over the place and unloading chunks
I wonder if the April fools holding a spider and climbing walls could work with just some commands for maybe a mod or command blocks to act like a mod (full overs mod when tiny trying to climb walls while holding a slime ball)
the barrel trick has me picturing a minecraft version of prophunt.

The portal placement has always been that you have to place the blocks from the inside (middle) and place them facing outwards
Finally, I can still say I have inventory management problems, even in the update that removed the inventory
This update is unironically super cool
Another thing to do has to do with the enerman stacks. after they start teleporting you will teleport like crazy
