the kayak has been a game changer for you - try more big live baits this year - you know how to catch the micros - best of both worlds - the other thing though is if it ain't broke don't fix it..
Nice!! In Greece where I live, still don't have basses, so pikes are targeted species. Winter time= cold water,i use 30gr wide spoons, preferably gold colour, mat or shine and or perch colored. Slow to very slow retrieve, near to the bottom and definitely steel leader, ten to twelve inches!!! Well done man!!!
Well John,...you sure had the blessing today man. 2 Muskies in one day,...and on a little spinning rig to boot. This is a fish I've never caught but I'd sure like to. Interesting place you've found here Bud,.....thanks for sharing. Quite a day you had.
If you go by the official Grand Divisions it's Middle Tennessee, but our whole state is awesome, so who cares. The falls and cave area has its own unique little microclimate which leads to some interesting flora and fauna. Every time my family has visited we have had the place to ourselves. It's one of many area waterfalls used for the 1994 live action version of The Jungle Book.
Awesome Musky John. But crazy waterfall. I would love to find out if it came out in that river. Thank you for sharing. God bless you and your whole family....🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊🙂😀
Just found your channel today,. I'm a small time hunting UA-camr myself. Love your content and I know from watching your Hopkinsville video that we are pretty close in the area. I too, love small mouth creek fishing and know of at least one decent creek in my area if you are ever up north of Clarksville again.
Pretty Musky! We have 50+inchers up here in Canada. A 55" came out near the boat launch right up the road from me. I've never caught one that large, though.
WOW ! Can we say, adrenaline rush !?! What a beautiful fish, and on a J Dalton yum dinger! They might as well re-name it, everyone knows when you go to a yum what color it will be. LOL ! You should save that hook and lure and put it up on your wall with a picture of the fish !!! Great work ! Always be safe. Randy B.
Nice to see you back in my neck of the woods again. I've caught some 12" longer than your big 1 there just not quite the state 52" limit, big spots & smallies, too. I hit this river & many others in my area. I do whitewater, camping & fishing. I don't do kayaks though, I'm a canoer, "The Tennessee Canoeist".
I believe that loosening your drag is what helped you catch that fish. He would have straightened out that flimsy hook otherwise. Great video. I really like where you've been going with the more scenic portions of your videos. God's handiwork is so awesome! Blessings!
I'm up in Manitoba Canada, thanks for keeping plugin on the kayak. I always need an escape until open water here which could be April or May. Have only got 5 jackfish so far icefishing but I'm in the south and you gotta go to big water in these temperatures to get the good fish. I've never caught a musky but will be targeting them as time allows.
John; you need a better net! I've watched many videos where you had to fight the net. I use two Fishpond nets. A longer handled one (think they call it a "mid length") and a standard length. What I like about them is that they float if dropped in the water. Very light yet very strong. Plus they're pretty easy to rebuild. Where I live we have muskies and tiger muskies plus the northern pike. The tiger is on my bucket list, and have had the follow the lures. This spring I'm changing up on them and going with fur to six inch streamers with an 8 foot heavy rod. When I get this one done, I'm going after them with a fly rod (Loomis short stick with 10 weight line and four inch streamers). Then I'm headed south to a lake full of musky for either a broken rod or another fish on the bucket list. Lastly; John I really enjoy your bibles verses, but wish you'd double the time they are on the screen (us old guys read slow) may the Lord always have his hand on your back.....Gary
Just a suggestion if your going to even attempt to catch these fish you need to upgrade your gear all the way from your rod and reel to your net. These fish are very easy to stress and have die. Quick land little handling and quick healthy release should be priority number one.
Just recently found your channel. Really great stuff man, great to see someone like you out living that dream! you're an inspiration to those wanting to do the same or just get outside and enjoy the outdoors. Keep up the good work bro!
What a great fish to catch! I really had no idea you guys had Musky over in Tennessee. I always expect to see them further north. And of course, the bubblegum yellow swirl Yum Dinger is what gets it!
I could tell on the cast of the first fish just by where it landed something was going to bite. The anticipation of a good cast alot like a big baseball game bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, and a full count right before the pitch is thrown.
