Pando Moto Skin UH1 CE approved Armoured Dyneema Leggings review

- There are more and more options out there for anyone who's after a decent looking motorcycle jean, but that still doesn't make it an easy task to find the one that fits and looks right and does the job. Pando Moto's Skin UH1 solves that issue. It is a discrete unisex armoured legging that can easily be worn underneath your favourite trousers and will do an excellent job at protecting you on the bike. It is constructed from a super strong lycra and Dyneema blend that has excellent abrasion resistant properties. Knee protection is provided by means of the very capable Knox armour and there are pockets for optional hip protectors. Its strong construction has granted it a CE Level A safety rating, only achieved by very few protective leggings. Pando Moto did an amazing job at creating a product you'll forget you're wearing, using market leading materials at an incredibly competitive price point.

Agreed.. game changing product!
I have a Bowtex dyneema version legging and it's, has said, a real game changer.
I use it everyday to go to work and it allows me to get well dressed for work and well protected. It kills all ugly's motocycle jeans.
I'm glad to see concurrence on this segment and I highly recommend using a dyneema legging guys ;)
It is a great option
Ive got the Bowtex and think they are fine. Agreed a little warm in summer though but ive still been able to wear them under skinny fit jeans. These however look brilliant along with the top they do.
They are pretty great
Thanks for the review. What’s the difference between the three versions they sell? Assume it’s the level of protection. I wear a size 38x30 jean. What’s the recommended legging size?
I have the bowtex and couldn’t agree more. I found it bulky. Will have to try these.
Give them a go - you won't be disappointed
Would you recommend this legging over bowtex dyneema legging? Hesitant on pando moto since there are no protection around the calves and the crotch area.
It's a personal preference thing really - both are great
I have a pair of these, get on very well with them under my normal jeans. I like that when you are off the bike you can’t see the armour.
On hot days when stationary yes it gets warm but not noticeable when on the move and fine for normal British weather.
Thank you for sharing! - Iza
Do the flat knee pads articule well? Meaning when on let’s say a sport bike with your knees very bent and the pad folds on the horizontal axis, does it also fold well on the vertical axis? Meaning does it wrap around the contour of the knee or it stays flat and poles out either side.
@@chuck1622 I ride a Ducati Scrambler so quite an upright riding position, they do bend around the knee pretty well in all angles I would say. Better when warm rather than cold.
@chuck1622 I took some pictures of them in a sports bike position but not sure if I can post a picture in to the text box.
Will the D30 Ghost knee and hip armour fit in these?
It is not the exact shape, so it might not be too comfortable once fitted
Do you guys have upgradeable pads
We have plenty of optional armour pads on our site
Aren’t the ankle zips going to be a problem when your tighten your boots or shoes?
It might be an issue depending on the gear you use
That zipper would be like a rock in my boot...both of them.
I use TCX dart wood boots with these leggings and I don’t notice the zippers at all.
I’ve tried the Bowtex and couldn’t get a fit.
Didn’t even know you did these as they don’t appear in the “leggings” section on the site.
Have to try a pair !
It looks like they're tucked in there when I have a look...
Rather expensive BUT if these leggings work in humidity [would they?], they would be good for Thailand. Under a pair of shorts, even. You say 169 GBP, Andrew, but on your website the knee armour is a 12.50 GBP extra. Is it?
That extra armour is for the hips not the knees. Its the same piece as the hip armour, as well as shoulder and elbow, so it's listed as the same product (hence it being called shoulder/elbow/knee/hip). It comes with 1 pair of these protectors inserted at the knees but not in the hips, which is why it's available to buy as an add on.
@@Dylzhaar Thanks for that.
Interesting.
Very!
Is the armor removable?
It is yes
What size for 36 in waist and 33inch inseam?
Hi Jonathan,
You are likely to be an XL
@@UrbanRiderlondon thanks, that's what I ordered. Hopefully all is good once they show up.
I just bought armored tights and use them as underwear. I wish I had this
There's still time
Where do you find armored tights?
@ Urban Rider , Will they make you hot in the summer?
It depends on yourself, and the temperatures you're riding in, and the type of riding you are doing! But an extra layer is always going to add some warmth
In the Details section they state, "Highly heat-conducting and reflecting fabric". Heat reflecting? Really? All I care about is reflecting the heat from my big V-twin from my calves and thighs. Do they do anything to mitigate this? Nobody talks about this. So, it's not "everything I could want" without this aspect.
A zip just above the heel isn’t going to work with boots. Didn’t you think to test this as part of the presentation? I was very excited at the beginning of the video, but won’t buy them, because I think the zip will be a problem unless you can it and update the video, which will benefit all potential customers.
Thanks
Unfortunately, we do not manufacture them. We haven't heard of it being an issue thus far!
