    The scales even SOUND different when you place them on the table @ 25:15.
    Plastic vs reinforced plastic. Good comparison vid! 👍

    Another thing thats VERY IMPORTANT- apply downward pressure on the blade while trying to unlock, the triad lock is built in such a way that the more pressure u apply the tighter it binds and cannot be unlocked, the clone will snap shut even when applying downward pressure in blade-be care full not to chop off fingers during this extremely dangerous test!

    I own this cold steel Rajah II knife and it is a beast. I own several dozen Cold Steel knives. Sometimes I want to buy a fake rajah II because they offer it on Dghate with the black blade and it is impossible to find a real one with the black blade . Nice video !

    The handicap with clones is their absence of quality controls on the entire production process. However if the unit leaves the workshop well, the only difference lies in a slightly lower quality in the retention in all models.

    Awesome video, Bro! You did an excellent job of exposing and showing the differences of the real Rajah and the fake Rajah. Keep up the great work. We, people that don't like purchasing counterfeits, need to stay informed about them. You're appreciated, Bro! Peace, Stiletto :-)

    The reason to buy this clone is extremely simple: Price. Money.
    Not all of us have 150-200 bucks just waiting to jump out of our wallet.
    Personally I bought a clone Cold Steel Spartan, just to see...
    - how does it feel
    - how heavy is it,
    - do I like the shape...
    etc etc etc.... because in all of those regards it is close enough to the original.
    IF I'll decide I like what I see so far - then I'll buy the original.
    I also bought a fake Rajah, but unlike yours they didn't stay true to the size or construction method of the original.... its about the same size of the (also fake, but true to the original) spartan, with a liner lock and thumbstuds, not a (copy) tri-ad lock and the plate. -.-
    Tbh tho, they stated the measurements in the details, I just assumed its a true to shape and size copy.

      Thank you for adding your experience with Cold Steel clones. I like the points you made but the problem I have with clones is when people try to pass them off as real when they sell them. I mostly made this video to show some of the differences so people can recognize a clone and to show that they’re not the same quality either.

    The blade steel coating is different. The clone is bead blasted and the real Rajah 2 is stone washed. Bead blasted will rust more easily than stonewash.

    Ive seen videos & seen comments of/by people that want to buy clones of Knives, that say they want a good Knife but not for the Price of the real ones - But thats just plain Stupid - You can not get anywhere near the same Action, Durability, Usage, Satisfaction or Feeling of a great QUALITY Knife in a Clone. Period. Dont skint on Price!! You wont regret going Quality. These Cold Steel blades deserve every part of their reputation for Excellence!! You literally DONT NEED to look at another Knife Supplier for your Knife needs ever again 'IF' you didnt ever want to. They literally have a Blade to cover every base, in form & functionality.

    The box alone doesn't mean a thing for mine came in a box like that and it's a real one.
    All other details you mentioned check with mine though.
    The screw on top is small the screws next to the lanyard hole are uneven spaced and there is no gap at the top o the blade near the wave system.
    I'm just saying that only the box doesn't tell if it's fake or not.
    But thanks for the video, based on it I could ascertain that mine is the real one.

  • @afree763
    @afree763 3 роки тому +1

    I would imagine there is a difference because you definitely beat the clone slot more than you did your authentic blade, for instance you chopped the wood 15 times opposed to the 24 times that you did with the clone.

    • @totesmalotes
      @totesmalotes  3 роки тому +2

      This is interesting. I went back and counted. So it’s real Rajah: 15 hits fake Rajah: 24 hits the first time and real Rajah: 8 hits fake Rajah 5 hits the second time. So to sum it up, I did 23 hits with the real Rajah and 29 hits with the fake Rajah in this video.

      Cold steel doesn't make their own blades. They sub contract from many factors in China. The clone is probably based off a design from 20 years ago. Cold steel redesigns frequently. The old models are old not necessarily fake

    I have a real one and it's showing a lot of wear because I use the hell out of it. So I went to buy another one today and found out they're all clones. Even though I love this knife, I never thought much of Cold Steel products. They're not as good as the hype. I think the clones are still pumped out by the same overseas manufacturers as before, just without the same quality control as before, which was weak as hell when these knives and others were still in production. You're just getting slightly worse made junk with the clones as you were with the "real" ones.
    Withe the real ones, the screws all strip out and you have to re-tap then, especially on the thumb plate after repeated use. In my opinion, as much as you pay for them, that shouldn't happen as often as it does with their knives.

    Well done. The clones are garbage. I have seen even worse cold steel clones where the fake ''triad'' lock is just dangerous. This one looks pretty dangerous too, imagine cutting your fingers off to save few bucks...
    People that make the clones have no responsibility for their product while people with the brand name have huge responsibility to bring quality, correct materials and correct design.
