Happy New year! Thank you for making exercise videos that allow all women over 50 get healthy!. I have a question if that is ok, there is soo much debate as to whether you should do all strength training or mix cardio and strength training which is what I do. What do you think women our age should be doing the most of cardio or strength?
@Jabo598 Hello Josie. Thank you so much for your message. Yes, i absolutely agree with you. There is so much misinformation and confusion in the fitness industry regarding what works best! First of all you MUST find a fitness routine that you enjoy and what works best for your needs otherwise you will quickly become bored and give up! I do hear a lot of fitness influencers on social media saying that you should never do cardio workouts as you will destroy your muscle gains! This is not true unless you are spending hours running on treadmills or doing other cardio workouts and little or no strength workouts. We are recommend to strength train at least 2-3 times a week which is what I do. I like to do cardio workouts in between while my muscles recover from the strength workouts. Sometimes I mix my strength and cardio into one workout. I just love this style of training and it saves so much time if you only have a short amount of time to exercise. The video that I released on the channel today is a good example of mixing cardio and strength. It is important that we get some cardio sessions in a few times a week to maintain a healthy heart and improve our cardiovascular fitness. That was a great question! Have a wonderful weekend 🥰🩷
