Hi I really enjoy watching your channel and please don't change. All because of you I actually learned how to do lash extensions which I'm proud of and thank you for that. ❤❤😊
Thank you so much for that. I’m so glad you found some videos helpful. That makes me glad to hear 🤗
Thank you for bringing attention to this problem, I was about to buy this machine, but now will consider different options!
Yeah, I’d consider something else until Gaggia figures this out (properly).
thank you for sharing.
Good morning! I just went back to my Moka pot. It is still the best way for me. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease years ago so now I can only drink almost 0 to no acidity in drinks. Coffee, they sell like this does not have the same taste but with my Moka pot, it is almost like espresso and the flavor is a lot better. Brings me back to a real cafe latte again but without the pain.
Have a great week!
I’m sorry to hear you’re going through that.
I do agree that the moka pot makes great rich coffee, it’s a close contender to espresso. My husband said it’s his favorite so far.
Have a great week as well! 🤗
Whoa thank you. I hadn't heard about the flaking until this video randomly popped up in my feed. I got a Gaggia Classic for Christmas from WLL. I have noticed a small flake here and there from the steam wand but dismissed it as errant coffee grounds. Checked Reddit and now I'm like damn... bye bye Gaggia
Yeah, unfortunately seems to be a very common issue for the 2023 new evo pro models. Not sure what happened there and what went wrong with these new coated boilers. Wish I was aware myself prior to purchasing.
Sorry to hear about your bad experience with the machine, never thought this would happen to such a well loved product.
Thanks for sharing that with us. I had a good first day of training at my new job tomorrow morning I go in at 9am . Training is for two weeks every one is very nice. Have a great day 😊💞
I'm glad it's going well for you. I hope it continues that way going forward. ❤
@@TashVitorsky thanks Tash
I have the exact same as you from WLL. White Evo Pro and Specialita Grinder. Mine also has black flakes and have reached out to WLL's customer support. They were super great about offering a replacement and I'm currently awaiting the return shipping label. They did not offer me the store credit option, even though I asked for it. I'm assuming you were also past the 30 days? Wondering which dept was able to help you there?
That’s interesting. So they declined you store credit?
I was past the 30 days. But I was not willing to accept a replacement machine with the same boiler. I personally lost trust in those boilers.
I feel that a store credit would be a good option considering you are still spending the money at WLL.
I just went through their online customer support (email) and submitted a ticket.
@@TashVitorsky Thanks for the quick reply! I might try calling them about it then. I got my machine August 3rd 2023. If I get store credit, I'm thinking about splurging on the Profitec Go instead which has a brass boiler (although some people worry brass boilers leach lead). Lol, you can't win.
Could juts be coffee grounds. Did you take off your shower screen and distribution head to make sure they are fully cleaned prior to doing your test?
It’s been concluded that it’s the boiler pealing. The flakes are coming from the steam wand. And this is an issue many users are having. Several even took the machine apart and the boiler showed the signs.
I love your sweatshirt! Please link 💜
thanks. it was an amazon find: amzn.to/3HK5qL0 (amazon affiliate link). but I got it a few years back.
I love breville best long lasting machine. Had the barista express for 10 years bought for $599 on sale and still sold on offer up used 10 years later for $250. Now upgraded to breville pro wish I could get touch but with price point couldn’t afford but would definitely recommend breville best customer service too! Good luck good coffee is worth it for sure 😃☕️
Yes I agree. Breville made a name for themselves 100% and for good reason
I was looking into breville but a breville is still a bit limited versus some of the machines I was looking at to dip my toes into espresso
But they are rly good quality and most consumers prefer them for easy of use + quality
I think this is the first YT video I've seen that addresses the boiler flaking issue with the Gaggia Classic Evo Pro. I'm also experiencing flaking issues on my unit.
I looked it up on YT also and wasn't able to find a single video. Very interesting for sure. But tons of users on reddit are honest about it so we know it's an issue. Hope you're able to get the resolution you're looking for.
$35 gets you a new aluminum boiler unit on Whole Latte Love.
@@SunriseLAW as I replied in a previous comment of yours, its principle. apply this same logic to everything else you buy in life. if something you purchase is defective by fault of the company and you have to pay to fix it. I'm sorry, no.
I wasn’t aware of the issue with Gaggia Evo and glad you got your credit from Whole Latte Love. I think they are a quality outfit. Since you have a store credit I would encourage you to use that money and upgrade to the Profitec Go which I bought after a few years with the Gaggia Classic. Really happy now for well over one year of use. It will take you much further than the Classic could ever do.
Still waiting for WLL to respond, haven’t heard back since the 20. So hopefully they do soon.
But thanks for the recommendation. I saw a few people go that route (Profitec go). I probably should’ve gotten a Profitec go from the start. Only downside is I wish they made it in white 😆
@@TashVitorsky Yes, I'll probably buy a Go, the black one is probably the one that appeals to me the most, but a bone white wouldn't be wrong.
Stay on them and I’m sure they will do right by you. Wishing you a much happier espresso future, even if the machine is not white!!

I've read a lot about 'boilergate'. I bought my Evo in Europe in March 2023, until now i have no issues at all with the boiler. I went for the new Evo for i never liked the idea of the traditional alu boiler, and the new group head of the Evo is very good. However it's all kind of alarming. If i had known it before i would never have bought any Gaggia Classic Pro.
