Love watching any games, old or recent IU plays. I remember my first time of being at ASSEMBLY HALL and I loved every minute.....the crowd gets into the games n they get loud. LOVEthr HOOSIERS
i found tape Indiana Ohio state game with final score 75-71. So i guess its 1988-01-27 game does anybody is interesting to see that 2h tape or its already exist on youtube?
Wouldn't surprise me. Despite his hard ass reputation Bob Knight had a real soft spot for those who were in difficult situations such as Ryan White. He just didn't want it too get out publicly that he had a soft side. He felt you did it because it was the right thing to do., not because you wanted publicity. Steve Alford said that when recruiting after Knight met with the player briefly during the official visit the players had most of the contact with the recruit and the way the recruit interacted with those less fortunate helped determine if the player who was the host would recommend him to be offered a scholarship. Alford added Knight really listened to his players in recruiting visits as the players spent more time with the recruits than he(Knight) did.
Sat behind the Purdue bench for this one with my dad. We went to every single Purdue game that year. This one was so loud it scared me.
Love love love watching these old IU games. Thanks so much for posting

I love love love these older Purdue Boilermakers and Indiana Hoosiers College Basketball Games.
Jim Simpson was a true, blue announcing pro.
College Basketball used to be so great.
Ohhh Assembly Hall was ROARING in 1988. Love it.
love the tracking lines- takes me back...
Boy the Hoosier fans in 1988 were RAUCOUS N LOUD. The way we love it!!!!
I remember watching Indiana was the only team to show their games floor level.
It didn't last for a reason. Horrible way to watch a basketball game
Btw Todd Mitchell missed a LOT of big free throws this year. A LOT.
I was at this game. Loudest thing I've ever heard as IU jumped out to a huge lead early and then held in late.
Kevin Jones is my computer class teacher at my high school
The battle for the state of Indiana.
Purdue won at Mackey that year and went on to the NCAA tournament. Disappointing loss to K State to end the season at the third game.

Camera angle so odd at Assembly back in the day
Joseph Sebastian thinking the same thing. Game looks so much faster and bigger. Maybe it was
Ryan White behind the bench?

Once again, the Hall of Calls takes its toll in Ass Hall.
Considering IU couldn't miss for half the game, what a great comeback.
@Jenesis Wright Yep, it must be difficult rooting for a team that has NEVER won an NCAA Championship. Poor Purdue, haha. 😂
Is this the last time IU beat Purdue?😛
