Honestly they look they may be totally okay but I couldn't find what they use for fragrance but they say their candles are free of parabens, phthalates and other harmful ingredients so they look pretty good! It looks like they use coconut wax which is good!
I haven't heard of scent nodes before as an ingredient so I'm not totally sure but I would guess that Pottery Barn candles have synthetic ingredients. I'd check what type of wax they use, see if they're phthalate free, etc. I'd also say that transparency is key. If they hide full ingredient lists or aren't willing to specify what certain things are that they use to create the candle, it might be best to avoid those.
I'm so glad that you found it helpful! I also make my own non-toxic candles and have an Etsy shop for them if you're interested. I linked my shop in the description box of this video! 💚☺
Most candles mentioned have essential oils. But I have been doing some research and some essential oils are toxic as well. Do these candle have source to see if they are not toxic?
Hi Susy! I don't think that essential oils themselves are toxic but I know there are some things online stating that burning them might not be the best but I'm not sure if it's really that bad. It doesn't seem like it would be that bad especially when comparing to the alternative of burning paraffin wax or wax with pesticides. But of course, do your own research and use what you feel comfortable using. I don't have any sources for the candles as I didn't find them on a specific article or anything like that. I personally just did my own research and found brands that use non-toxic wax, fragrance oils, etc. You can look on the candle websites for more information about them. The main thing to look for to make sure that candles are made with safe ingredients is the wax, making sure it's organic and made without pesticides. I recommend looking for Soy, Coconut or Beeswax. Those seem to be the most safe and sustainable waxes. If you get soy wax, make sure it's organic because a lot of soy wax is made with pesticides. Also, look into the fragrance oils that are used. For example, fragrance oils that do not contain any chemicals from California's Prop 65 list. I actually ended up creating my own non-toxic candles and started my own Etsy shop selling them! I wanted to make my own candles so that I could have candles that I truly felt comfortable using because I would know all of the ingredients going into them. I recently did a video about them if you're interested in checking them out! Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/VSecC3mLbpE/v-deo.html
Does BBW stand for bath and body works? Personally, I don't like to use those candles because they are made with paraffin wax which is not a clean burning wax and they are filled with chemicals and synthetic ingredients that can be hazardous to your health. They also don't specify where they get their fragrances from and they normally have super strong fragrances. It's likely they aren't using clean fragrance oils. The issue is that when the candle is burning, it emits fumes of the ingredients that it's made out of, so if it's made with a toxic wax and chemicals and ingredients that aren't good to breathe in, that can be harmful to your health. I hope that helps!
What do you mean by that? When it comes to soy candles, you just want to make sure that the soy wax that is used is 100% GMO free and doesn't contain pesticides.
@@orangeblossom7748 There's a lot of conflicting information out there about if soy candles are good or not. But I just try to make sure the soy is gmo free and doesn't have pesticides. But not everything natural is good for you of course.

When Pottery Barn provides you with "ingredients" and it lists "scent nodes" is that synthetic or is that clean?

what about the soy.. and soy free.......

@@DaniSmith405 I guess what I mean is soy is bad in general especially for females so how does that make it non-toxic even if it's natural
