Me too.....and I think the reason is because a lot of toy trucks when I was a kid (the 70’s) were based on these trucks

I had a new 1979 ford p/u with a 6 cylinder 4 speed 4 by 4, cost $6200, wish I would of kept it, yes dark blue, I luv your p/u, very nice
My gradpa hase one with 8 inch lift, enigine swaped with a 460 and 41 inch tires

What size wheels and tires did you put on and also it looks like it has a 4 inch lift.
Just bought a 79 Ranger short bed today, which appears to be the same as yours. I hope to make it as nice as yours someday. I believe its pretty close. Sadly I've only seen pics. Haven't picked it up yet. Ill be out in Cali in 10 days or so, maybe i'll swing by

78-79 are made to look tough like this .... they do not look good at all lowered unlike previous models they are made to look like this .... looks awesome man , well done 👍🏼

I never understand why ford didn't use leaf springs in those half tons instead of radius arms and a track bar....
if your talking about the twin I beam front ends,,, you get lots of smooth travel, good handling and tuff
the tracking bar come with you coil springs,,,,, very nice ride,,,,
