Yes I do my own. I did take the new Pan Am in for the 1K service. That was a mistake. Could have done it all myself, but it may need some warranty work so I figured let them do it as not to vid the warranty.

So after we cave and bring to the moco we can run this ourselves before we leave... And, the first time I brought my limited to service, was convinced by the parts guy to try a winshield out.. 40 min later my spidy senses made me walk around the service counter a hair, just enough to see some dingbat trying to tap out the cross threaded brass insert! Next shop after a tire change and oil/filer service i get the bike home and double check the oil drain plug to find it was 5 threads away from falling out. Done.. everything done by me after that. Cam, cam plate, oil pump, m8 water pump etc and running smooth 👌

Had my rear wheel speed sensor go out on my 12 FLHTK about 4 years ago coming home to Vegas from Phoenix. Stopped to pee in Boulder City, got back on the road and about 5 miles later the ABS light was on. Made it home, pulled the code and called local HD. Didn't have one and refused to give me the part number. Online I went to Surdyke HD. First thing I got was the part number. Got it two days later and it was cheaper. It was a B_tch with that rear tire all by myself, but I got it. At 70 I only do Oil service. I just don't feel like doing Sh_t anymore. Been riding since 1969.

I took my front wheel into the HD shop and they did not know to put the blue dot by the valve stem. the amount of balancing weights on it were ridiculous. I do everything that I can do.

I mean its better than the 5 days I spent riding in 94 degree heat from the FL Keys to WI., on a bike I just bough. And somehow managed to have the negative battery cable either lose the nut holding it on or it didn't have it on the whole time. Thankfully I didn't actually have an issue until I was almost home and in a town with family that could help me with tools. It was kind of hard to get on a plane with a bunch of tools in my carry on these days. lol. Plus it was memorial day weekend so no dealers were open to have it taken to if I hadn't figured out the problem. lesson learned even if you buy a bike from a "dealer" and it only has 9,000 miles on it. check everything before you leave the lot especially on a 2000 mile ride home.

The weather in Texas was crazy extreme
The back wheel was glowing.and the tyre blew out because of it. Calling was difficult but got through to service as the wait was nearly all day so generous people would offer help .a little skeptical as the patch scared them away but eventually they did not worry but see it was an invite to ask if there was anything they could do. Which helped speed up the support instantly as they had satellite phones. It was good to see true Texas cowboys and cowgirls like dallas. This is why we do not pass her up for anything
