I got this one almost 2 years ago and he has been my Classics/Generations Astrotrain ever since, although he is maybe a bit too G1 perfect for that. I love the figure though. Never had anything break or had anything feel like it might break, but I only transformed him to all 3 modes twice. I found his transformation pretty fun too, and not overly complex.
Definitely looks like the G-1 Astro-train!!! I would like to see Takara Tommy & Hasbro come out with a masterpiece Astro-train!!!!!
Yes Ben, Vangelus tried to get Cyclops to float. I think it was in a fish tank.

Since they're Machine Boy now, they should just make an oversized "knock-off" of their own product. Surely they could make the plastic much better quality, too. That would probably make a lot of people happy, because this could be a pretty good Masterpiece-alike if it were bigger and sturdier.

Awesome Review! It definitley needs to be upsized and have proper plastic/diecast to make it a better figure. It still looks the best out of the three.
I actually bought him as a near voyager scale figure to go with the Generations Blitzwing. I didn't care for Provider, and have hopes for KFC's offering to complete the trio without having a headmaster among them.
Wish he came with tiny figurines to store in shuttle mode. That way you could simulate troop carrier status.
I think that was amazingly done, only thing is I think he should have been taller. The vehicle modes really nice great work.
Cool looking fig, too bad he's too small for my collection. I may try to get one anyways, just to fiddle around with. Cool review!

@@Maximilian7992 Classics Henkei Universe Generations. Basically, the scale of figures you can find in normal retail, such as, at the moment, Siege, Earthrise, and Studio Series.
If I'm able to actually start my third party company one of the first figures I'm gonna make is gonna be to take this figure, add some more molded in detail, and fix the QC issues
He looks good, and having a very G1 transformation is a plus, but man, that plastic quality...
He'd scale well with smaller MP figures like Sparktoys War Within Megatron
One of the KO's should take this and use better plastic and diecast it would be far better. Upsize it by 10 to 20%
Andulvar Side panels should have been metal. I agree die cast would be better.
when transforming it from train to shuttle, i got frustrated and have to take off all my clothes to cool myself done, if you have trouble with the nose cone for the shuttle, take a screw driver to loosen the screws, but im impressed with the figure. I love it. except the cane for the satellite, my daughter broke it. :(
Wouldnt it be nice to give Astro Train 4 more carraiges that form a combiner robot.

My opinions on the figure...
*WAIT, just to let it be knownI didn’t watch the G1 cartoon growing up, so my opinion isn’t based on its likeness to its G1 self. The Transformers I grew up watching was Armada, and Energon, however I see the G1 cartoon as the best despite not being able to watch. This is based on my opinions.*
*Robot Mode:* it looks pretty good, although the calf’s are a bit to large. I know it’s for the transformation and the help it stabilize, but it still kinda just stands out too much. Otherwise the detail looks good (again I didn’t grow up with the G1 cartoon).
*Train Mode:* My opinion, it’s incredible. Im not a train person either but I can’t help myself from finding new things about the train mode to make me like it even more. It has that realistic look to it that I like, but unlike the movie incarnations, are more easily recognizable.
*Shuttle Mode:* I’m not really a fan of the shuttle mode, it just looks like a rectangle with parts of a shuttle put on it. I would prefer to see a more fluid like shuttle mode with curvature to make it look aerodynamic. I’m not saying it’s a bad figure, but I think it needs more work done into the shuttle mode.
*In Conclusion:* it looks like a good figure, though if anything I would just have it for its train mode and robot mode and not the shuttle.

In regards to the panels next to his fists, they are meant to be there, as that's cartoon accurate .
I have this...you are right with the plastics because I broke mine after 3 transformation. Otherwise he looks the part.
jokerkidone I stressed the panel and broke the piece behind his head. lol The back in train mode kept popping out too.
I think he is more of a 40.00 dollar toy than 90.00 toy.
So Weijiang or other 4th party companies...when are you going to OS him to MP scale?
That foot remedy totally made my day. I love love love this toy for a replacement. For TR. the feet were my one criticism. This fixes that. TR looks like he’s wearing bowling shoes. I can’t... lol. This is an awesome toy. Not MO. But great for CHUG.

I got this guy a few days ago, much as I like him, I just can't get the back end of the train/shuttle mode to stay attached, it always pops off.

Cyber Fire Hes really fragile. I like him more for display. That back in train mode pops off alot.

use the alternate foot transformation. it becomes tall as mp seeker.
I actually used to have this guy, and I’m gonna tell u right now, it’s not worth it. The figure felt super cheap, transformation was not at all fun, and broke very easily. It’s decent for display and has some neat accessories, but you’re better off getting a siege astrotrain or DX9’s.
I don't want the MP Astrotain to look like that in Astro mode. ^_^ The cartoon cheated to fit the g1 toy, that is why the cartoon made the flight mode look silly. Astrotrain was not intended to give off other modes in his shuttle mode, that was a cheat not something that should be aimed to keep in.

The design work just needs a couple more tweaks and die cast metal for the side panels. Hes also too small.

I really want a mp scale Astrotrain, but somehow I don't like this look. It's so uniformly 90 degree blocky, no angles. I guess I don't want an AT after all lol.
Strange. I thought this was supposed to be more of a fit with Generations as about a large Voyager in sizing. Too bad for the thin plastic...I was really looking forward to it...I like to move & transform my figures, and as the Year of the Goat Soundwave taught me, anything less than sturdy plastic is a recipe for disaster. And the train wheel joints look scary. VERY scary!!
That gun...it's just my opinion, but it looks like Devastator's. Sucks that it broke on you!! The ladder on the back of the trailer/coal car could've used some gunmetal gray or silver.

Dx9 robot mode is weak. His other modes look great. But this one is a bit undersized..

Scale never bothers me. G1 astrotrain is smaller then megatron and the seekers.
