Hi! I stayed in College Hall North my freshman year which included a bathroom in each room; no kitchen though. Additionally, I believe you can choose which dorm you want, don’t quote me on that though!

Howard has an amazing Fine Arts program, you’ll love it!
No, they do not do background checks but I believe on the admissions application a question pops up about having been arrest before and you’re supposed to click yes or no. Hope this helps and best of luck💕

Hi. There’s many different room layouts in towers. My room specifically was a two room suite with one person per room and a shared bathroom and kitchen! My room was a standard sized room and my suite-mate had a standard large I believe :)

Hey love, no you don’t have to have a roomate you’re freshman year. There are single rooms where you can be by yourself ( i believe you can request it when selecting dorms but they are more expensive). & technically, no, freshman are not allowed to have cars on campus. No problem!!
It’d be nice if someone made a dorm tour of the actual dorm and not their dorm stuff. Howard floor maps aren’t helpful and neither are y’all.

I’m doin to be in 8th grade but I have two colleges I want to go to which is Howard and NC A&T and I was wondering is Howard a lot to pay for if you don’t get a scholarship because me and my brother literally are in the same grade so we are most likely graduating at the same time

Hi Maya, yes Howard is a private institution so it does cost more than many other schools. Make good grades and do well on your SAT/ACT so you could qualify for a scholarship!!

Hello love, you have to be a sophomore & up to live in this dorm! I stayed in College Hall North my freshman year and loved it!! But both College Hall North and Quad are both great!! Hope this helped💗
I agree…. The Towers are dorm/apartments for Sophomore and up. I stayed there as a Sophomore and beyond. I even had the entire unit to myself as Upperclasswoman because my roommate moved out and spent most her time with her boyfriend. Freshman dorms , Quadrangle, are completely different. I stayed in Wheatley Hall. It is a one room with small bed. You really make the place your own by how you fix it up. It was an amazing experience as I loved everything about Howard. But please google “Freshman dorms at HU” to see it or visit if you have a friend there. I just don’t want you to be disappointed thinking that all dorms look like that.

The city treats us well, there’s a lot of fun things to do in D.C. its all about taking full advantage of the experiences

I saw your response to someone else's question. I'm a future bison, but I thought you could basically answers the questions the same way your future roommate did and specifically request their name. If that's not the case, then how does this process actually work?
Hey love, the roomate questionnaire is basically to pair you with someone who matches most similarly to you, but you cannot request someone’s name. Roomates are chosen at random

Maya Scott it’s worth a try but honestly it’s random. I tried that my freshman year and ended up with someone random 😫
Maya Scott Once you find out what residence hall you’re assigned I suggest calling the manager and asking to switch before moving on campus. Sometimes they’re nice and will make accommodations but no promises!
