- A View of K&N's Cold Air Intakes on a 1995 Z28 Camaro LT1, and 2002 Z28 Camaro LS1.
I did not run the cars and did no exhaust review on this video because i had nothing to hold my camera. If you specifically want an exhaust review on either one of these cars, let me know and i will see what i can do my friends.
i like the lt1 kit how it's covered and goes down🤔👌
Dude this Video helps a lot. I just got my 94 z28 Camaro and it already had a K&N intake system in it, But the hose was all crumbled and wires was broke as hell. I'm most defiantly going with the LT1 look in your video. Thanks for the help.
Yup, my 94 Lt1 elbow cracked so I RTV'd it on for now. But Hell! I didn't think that K&N tubing would be that big!! Thanks man!
I'd replace that elbow asap. Mines cracked and it cause all kind of incorrect readings. Found an aftermarket on eBay for about 70 jegs has one too like the one in the video
I just ordered the LS1 K&N CAI off Amazon for my 99 Z28. I can't wait to install it! :)
Bill Dunn 😂😭👏👏🍻
Lt1's have a great launch off the line on the top end but Ls1's low end torque is what makes the difference in a straight line In high speeds. I have a 96 Z28 myself and it'll take a little more umph In it to get with an ls1 nonetheless I still love my LT1 Camaro.
the lt1 intake is a pain in the ass for sure!!
what brand intake elbow did you go with on the LT1?? i need a new one asap & not sure witch one to get..
Hey the extra piece u ordered for the lt1 where did u get it??
I bet the LT1 is so responsive to intake and exhaust mods, due to its loosening of the corporate noose that kept the Corvette desirable
Someone told me that on the Lt1 CAI, because it's low to the ground, the filter can suck in water in rainy conditions. Is this true?
Need splash guard
Wrong Alex. It’s called a bypass valve. And yes a true cold air intake can and will suck up water. Then you gonna be doing a, “sir mix a lot” baby got back remix lol
Trick flow is the best
I broke every front bumper bolt to get in under it on my lt1
Can you make a video on how to install the K&N intake for the LT1 camaro please?
Where u get the elbow for the lt1?
It's all about that ls1 performance!!!
Martin Marentes I smoked ls1 with my lt1 I don't see the big deal ppl make 🤔but I still like both engines 👌🍻👏
I have a 1996 impala SS. I bought a K&N cold air intake kit for my Impala. Ever since i got it installed its been running sluggish. Seems i lost horsepower.
Tayy Bae dam 🤔what kind of set up is it cause I want to put the setup he got on his Camaro with the lt1 for my SS🤔the one he got seems legit🤔
Where is your MAF placed i think this makes the difference.. u might need to relocate it farther away from filter
@@housechillin8386 my 1996 impala ss is gone.. Someone reared ended me on the highway totalled my baby...smh
That’s what I’m saying. I took mine right back off and when it rains it goes back on lol
What all do I need to take off to get the old aftermarket filter off and out Just bought the car place with brand new cold air and take
Where do I get the LT1 cold air intake? And the elbow that you bought with it? Hmu thanks bro
ULISSES SANCHEZ it's been 3 years u get it yet and were? i like that setup to
Summit racing: trick flow elbo for lt1
Elbow you can get almost anywhere but don’t get plastic
Dude thank you this was very helpful.
Where did you get the elbow for the LT1
You ever find it lol I need one too
@@bockaticnum9023 I found it on summit racing
@@christopheranderson1473 should I cheap out or fuck it buy it from summit
@@christopheranderson1473 people saying them eBay ones work too
@@bockaticnum9023 I just went with the summit one
On the lt1 did you remove the vent scoop right under the intake so it got better flow?
@joesowards would it be the same look for a lt1 firebird? i have a 96 trans am and ive been looking for cold air intakes, cant seem to find one. Ive looked at different sites and what not but if you could let me know. thatd be great!
Did you ever find one?
Considering getting k&n cai for my '01 SS. Looks badass on your Z. Did you have to tune/dyno the car? Was it an easy install?
How do you find the lt1 vs the ls1
I have the Lt1 engine where can I find that elbow at?? Please let me know
Reg Rich check the end of your humorous, between your radius and ulna.
What air filter fits the lt1 k&n
So the elbow doesn’t come with the kit, where can you buy one then?
EBay 30 bucks or you can spen 80 on a slp one
Hawks motorsports gott'em. Elbow intake.
Summit racing its called trick flow elbo for lt1 for that exact 1
house chillin do they actually work? I mean it’s just air passing through.
Hey, on KN filters website, it says you cant nstall a CAI kit on f bodys with traction control...does yours have TC?
I don’t see why it would matter. Just make sure you got the room like in his video. There is always option b. Buy it and if it doesn’t fit then send it back lol
How do you access the filter on the LT1 intake. I bought a used 95 Firebird and it had work done already. I’m not sure how to access the filter, do I have to take off the inside of the wheel well or what?
Let me know if you ever figured it out, having same problem
@@garrettgarrett8966 The black plastic piece underneath can be pulled back if you take the bolts off on the drivers side. It’s tight but it’s better than taking the whole intake apart
I got an 95 formula and want to install K&n cold air. Its got traction control the kit from summit racing says it wont work with traction control wil K&n kit work? Also after I pull the filter box out what is that little motor thing that the filter box slides on is it like an air pump to push air thought the filter box and what do I do with that after I remove the filter box and install the K&n just leave it along or do I unplug it or something?
I have the same question. There's a wiring harness on the corner of the air intake elbow under the fender. I don't think it has anything to do with the intake but rather just where it is placed.
The plugs are for your mass airflow sensor and I'm drawing a blank on the other both plugs should be plugged into the stock air intake already on the car just unplug that one and plug in the new
Leave the mass air hooked up
Dude Its Sounds Like You Degrade The LT-1 Bro, Just Saying
Also I think I hear trouble in my 87,000 Z/28
it's bucking, to be expected... it had moss on it when I bought it.
anyway, the transmission feels notch and dry. Can I run Amsoil severe gear 75w90 in the early T56?
To me, the set for the ls1's could go on the lt1, doesn't look that much different
Yea if you have the hood for it I agree
Christopher Jackson except there is no cold air against the sheet metal of a stock Z28 hood. These cars have a chin spoiler, just like the first gen, that sucks air from the ground... AKA COOL AIR.
the filter isn't all that great, so with an exhaust and an intake, you basically get Corvette numbers. The issue I'm pissed about is the 2 and 4 bolt main cap difference. I might buy a Corvette engine and try to swap it.
Just buy an ultra z hood then the ls1 cai should fit perfectly
Which car is faster?
Depends on the driver
What kind of k&n is this
K&N 57 series FIPK cold air intake! The part number for the LT1 kit is
57-3010-1 Great kit I Luv mine on my 95 Trans Am
Any difference in sound?
lt1 had to go under the car for more hp and ls 1 needed more torque
Armando Picazo high end and low end
Armando Picazo 5th gear is miserable doing a daily pull. These cars are monsters. I killed my OEM clutch, or my seals are leaking on my clutch. anyway after spinning the tires 1st-4th gear... your clutch stops being your friend.
I have a LS1 with the LT1 kit.
