The human hypocrisy will never stop to amaze me, she is out here doing a wonderful job by having the courage to expose herself by talking about the multiple surgery enhancements she had (her being truthful make her even more beautiful) then she faces backlash from insecure keyboard cowards for doing a surgery prevention for people who want to get it done without taking the time to reflect on it, absolutely disgusting behavior but it’s the norm to see people contradict themselves.

    13:25 that may be what she wanted, but that surgeon left her with over rotation and very little bridge support. That nose is going to cause her serious issues in the near future imo. I feel like people (including surgeons) are starting to not care if noses function as long as they look cute from the side profile. No reputable surgeon should be willing drastically alter a nose like that. They know what will happen if they do.

      @whatcolorjunebug Рік тому +7

      @@penguinbelly That's true, but many surgeons will give aesthetic recommendations, which can give patients new insecurities and affect what they end up asking for. And for a long time, aesthetic recommendations tended to include getting rid of "ethnic features," as in, meeting Eurocentric beauty standards were the goal. Obviously that's still the ideal beauty standard for many practitioners, but it's no longer ALL of them, and in recent years the field has gotten better at slightly altering non-white features instead of just fully replacing them with white features.

    Cosmetic dermatologist seconding Lorry's filler recommendations for your nose. There is high risk, they can absolutely shift, the patients that tend to want them are not great candidates, the results are not very precise, and overall the cost and risk generally just aren't worth it when compared to traditional rhinoplasty. We've stopped advertising them completely at my practice and turn down nearly everyone that asks for one at this point, and it has nothing to do with medical background or skill. I simply don't feel like they are the best option for the vast majority of people or the best way to achieve the results they desire. Part of working in this industry is knowing when to stop doing certain procedures and turn prospective patients away. Please always do your research before stepping foot into someone's office to ask for anything done. There is nothing wrong with, and you should be getting, multiple opinions on changes, especially to your face. If you don't feel comfortable with your doctor, feel like they have listened to you, or that your goals align, walk away.
    And as always, a thank you to Lorry for being so kind, open, and educating so many people on a subject that is unfortunately still far too taboo for how commonplace it is.

    the more of Lorry's videos I watch, the more I like my natural face. watching someone get chin implants to get a chin like mine shocked me, because I've always felt mine was too large or prominent. but to someone else it might be the look they're willing to go under the knife for! it makes me appreciate what I have.

    Lorry, I don't if you discuss men's plastic surgery, but I've been very curious about what football player Cristiano Ronaldo has done to himself over the years. In his recent interview with Piers Morgan, he looks unnaturally smooth and I'm not sure, but it seems he has those surgery scars by his ears. Wondering if you could analyze/look at his changes.

    I am very happy for these girls that they are doing great. But unfortunately, short videos on TikTok do not show what can be hidden behind the camera. Jaw surgery can lead to loss of sensation in the lower part of the face for life. Many Korean women face this, because this operation is very common in Korea. It becomes part of contemporary Korean fiction such as "If I Had Your Face". Lifting the lip to the nose leaves a scar that cannot be removed. Fox eyes affect vision and so on. Therefore, it is very important, if you want to change something in your appearance, not only to save money for the operation, but also to double the amount of money to redo the consequences, and also to be very careful in choosing a doctor and understand that even the best doctor can make a mistake or do not quite the way you want.

    Thank you for not hating on the nose job and acknowledging that people have different aesthetic preferences. I really like a more “ski slope” nose and it bothers me how many people just hate on it right away simply because it’s upturned. If you go on the plastic surgery subreddit, for instance, there is so much negativity against people getting this kind of nose. Some people want a dramatic change and some people like the upturned nose look. Some people don’t. Some people want “their nose but better” and some people want a dramatic change. I’d be upset if my surgeon gave me a subtle change and a super straight nose against my wishes when I wanted a bit of a slope and a dramatic change. You’re really one of the few content creators on plastic surgery that is truly neutral in your commentary, that’s one of the reasons I think you’re the best! ❤

    • @malenadraper8805
      @malenadraper8805 Рік тому +16

      I’ve never seen this subreddit, but I think they might be angry with this type of nose because it has gone viral on TikTok and because many people are doing it as a default. They might think it’s a body trend that can go away, like it’s happening with the BBL.
      Now, that doesn’t mean they can hate on the person just for wanting to have it done.
      It’s not my favorite but I see the appeal. It can look very beautiful.

    • @killbethy
      @killbethy Рік тому +13

      @@malenadraper8805 I would say that a lot of the negativity comes from the fact that the ski slope nose used to be the standard for pretty much all rhinoplasty. And because it was for so long, there are many surgeons out there, especially in areas where cosmetic surgery has risen very quickly in both popularity and access, where it is almost the "only" nose a doctor might give to every single patient even when it's not the result they promised. It also doesn't help that these areas tend to be where a nose of this type is extraordinarily rare to find naturally. Due to that, some people just dismiss every rhinoplasty with those results as being done by a "bad surgeon," even if they have no idea if that is what the patient actually wanted themselves! And what you want for yourself is absolutely the most important thing, so long as your expectations don't exceed realistic outcomes, you aren't suffering from something like body dysmorphia, or are doing harm to the structure and function of your nose. Cosmetic procedures should be done for YOU, the patient, and not anyone else. Critics always seem to forget this and even many surgeons color their analyses with their own personal preferences. When I feel those suppositions creeping up on me in my own practice, I like to think back to the first time I dyed by natural blonde hair a bright blue. So many people were horrified I would "permanently ruin" my blonde hair color with something so *gasp* artificial looking. But I loved it and had wanted to do it for years, researched and went to a good salon and colorist specializing in bright colors and pastels, and it was done in the least damaging way and I took care of it afterwards to keep the hair healthy. It shouldn't be treated any different than that. You don't see people making slideshows of hair colors of a random person to judge things like that anymore and it shouldn't be done for surgery either. The only person's whose opinion matters about the final aesthetic outcome is you.

    Interestingly, my dad had a chin implant when he was in his early twenties, as he had a weak chin. He also had a deviated septum fixed. Ironically, I look the most like my dad of my siblings, but weirdly had jaw surgery for the opposite reason: upper jaw was too narrow and had to be widened and brought forward. My lower jaw was also alered to fit. I was botched with ankylose baby molar removal when I was a child, which caused bone recession, underdevelopment, and asymmetry. I also was hit with a baseball at age 13, which fractured my lower jaw near the joint. I also need my nose straightened, but haven’t had that done at this point.

I had a friend who got jaw surgery for functional reasons and I think got a rhinoplasty that was covered by her insurance as part of the whole procedure. For her it was worth the money and pain/recovery period (and I remember the recovery being pretty awful for her. only smoothies for months) because being able to use your jaw and facial muscles properly is a priceless. The first one just made my heart warm seeing this woman turn the clock backward. I loved that the surgery helped her get her youth back!
