Part one: As someone who has lived with schizotypal personality disorder for a long time and chronic stress and depression, anxiety, diagnosed with most of it when I was 10, you honestly don't know if your brain is lying to you, you can learn to recognize the signs, i've even talked with some schizophrenic people, who tells me the same story, there's a subtle difference in delusions and reality, it is difficult to see, but when you can see it, you can take steps to avoid it, I don't think I have massive delusions, but my perspective on life and the world in general is vastly different to my peers, so much so that I offend pretty much everyone around me, no matter what I do and even those who admit that I am probably the nicest person they have ever met, it is incredibly lonely living in the world you see differently to others, I even had to tell the love of my life, that I couldn't actually be sure she was real, because it was too good to be true and not in a romantic way. my life feels like the Truman show... always has, always will.
As a diagnosed schizo, the people you talked to are correct it's not a huge amount of people that can see it either, which is why grounding is so important and why we are hyper critical to small details we have to be otherwise yaaaa

The production, information and entertainment is absolutely superb. Lot of respect for that, thanks Jake and all! Also, zombies might actually be a bit 'super' because they have a lack of inhibition. I could probably punch the wall harder, but I don't because I know it will hurt. I could run with more intensity/endurance if I didn't feel my legs hurt. I can grab something with more strength if I don't mind breaking something or tearing a nail off.

Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t our brain restrict how much force we use to prevent muscle cells from being removed from the bone out of shear strength, so couldn’t a zombie virus inhibit that part of the brain making zombies several times stronger ( I think it’s like 3x stronger) temporarily before muscle removes itself from the bone?
We would still need to use the vast majority of the brain to function. Sure some of it couldn’t be shut down, but probably not enough to rip off an arm

Yes, you're correct, on humans the adrenaline levels will spike during stressful situations, letting us bypass our normal limits for a brief period of time, however removing that limitation will also injure our bodies, so if a zombie doesn't have that limit it will end up tearing its own body in the process, that could serve as an explanation for the appearance of zombies in most media, their bodies are working without the brain's limitations, ripping their own flesh appart by just moving.

Just watched this series, but remember seeing the epilogue years ago. The whole concept of our light cone is depressing, but also could explain why the universe seems so empty given the limited amount of time we can ever see.

I as a scientist in (student) chemical engineering i must say that the comparison with the Tambora eruption is misplaced it would take 2.2 million little boys (first generation atomic bombs) to emit the energy and destruction of this event. Scientist will always the first to point out consequences are very bad even for a 100 explosions but it will not cause a nuclear winter this would only be be possible with the largest nuclear weapons in a global nuclear war. Not to be optimistic about a scenario when 20 million people die... but the world would recover without the world ending events you describe, if a super-volcano with a VEI of 7 or 8 was to occur that's the scenario you're describing. Nuclear weapons where designed by scientist to by so scary that war would be unthinkable let's hope it will remain this way. Amazing video i really enjoyed it!
