Castle Sidewinder 4, if you want to get the most out of an unsensored brushless motor, this is the best from what Holmes told and showed me. It also runs brushed motors.

This is an OUTSTANDING explanation video!!!! I'd like to see something like this for the G7P allowing mixing of channels for 4ws. I know this one can do it but have to do it in the Crawl menu. I'd like to see it with the push of a button.

Great tips, very well laid out. I purchased this radio. to use with the TRX-4 Defender and although I managed to make all channels work, for this particular vehicle I would prefer to have 3. of the channels perform the way channel 3 does - like a 2 position switch. This way I could control 1st and 2ng gears with a 2 position channel and the same for front diff and for the rear diff.
Maybe there is a work around to configure channels 5 and 6 to work as a 2 position switch? Or channel 4?
Really like to have your take on this.

There is no key mapping on this radio so we are stuck with that channel and that switch. Otherwise I really like the radio

Nice, you made a follow up video on this transmitter! After heavily comsidering my options, I ended up ordering a Futaba 7PX from overseas. While I do understand that the GT3C hacked is the true gem of current radios, I simply don't like the menu system. I do find consolation that the HobbyKing "Orange" RX that will work on Futaba radios but I'll have to see if I can find a 7 channel compatible Orange RX.

Exocaged RC Will do, I'm going to dedicate some time this weekend to finding a compatible Orange RX if possible and order it. My radio isn't expected to arrive for several weeks since I really had no choice but to order from overseas due to no US stock because of the Hobbico situation. I'll definitely keep you posted but know that it won't be anytime soon unfortunately lol.
the gt3c is only 3.7V 1S AFHDS and doesnt have anywhere near the range of anything flysky with AFHDS 2A

I've got LED lights on CH3 and they're just on constantly, they only flicker a bit when I hit the button. Worked fine on the stock receiver, so this is a bit confusing......

Currently running a Gt3c hacked for my moa build but really want independent control of the rear steering. I currently also run front/rear dig. I use the dual rate switches to swap between f/m/r dig. Would I be able to set up something similar with this tx? Struggling to find the answer online.
yeah use the DR button and set that to the rear steer channel, then you can make it momentary or set it to hold where ever you want it to, I think you can then set the ch3 button in the handle to re center it. I haven't done that setup but some have told me they set it up like that

Hello my friend ! , have a question about the 4w steering , on what channel do you connect the 2 servos ??, on the manual it said that the rear wheel steering servo goes on the 3rd channel , but what if I want to use that 3rd channel button on the radio to turn some lights, it wil mess up with the rear steering ??, Thank You !!
Use the 3rd channel for rear steering like it says. Use a different channel for lights.
Can you make a video using a turnigy sbec showing wiring diagram and with a clear focus on the wiring tnx
I also had to get a 6-channel receiver for mine because mine showed up with the transmitter without the receiver in it and they pretty much told me to deal with it

I think I’ve already done that. I had it in the trx6 as well and that had the same programming.

Just set 70 everywhere i did that and it dosent destroy the servo and also my transmission switch is set on 3rd ch
I have to ask as I've been struggling to get this to work on my capra. Al other 5 rigs hooked up fine but I have no throttle control. have you bound it with your capra and if so was there any issues. Have tried three FS-BS6's and always same result. However i can get throttle when plugged into channel 2, just not in channel 1.

I did a video on this gt5, didn’t go into detail like this👍👍👊👊📹📹hey I have 4ws n put one servo in channel 1, the other servo into channel 3, when I put in crawl mode the back servo that’s in channel 3 turns my wheels all the way left,when I turn right the wheels just straighten? Then if I hit the channel 3 button it does the same? How do I fix this?
I haven't found a way to select 4ws mode on the fly, you may need to take the servo horn off and adjust it there, so long as it shows the 4ws it should work, as in the monster truck video showing the 4ws, the gyro will work just the ch1 servo. When I scroll my radio past the off button mine also turns to one side.
Exocaged RC yes when I turned crawl mode off it would go all the way to one side, so I did take servo horn off n straightened on off, then turning crawl mode back on then it would go to one side, so basically if I fix the servo horn on off mode they r straight n turning crawl mode on the tires go to one side n vise versa fix horn in crawl mode then off turns it to one side??? Driving me nuts!lol
Ok turn 4ws on and set the horn that way. You should be ok at that point to just adjust trim and end points.

I bought this transmitter (FS-GT5) as an upgrade to my flysky fs3b to run my Rovan Gas buggy, but am having extreme difficulties setting up the Dynamite killswitch on it. After setting up the system, it doesn't work. In short, when the car is running and I hit the third channel button (to which the killswitch is hooked), the engine is killed. However, if while the car is runnimg, I turn off the transmitter, the killswitch light stays on and the engine continues running. I realized that I have a dangerous runaway waiting to happen and, as such, grounded my buggy.
I contacted the Flysky company for help but I haven't gotten a reply as yet. Can you tell me what's wrong with my setup? I'd appreciate your expertise.
hmmm that's a tough one, have you tried the kill switch on ch4? that's the lever just under the top. It's 3 position. I believe there are programmable failsafes on all channels but I have never had a need to mess with them. That may correct your issue. I have seen a runaway 5th scale and it did not end well. Good on you for grounding it until you have it safe.

plug them into the channel you want to use and use the corresponding dial or button. The buttons are not assignable so they are what they are.
I am using one of these for my vanquish Phoenix and I wanted channel 4 for the transmission to go between the different overdrive settings as well as the two-wheel drive only when I would switch it The middle setting would hardly move is there any way to set the middle so it basically goes halfway in between the total throw?
yeah ch4 subtrim, set that for neutral and then set end points

Pretty much yeah. Pick the switch or knob you want and plug the light controller into that port on the receiver.
By light controller you mean a need to by a remote device not just plug the light into the channel and control it like that?