I hear you. I feel the same way. If I had known I’d never have gotten it to begin with. That’s why I feel like consumers should be aware.
I first saw this on Hoon coffe YT channel recently.
Yeah, he seems to be the only one who talked about it on UA-cam so far.
I had bambino plus for one month, wand stopped working. Breville had me send machine to them to fix, get machine back (1 month without machine)not even fixed. I call and was told oh our policy is if you own machine less than 3 months it's automatic replacement. I told them after all the run around I can send back to Amazon for refund. That's will be my first and last Breville product. Fyi moka pots are aluminium
I heard breville customer service isn’t as good as WLL. But I do think breville makes some amazing espresso machines for the majority of people looking to get a machine for home use.
And yes. But aluminum moka pot is nowhere near what this is-peeling of their coating which is ending up in peoples cups.
Hello there young lady,
I am a little miffed that you are the only person on YT currently talking about this. It seems to me that Lance Hendrick or James Hoffman should have already covered this topic with some in depth analysis. Thank you for posting about it and bringing it to peoples attention.
Now, as to your solution, I agree with you. If I was in your situation and I found out that I may have been ingesting a mystery coating for months that could potentially cause unforeseen health effects, I probably would tell Gaggia to eff off with their replacement boiler too. What I would point out is that, your replacement machine should not inspire that much confidence either. Casabrews is manufactured in one of those Chinese mystery factories that have nets outside the windows to prevent people from jumping to their death during the workday. This is why the machines are so cheap. I wouldn't say I trusted those sorts of manufacturers very much either. Might I suggest instead, that you look into getting a Rancillio Silva?
The Rancillio Silva offers very similar features to the Gaggia you had originally purchased, has a large following so replacement parts and replacement videos are easy to find, and cost about $850, or $350 more than your Gaggia. For that extra money you get a larger stainless steel boiler, a much better steam wand, and in my opinion, a better portafilter (however I would end up replacing that with a wood handle "bottomless portafilter" because they are prettier). Just saying, the Casabrew is chinese disposable crap that will break within several years and be unrepairable. The Rancillio will break and a UA-cam instructional mixed with a $30 replacement part will get it operation again, and you will have it 10+ years.
In any case, thank you again for bringing this to peoples attention. I wish you the best on your espresso journey.
That’s horrific regarding the work environment.
Casabrews did send me a machine in the past and they were very pleasant to work with. Most ship out of California. But I’m sure they outsource labor as most companies do.
Was that a blanket statement regarding labor practices for espresso machines made in China or specific to Casabrews?
Thanks for the suggestion regarding the Silvia. I have heard of it and briefly looked into it.
There’s not much for the Gaggia price point out there. I think that was its main appeal.
I may just save up and take my time looking into my options.
I really appreciate your input and take on all of this.
I have no idea about proper coffee because I drink those nescafe sachets of latte and cappuccino, and I know that sounds sacrilegious to proper coffee drinkers, but I like them and they're cheap. 😂 I like all your vlogs anyway, so I'm still going to watch one about coffee even though I know nothing about it. 😂
Sacrilegious, thanks for introducing me to a new work haha
Love that.
Honestly rule #1 for coffee is “do you like the taste?”
Bc you can do all the things but that’s the most important thing.
Thanks for watching along ❤️ 😊
Where do you buy these? I drink them when I’m in France, but I can’t find them in America. They are fabulous! ❤
Gaggia North America is the same as Whole Latte Love btw.
If anyone has received an E-mail from Gaggia NA, look up the address at the bottom of their E-mail. Same address as WLL. Makes sense as WLL is the official North American distributor/repair center/refurbisher.
Oh, that’s good to know.
Thanks for sharing that.
Seems like they’re both struggling in terms of dealing with the customer service aspect of it.
They should've just gone with stainless steel instead of teflon coated aluminum
Niche is you! ❤
🥰❤️thanks for that. yes kind of what I’m going for. no category haha
You should consider the Leverpresso Pro or Flair 58 as a replacement. Imo, Levers make the best espresso.
"Boilergate" is horribly exaggerated. A new aluminum boiler is sold for $35 on Whole Latte Love.
Why should I have to change out the boiler? Not only do I not know how to, I should not have to. People are paying money for a product and said product should function well. The fact that the boiler is peeling means it is defective. Consumers should not have to deal with a defective product.
Health concerns aside.
So no, I don’t think it’s horribly exaggerated.
It’s principle.
@@TashVitorsky I agree with you completely, especially if you don't like repair work.
Why should she have to pay and/or do the labour to replace the boiler herself? The product was clearly not tested properly. People need to stop blaming the consumer
If you want tons of viewers, change the title to Gaggia-Boilergate cut out the make-up part, coffee youtubers are cowards and dare not touch the subject!
I noticed no one is talking about it so didn't want to be the only one here on YT lol. But I might heed your advice and get the word out. Bc I know I personally would've loved to know about Gaggia's boiler history in general when I was shopping for espresso machines.
i love teflon cancer flake in my latte!
they’re food safe tho! lol
@@TashVitorsky Food safe does not mean that it is edible, no one would eat plastic foil that many people use to wrap food.
@@TashVitorsky hahaha
@@dejedejsson it was a joke lol
