Beyond style, as a College student, I think that if I had to live in Xavier's room, I wouldn't be able to study: it's cluttered, distracting, and absolutely impractical for managing study materials. Laura’s was more of my preferred color pallet, but didn’t feel so much like a dorm. I loved the fabric hack - spending that money on fabric you can reuse I can get behind, but wouldn’t spend that on a peel and stick you’d have to throw away. Patrick's design looks exactly like the rooms in a psych hospital. the cheap plastic look with the washed-out cold colors was the main aesthetic in many of those hospitals. looking at that room takes me back lol. I think I saw chairs that looked very similar to what he used but they were filled with sand so you couldn't throw them. we even had stools like that in art therapy.
