    you explained 2 key things i was wondering about that no one else has mention in the many videos i have watched. the first being the fail safe and the seconds being the gyro. i was able to figure out the fail safe but i wish you went more into detail on it. every review of the TX is basically the same. throttle is smooth, steering is smooth, good ergonomics, the basis menu options but no one seems to go into much detail.

      Cool. Yeah I know a real race band the gyros but do they also ban them in club races? When I was a Race Director steering gyros were just getting out there so I didn’t have any issues. This radio works extremely well.

    • @Myglowplug
      @Myglowplug 6 років тому

      Exocaged RC if the club runs their races under ROAR rules, then yes the rule wins, if they don't follow roar rules then I guess they don't apply, it's up to the owner of the club, but I believe most follow the rule just to keep everything even on the battle field. 🏁

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  6 років тому +1

      We ran according to roar but weren’t sanctioned. We also had a few classes of our own. The hobbyshop we were behind sold the whole place so we lost the track. I miss that place.

      It's a shame rc tracks just can't seem to catch hold and make money anywhere it seems. There are two tracks where I live one is off road indoor and the other is oval dirt track. I race the oval track because it is closer but still around 50 mile drive.$10.00 fee. The other tracks are 60 to 100 miles.and charge like $20.00 per class. All the local tracks closed. Got to be rich already to open a track just for the fun of it I guess.

  • @Clickbaiters
    @Clickbaiters 6 років тому +1

    Man, I really like this radio over a hacked Flysky GT3 system because the menu system is actally easy to understand and there os nothing to memorize. I understand this radio isn't a $600 Futaba but I wish you had the programming options found in one. For example, the ability to assign the 3-way switch that's assigned to channel 4 to channel 5. What really bugs me is that channels 5 and 6 are just dials. Would have been more useful as toggles, 3 way toggles at that! I'm still waiting on more info to come out regarding the new RadioLink 6 channel radio.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  6 років тому +1

      yeah it has some nice features but it's kind of a let down for the crawler guys, once you spend some time with the hacked radio its not so bad, but yeah they can be a real problem trying to learn them.

    • @Clickbaiters
      @Clickbaiters 6 років тому

      Exocaged RC Yes, unfortunately you are correct in regards to the Gt3B hacked version. As I wrote above, I'm looking into the new Radiolink RC6GS radio and looking at the manual it seems much more programmable (mixing options) over the GT5. Where the GT5 SHINES over the RC6GS is in the gyro implementation but I wouldn't personally have use for a gyro in my crawler. Still leaning towards a 7PX but I'm just looking at what's out there at the moment.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  6 років тому

      yeah, most of the local guys use the hacked gt3c because of price, I'm interested in the Futaba 7px but does it have momentary 3 pos switch for a winch? I have never messed with a Radiolink radio.

    • @Clickbaiters
      @Clickbaiters 6 років тому +1

      Exocaged RC The Futaba 7px does not have a physical or typical 3 way switch. What Futaba radio allows you to do is to program one of the 6 trim tabs for "3 way output" which will function just like a 3 way switch. You could technically run a front and rear winch on separate channels...not that one would. This is the way it Futaba has done things going back to at least the 4PK radio. I really like the Futaba in depth programmability on their flagship models.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  6 років тому

      xXG.L.HXx so no momentary. My winches are almost walking speed fast so momentary is a must have for my trucks.

    Hi and Good Day @Exocaged RC Happy New Year! I'm an RC crawler with an SCX10ii rig. I'm currently using an Austar AX5. I'm upgrading my radio for an at least 4 channel because i'm gonna use it for my rigs lights and winch. I'm looking for a value for money radio now. To be honest my choices are GT5, Sanwa MT-4S and Sanwa MTS. But both are priced at least $80-$100 more than the GT5. The GT5 is the easy choice price wise, but if you were in my shoe would you got for the extra $80-$100 for the Sanwa? Just because it is Sanwa(more established & probably quality wise)? Just to clarify i do just RC Crawling. Hope to get your valuable opinion. Thank you and God bless!

      @@ExocagedRC thanx so much man. Yes that helped a lot. In my case though then I don't think I will be fast enough starting off racing in the beginning anyway to notice a big difference. But just incase I'm actually not bad and want to really race and get good. I'll get a futaba or sanwa just to be safe. No point in spending 200 bucks and then spending 250 later for a faster radio

    2 Questions. I bought this radio to replace the terrible Spektrum systems Arrma is using now in my Notorious and my Typhon 3s. For the SVC calibration in the Typhon was easy since the receiver lays flat in the car. But in my Notorious the receiver lays on its side. Will the gyro still work this way? And to calibrate do I just use the calibration through the radio?
    Also I noticed that when SVC is on in my Typhon I dont have the same throttle control while turning. Theres like a delay. Is there a way to have the SVC on, but not affect the throttle while turning? Thank you

    • @ExocagedRC

      Custnam I think it will calibrate on its side by simply pressing the calibrate button. Then while in the menu you can turn the gyro on or off.

      Both are about the same price, the gt5 has 6 channels, futaba has 3. GT5 has a steering gyro with very nice features, the futaba doesn't. Futaba is always a great choice and the 3pv is stable and probably gets more distance than the gt5. Hope that helps.

      I think you are referring to Latency, the GT5 is faster than the GT3c and I think its very close to the 3pv. Latency is the time it takes for your input at the radio to end up at the vehicle. So far I like the GT5 and have it in 4 different vehicles.