Those channels are receiving power regardless of switch position.

I have no idea about to calibrate anything reverse left right up down I have no idea would you be able to run a Full speck on this transmitter for a Crawler.

I don't think it can do that as i havent found any mix there to make that happen

Sure they can, you just have knobs to turn to get them on and off. The steering gyro only works on ch1 and I’m not sure why you would want it on anything other than a car

A boat, now I gotta say that is an interesting idea. I would imagine the waves lean and stuff may affect its performance for playing around but in a drag boat it may work pretty well.
I mainly got it for my three lights I’m running switchable from the transmitter, the stability control would just have been a bonus
So far the rudder reactes to the direction of the boat pointing. So the lights should work with ch5 & ch6 with dials is that right?

@@grvtyboyRC I think they will. I have the gt5 now and I tried using channel 5 and 6 knobs for rear steering and it worked ok. So I think they would move a winch, dig or 2 speed shifting servos just fine. The rotating knobs might be trickier to use then preset buttons but I think it would work.
So I have the 2 winches (front and rear) assiged to ch5&ch6 and it works fine. Defintely harder to control then a 3 position switch but gets the job done. I also setvthe failsafe on the gt5 so the channels always start in the neutral position so when i turn on the tx and the esc the servo is stopped.
Can you make a video on how to set it up for a winch I have a rc 4wd winch and it is direct to the receiver and when I plug it in it continues to run even tho channel 4 is set to off
You must have a controller for the winch. If there is no controller it will do like yours is doing.

I use a hobbywing 1060 esc as a winch controller. I have a video on it, check the channel it’s fairly recent.
I just pick this up I got 5 cars on it but I can't get the other channels to work like the lights they just stay on no matter what channel it's in how can I get them to go on and off with the other channels

Channel 3 on the first 3 channels on my fly sky gt5 don’t work ,I’ve swapped 3 of em from three different sellers .all well known sellers in Europe ,and all had non working channel 3 on the first 3 channels .4 onwards work fine .anybody else had this problem ?

In the trx4 I'd replace with a Hacked 8ch GT3c radio without question. I have 3 on order to hack and setup.

What’s the benefit of changing radios?
Hacking a GT3c gets you 8ch along with more mixing, epas the best 4ws options available on any radio and it’s just more versatile. Receivers are under $20 so that’s a big bonus as the radio can hold 63 models. I have a video showing the setup I use for most TRX4 trucks however I have a few setups for various user needs. One of the benefits of changing radios is you get more options. With my 6ch setup you get independent control over everything the TRX4 has. You also get a winch or a light Chanel. With my 8ch setup you have two more channels for more lights if you want. I can also do 4ws on a trx and give you full function of the truck plus winch and lights.

I think it’s Ch4. The toggle switch thing. Put your winch controller into that channel on the receiver and it should work. You must have a controller like an esc to work the winch
@@ExocagedRC i did that and nothing happened someone said its the dual rate or the trim or the endpoint but im not sure how to work this transmittter
matthew rein you can scroll on the screen and see a bar graph showing what the channels are doing. Flip that switch and see if the bar changes for that channel.

I got the winch to work but I can't get channel 3 to work I have it on a servo for high speed low speed on trx4 I can't figure it out
Try a different servo in that port. One that’s not connected and see if you can get any action

On the fly sky gt5 I need the three position switch to run a novack duel motor esc & dig it say to use channel 3 but on the gt5 the three position switch is channel 4 can I move the wire on the reciver to channel 4 for the 3 position switch? Or can I change the channel 4 to channel 3 on the transmitter can you rename it to channel 4 to 3?
I bought a gt5 and got it today from Amazon. The rx has no power. No flashing light. Just dead.

Alright here's a question for you buddy I like your video I got a GT5 6 Channel and a Traxxas E-Revo 2.0 brushless I tried every configuration in the world program this thing. I'm sure you know the E-Revo has dual steering servos how do I hook this up
Mr. Dozer. I too have considered attempting this with dual servos. The only way I can think of is to turn the gyro off, turn on 4ws and simply make both servos travel in the proper direction. This would be on ch3 for the second steering servo, just make sure that the epa and trim match up perfectly. The other way would be to use a servo splitter wire and run them both off one channel.
I heard using a splitter or a y takes way too much power for the servos. I thought about what you said engaging the four wheel steering but I'm confused at what setting I would use in the 4-wheel steering mode. It would be nice if FlySky major receiver that had to channel ones
