- To the point and easy to follow guide to get an S-Rank on Hard Difficulty in Stage 4 - Old Pier in Streets of Rage 4.
Getting an S-Rank on Hard Difficulty in all Stages is required for the Maniac Trophy.
The main goal is trying to get as much combo points as possible.
You can extend the combo timer by picking up food or money or by hitting objects.
This can all be very crucial to achieve high combos.
When you have full health and eat food you will gain a point bonus.
An apple will reward 300 points and a chicken will reward 1000 points.
Keep in mind that it doesn't have to be perfect to get an S-Rank, I also made some small mistakes.

I could've swore something was done about the combo timer for the XBone. I can't get a combo to last long enough to do get a better score. Guess this the only achievement I won't get. I see if was just trash at the game. But I been at it around 6 hours and a few of the I only got hit once or twice, but the highest score I can get is around 22,000.
In my opinion, what made this stage difficult for me with Blaze, is that you may have to retry this stage ALOT of times to find your flow with how to position yourself in such a way to not only avoid being attacked, but also being mindful of the pitfalls so you do not lose health that way. The amazon drop kick chicks are actually able to slightly track your movement, but not until after they start to leave the ground and begin the drop kick. If your close to them, walk forward and let them jumpkick over and past you, but only if you are lined up with them as you approach. Rushing them is a good idea but be aware of their wakeup slap. If you are in the air jumping, they cannot hit you with wakeup slap. You can beat them air to air but you have to hit them before they leave the ground. Their hitbox with that kick is ridiculous. My strategy for the Barney and friends is to use 2 weapon throws to knock them down, so they cannot grab and taser you, close distance and rush them and eliminate them first and leave the murphy shields for last as they can only damage you if they get close.

Axel SOR3 because he did good dmg, he's running fast, Can make great combo and got some invicibility with his front special. So he can be realy realy can for S rank. But i've got 3 stage en S rank for 10h of play. I look your tips and got S rank on stage 4 and 5 in less than 20m so, i guess i'll play with Floyd now

The problem is those freaking jumping girls. Stopping them is an issue sometimes
Try walking up and down to avoid them. If there is no way to avoid them then you can use Thunder Sphere (triangle) to become invincible.

@@xbulelo I just found out, that if you use Shiva, it's easier to S Rank levels. I S Ranked every level with him, on the Hard Difficulty. Turns out, the Number of Combos that you can pull off, Determines the Rank also, and here i thought it was how long you can last without losing lives and health only LOL

Another way to avoid them is by using the i-frames on neutral jump. You're invincible during the rising portion of your neutral jump for whatever reason. If you time it right, you can use this trick to avoid a lot of stuff, as well as benefit from the hit stun of most characters' down+attack jumping move on the fall to start a combo.
this game is ABSURD...I’ve LITERALLY restarted this stage over 300 times today...and that is NOT an exaggeration in the slightest bit...and I’ve tried with over three characters...you could guess I’m going a bit mad by now
Stage 4 is by far the hardest stage, if you ask me. In this video I made some small mistakes, especially with the food bonuses. Maybe this is something that can help you.
Thomas' Trophy Tutorials food bonuses are easy...it’s getting to a “sick!” Or “out of this world!” Combo w out my combo being broken...I just gotta master my timing more

WTF man, I just got over 35000 points on this stage and only got an A rank on Mania!!!
I do this same thing but with Sor4 Alex but I always get A rank even with the red sick combos I get which is over 1000 points why am I not getting it?I don't die and I do bonus stage racking up combos of 24000 points end stage but still only A and I only get hit 5 times at most it's annoying.

Good god man stage 4 for S rank is by fat the hardest. O_o? After 4-5 hours I just finally got it done with my boy Floyd
Personally I also agree that stage 4 is one of the hardest stages. It has very little room for errors.
Thomas you don't know the pain I went through if its not the missile homing kick females, its Donnie with the bat or galsia with knife of Mohawk guy sliding under. Everything else was manageable