Well done. That's my game up here in the U.P., Musky in rivers. Smallmouth are fun and I've caught 1000's but Musky are it. Have plenty of Musky baits but my two biggest came on a 1/2oz Spot and a bass size spinnerbait so I'm not surprised you stuck two fishing the way you were. Also been cut off a lot throwing bass baits so you might want to use at least 20lb flo carb leader.
I would recommend thar you try back reeling on your spinning reel. Using this technique, you can maintain a more precise amount of pressure on a fish than relying on the drag. Fantastic video!
You cannot mess around with a muskie. You must boat them as quickly as you can. I know that's easier said than done but they will throw a bait quicker than any fish I've caught. But... if you have him on the right gear.....congrats. I know your heart was racing.
I'd say that that Muskie had quite a bit of power, to be able to give you a great fight like that...and, looking at that hook afterwards, I'm persuaded to believe that he was within just a little bit of tearing that hook out of his mouth, and getting away! That was a great catch, Brother John! By the way:I see that you're still using your same old stand-by: Good Ole Mountain Dew! YEE-HAW!!!!! Have a great evening, and I'll catch you on the flip side!!
I noticed he is using a wire hook. Switch to a forged steel hook, and a ten inch piece of 30 or 40lb. test hard mono tippet. A muskie will have trouble biting thru a 40lb. piece of mono. I like wire hooks for bass and trout, but big stuff wants a stronger hook.
With Musky being the apex predator, their presence might be a reason you didn't catch any bass. That Yum Dinger seems to call bass to it. So they were probably absent in that part.
I have caught a lot of smallmouth where he is, they live in the same place as the musky, in fact I have a chest cam video of a 3 lb smallmouth caught and let go and next cast caught a musky off the same big rock it was awesome
Nice work n that musky I’ve never caught one of those that’s incredible! Up here in Michigan where we can hook northern anytime I run a short leader of 40 lb Seagar fluro to avoid LDRs (long distance release)
Nice video Try a 5" or 6" plastic paddle tail swim bait I use a 1/8 oz 4/0 or 1/4 oz Weighted Swimbait Hook These have a screw lure attachment and are a lot more durable than the hooks you were using I use 6" of Titanium Leader Wire to keep cut offs to a minimum
Great great video, man, from the drone footage to the massive catch, I thought maybe you would explore that cave beside the water fall, I've seen on another you tube channel the guy was catching 1 after another on a inline spinner 1/2 to 3/4 oz, I believe Meeps makes some called bronze slammer! 🎣
thanks man, but that's also why I like that hook, it is thin and doesn't take much to get a good hookset on med or med light rods and i don't normally put that much pressure on them
Dude 2 musky in less than an hour is more than some musky fisherman get in a whole trip. Blessings brother
the kayak has been a game changer for you - try more big live baits this year - you know how to catch the micros - best of both worlds - the other thing though is if it ain't broke don't fix it..
Man that is a beautiful river. You are blessed to live there.
Wow, not one but two Musky!!! A Hellgrammite and a Yum Dinger for the win!!! Let's Go! Thanks for sharing!
Your videos are top notch, John. Thanks for taking us along!
Great video John!! The filming, the drone, the content.
Great job, love your work!
Nice!! In Greece where I live, still don't have basses, so pikes are targeted species. Winter time= cold water,i use 30gr wide spoons, preferably gold colour, mat or shine and or perch colored. Do you have Marble Trout?
Great to see you wearing a life jacket. Congratulations on the muskies. They are cool fish.
You are always able to get to some amazing places. Thank you for showing us that sometimes you have to struggle to get on the fish.
What a beautiful fish. So great to see you release it. Fish of 10000 casts and you got 2!
How can anybody doubt God exist with all the beauty of the world. Great video as always John. Really like that shoalie kayak
Don't feel bad, John. Had a 40" + muskie at the boat last week that wouldn't fit my net...lost him/her of course!
wow
It's a real rush! My first one did a somersault as soon as I hooked him on live bait. Addictive!!
Excellent, great adventure. Muskie is a real treat to land. They are awesome to go after and a special gift to hook up with one, let alone land it. 👍
Well John,...you sure had the blessing today man. 2 Muskies in one day,...and on a little spinning rig to boot. This is a fish I've never caught but I'd sure like to. Interesting place you've found here Bud,.....thanks for sharing. Quite a day you had.

