I'm not saying his method isn't good it just doesn't help me , if you let x equal 0 then you're left with 2y=20 so you know y is 10 , so you have the point ( 0, 10) and then you let y=0 . So now you have 5x=20 so x=4 and you have (4,0) if you plot your points and join them up your all done!
super late to the party, but it should be possible to sold for x I think, so you could have x= 4 - 2/5y. you can test all of the solutions he got from solving for y and they still all work
hopefully you got your answer already but I can explain. The slope given in the equation was -5/2x which can also be represented as -5 rise and 2 run. rise/run method. You can find the coordinate of one point through the y intercept and in our case is (0,10). Now if you use rise/run, it shows you to the second plot. (0,10) (-5/2x)....... (0+2) our new x value, and (10-5) our new y value. Doing the math gives us: 2,5 which was shown. You can find any set of points through this method.
this video is exactly what I needed!
This is soo helpful 👌🏽👌🏽

DIFFERENT shade of yellow?????
for someone who's just starting algebra after so many years, I didn't understand the selection of random numbers used .
Same. I dont understand how they know which numbers to use.
@@Jvstna i think they are randomly selected to see what works, i dont remember
@@Jvstnafor when they chose 0 in the x column, it was to find the y intercept which is very useful when plotting on a graph
Random values are to be selected. Usually we select even numbers, as they cancel out, adding to our convenience. There's no like number selection.
same i dont either
thanks alot, but i already learn this in 5th grade(china)
Rough !
@@leights8956 Ok
But can you drive?
thanks
This makes no sense at all to me and I am 42 and on the Dean's list. Thanks American education system
HAHAHAHAH
Thank you!
How do you graph it without solving for y? Is it possible to understand the graph through the perspective of that equation ?

@@グウィンドリン this helped lol thanks
Perfect, thanks
How to select value of x ? It's random ,please explain it
ion remembering too much but i think x is just 1 i seriously forgot lmao
Ok, but what if you don't know the value of x or y, and you can't make it up? Like, your teacher doesn't tell you? I- Bruh.

Yep
Can we have Chinese language?
What do I do when x and y intercepts are (0,0)?
Point at middle and write label
Yep
Thank
Do we just pick random numbers for x I dont get it ??
you can use any number as the value of x, then substitute the value of x into the equation and find the corresponding y value
@@1975coucou thank you 🙏
Sal why don't you train teachers how to teach on UA-cam.
Almost all people who teach math on youtube are perfect. They may have differ style but they are great.