What's the score threshold you need to get an S rank on this stage?
I think it's 26,000 or 27,000.
I've been trying to get an S rank on hardest for days. I'm up to 32,244 points, and I still couldn't get it with Floyd. I'm not sure it's possible playing solo.
How are you doing this? Why aren’t the enemies aggressive like they are when I play?
Not sure if there is a way to make them aggressive. I had some tries when some enemies stayed away from me as well.
This stage is nightmare to get s rank on mania not to mention those jumping ladies you tend to throw enemies down the holes in the boardwalk lessening the combo
Man this is my favorite stage to play because of the music and I just got an S on it with SOR3 Axel on Mania difficult
The game is so ridiculous I’m surprised you’re technique worked. I think it really has to do with you not getting hit very much vs the score. Got a score around the same yet still got A rank
It’s based on score. I think you need 26,000 or 27,000 to get an S-Rank on Stage 4. My “technique” is just to get high combo scores and try to do it as fast as possible and end with as much health as possible. I also don’t use Star Moves to get that point bonus as well.
Stage 4 is, in my opinion, one of the most difficult stages.
Thomas' Trophy Tutorials agreed, I’ll try some more it’s my stick point in the trophy grind but thanks for at least pointing me in the right direction with Floyd. He makes it easier!
The Maniac Trophy is the hardest trophy. If you can get trophy you can get the 100 Yen Trophy in one try. After that you might need to grind a little for the 5,000,000 points. Good luck! I hope you get them soon.
How you do that electric grab move
Press forward + triangle for the Magnetic Grab. When you hold an enemy press triangle to use the electric shocks.
Old Pier is so annoying, I've got B on it in every difficulty, no matter what I do, can't even get an A, gonna try this

Surprisingly, Normal is more difficult than Hard on Old Pier. I did it with Blaze. If you use Blaze, you might want to check my one out. I don’t tag so I won’t be asking you to subscribe or like, don’t worry.

Uttam Athwal well, thanks nonetheless buddy. Well done too. It took me so many tries (but I would always reset if I didn’t get an out of this world combo at the beginning) on normal but I did it in one on hard. For some reason, it seems more difficult on normal (maybe because the balance of enemy health is conducive to ruining your game). I’ve also had enemies break a combination through a defensive special move which had me like, “fuck this game.” I can’t wait to get into mania but I’m building it up by S ranking every difficulty. I have a friend too who is good so we’ll both do a video of us completing Mania together (S Rank all the way through). I am going to do another video for those who are fans of the soundtrack but I don’t want to reveal what that is until it is done 😂
Hey bud I been getting a lot of A rank on this level what can I dont to improve to get better on this stage.
Try to get high combos, as shown in the video.
Try to eat food with full health. For example leave the food near the Arcade. Go in the Arcade and eat the food when you leave the Arcade for 1300 points. When you get to the boss with full health eat the food right away. Or if you die at the boss, eat the food after you died with full health.
Don’t use the Star Moves and finally try to do the level as fast as possible.

This level feels impossible to S Rank on hard. Always getting my combos broken 😩
This was by far the hardest level for me to get S Rank. I don’t know how it compares to the other levels nowadays, since the patch changed a lot.

Congrats! Personally I found this stage one of the most difficult ones.
Just need to get this stage and stage 11 to S-rank for the trophy. Then it's arcade hard mode and 5M lifescore for platinum.

@@ThomasTrophyTutorials I've finally done it! I got Streets of Rage 4 platinum! All I need to do to fully master the game is beat levle 30 in survival mode and get all alternate moves for each character.

I can't get a S rank on this stage hard or above I have been trying for so long it is practically impossible for me - unless someone wants to try it over WIFI for me on remote play (PS4)
it is a shame it is only this stage I need on hard for the Maniac trophy guess I will just have to move on to another game I got S rank on everyother stage on hard except this one

How you go into the arcade?
You need to defeat the police officer enemy called “Barney”. He holds a taser and will drop it after you hit him a couple of times. Pick it up and punch the arcade machine with the taser to access the retro level.

just hate the fact you pay over $100 for a game and have to play it repetitively in every mode, unlocking useless trophies...as a kid you got one life and then N64 was 100% a Banjo Kazooie and it glitched and you spent hours trying to find that one missing coin..
Video games are just a waste of time if im playing a flash-player game or spending so much on a 30min clock...Its also just laziness to bring back GTA5 and LA.Loir 100 times when they could bring out a new GTA that wont skip missions or a LANOIR2?!!! maybe??? so I don't have to keep throwing money away at a 20min game that has no "right" answer as all the options are wrong.. (seriously I might as well spend $40grand at a degree that is a waste of time, money and repetitive crap that will end in a crap pay ..rather than being smart and working at a higher pay...