The scenery reminds me of the Arkansas Ozarks. Beautiful.
Awesome Musky John. But crazy waterfall. I would love to find out if it came out in that river. Thank you for sharing. God bless you and your whole family....🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊🙂😀
I can’t help smiling watching this. Good for you, buddy!

I know you have been for a while but it makes my soul happy when I see you fish with a baitcaster!
Nice I had no idea those were in Tennessee. Love the videos John.
Musky are native to Tennessee
That's quite a fish on that light tackle - certainly makes it more challenging and rewarding.
Awesome day. Thank you and the waterfall was unique.
This was awesome, great Muskogee and awesome waterfall!!
That intro is fantastic. John, nice musky pretty scenery all around.
Pretty Musky! We have 50+inchers up here in Canada. A 55" came out near the boat launch right up the road from me. I've never caught one that large, though.
Yeah we have 50 plus inchers here as well, quite a few are caught on Melton hill

Awesome photography !
Nice fish John! You're gonna need a bigger net for those trips haha. Way to go!!!
I love catching muskies. Thanks for giving me a thrill. !!!
@ 10:08 , beautiful shot with the fish, congratulations
I think that musker was one of the biggest fish you've caught on your channel. Nice catch! 🎣
You didnt see his first muskie video last year did you? Way bigger.
Wow man! I bet that was crazy reeling those in. Tenn has a lot of cool species.
Always great videos from you. Enjoy every one!
I believe that loosening your drag is what helped you catch that fish. He would have straightened out that flimsy hook otherwise. Great video. I really like where you've been going with the more scenic portions of your videos. God's handiwork is so awesome! Blessings!
Awesome catches for sure. Those would be so much fun to catch. Great video John!
Great video man. Awesome find on the water fall as well. That's really cool seeing different stuff like that where you are.
And proving yet again that Tennessee is a fisherman's paradise! Nice fish John!
What a fight that was, and with the hook bent out too.
I dont know how the hook didnt bend out

That's very cool 😎, that's a fish I want to catch. I've caught big catfish, big bass, big carp and big stripers. Good job 👍
Musky was definitely pushing high 30's. Nice work John!
It's like he looked up at you and smiled as you put him back in!
i thought it was a growl, haha
Just a suggestion if your going to even attempt to catch these fish you need to upgrade your gear all the way from your rod and reel to your net. These fish are very easy to stress and have die. Quick land little handling and quick healthy release should be priority number one.

Thanks for the videos 😊🙏🙏 Nice place quiet 🤫🤫
Great catch John! I once caught a 8lb pike with a 2in ned worm 😅 Amazing video as well!
Excellent video John from start to finish. Really liked the photography and music at the start.
What a great fish to catch! I really had no idea you guys had Musky over in Tennessee. I always expect to see them further north. And of course, the bubblegum yellow swirl Yum Dinger is what gets it!
yeah there are quite a few places here that have them
YOU da man!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS AND GO KATS!!!!!!
Enjoyed! Huge musky! That's on my bucket list. Very unique waterfall.
Beautiful catch
New River has a bunch of them. I've caught a few. You were lucky with the gear you were using
Awesome Muskie, and a beautiful location. Thanks for another great video!
Of course it was on a bubblegum yum dinger! You catch more fish on that thing. 😁 Congrats man. Awesome fish! I want to catch a musky some day.
I see you where in my neck of the woods! I have caught several musky! Great video nice catch!!

i think that would be tuff while trying to paddle a kayak also

Nice work n that musky I’ve never caught one of those that’s incredible! Up here in Michigan where we can hook northern anytime I run a short leader of 40 lb Seagar fluro to avoid LDRs (long distance release)
Awesome fish man!! Bucket list species for sure!
Intro to this video was amazing, good work!
Way to finesse that Musky! Great catch!
You need to plan another day here with those new hellgrammite lures! That would be awesome.
For sure!!
Beautiful scenery and awesome results for time spent!
Wow - beautiful fish!
That's one for the bucket list 🤠
Great video John, well done
Great spot!
That's pretty awesome. I never knew musky got this far south
Musky are native to Tennessee
Nice video
Try a 5" or 6" plastic paddle tail swim bait
I use a 1/8 oz 4/0 or 1/4 oz Weighted Swimbait Hook
These have a screw lure attachment and are a lot more durable than the hooks you were using
I use 6" of Titanium Leader Wire to keep cut offs to a minimum
Muskies are cool fish iv had one mounted on my wall since I was little and have always wanted to catch another one but never have
2023 is the year I catch my Musky out of the Collins River Great catch John..👍
Amazing video brother thank you for the scripture at the end.

it was closed for the winter
Awesome catch brother.
Awesome catch, man!! If thats an owner block head I've had the same problem with hooks bending out easily.
thanks man, but that's also why I like that hook, it is thin and doesn't take much to get a good hookset on med or med light rods and i don't normally put that much pressure on them
@@CreekFishingAdventures True. There's pros and cons
Nice musky!!!
Nice fish
Great vid per usual
