- Hey all!!
Have you ever been so annoyed with someone that you wish you could reach over and smack them but you didn’t want to deal with the consequences of your actions?? Well now you don’t have to!! Introducing The Poet of Apocrypha build!! A build that makes people smack themselves for you! Sometimes to death!!!
This build was a LOT of fun putting together, and I meant to release a while ago but got delayed due to some busy life stuff with work and even moving! But I’m here still with plenty more to throw at you guys! So- about this build.
I’m happy to introduce Area of Effects very first Arcanist build on the channel. And boy it has really undergone some serious analysis and fine tuning, but the result…. AMAZING.
This video offers an in-depth breakdown of every detail and aspect of this build including explanations for many of the decisions made on the build. We will discuss the gear, skills, and champion point distribution, as well as give some real time PvP battle clips in high MMR matches.
I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do.

Been waiting to see what you’d do with an Arcanist!
Time to make some popcorn, settle back, and enjoy the cinematic opening sequence and gameplay clip.
As always I appreciate you Tatewaki!! 💯
Ladies and gents, he's back !
Thanks Irish! There’s still fuel left in the tank! Life happened and caused some setbacks to a couple build releases, but the wheels are turning and there are more on the way!
Always out.of.the box, nice to see you back brother
Thanks Chris! 🙏🏼
recently while i was playing my arcanist, i was having some fun changing my guys looks when i realised i had both the ascendant lord armor AND the unfettered greatsword and it inspired me to make a templar build based around using the armor master gear set as well as death dealers fete and of course to go along with the armor master set, full heavy and the unstopable brute passive since it fits the ascendant lord theme but also the build set up with i still cant decide between tormentor or front bar masters greatsword, warrior-poets, or peralescent ward with ultimately i think the better call is tormentors with either way but tbf, i dont have a set of pearlescent ward or a masters greatsword i can use to try it out once i have the build fully set up and warrior poet's is only useful so long as you dont have a warden so who knows. aside from that tho, the back bar weapon is an ice stave that you use the destructive touch variant for a super cheap ranged taunt and a bonus 10% dmg reduction with the front bar having temporal guard and revealing flare for the protection bonuses as well as of course putting unstobably brute on at least the front bar but also perhaps the back bar for a consistant bonus 5% health that also still allows for you to get the bonus from wardens maturation minor toughness proc meaning you can still get that bonus 10% hp.
I always enjoy your approach to these videos! I dont even play an arcanist (don't have the dlc atm) and I still enjoyed it!
Thanks for the feedback Brian, I’m glad to hear it! If you ever get the dlc give this build a try! Definitely a lot of fun!
ya know there are some ideas i have but i think the best one i came up with is front bar brawler, impervious runeward, runeic sunder, resolving vigor, and revealing flare with temporal guard and than back bar would be defenstive stance, spiked bone shield, rune of displacement, reconstructive domain, and recuperitive treatise with of course, sanctum of the abyssal sea as the back bar ultimate. now as for the sets, radiant bastion or an alternative i will mention in the paragraph after this one + harbinger, as well as death dealers fete and 1 piece either trainee or druids with full heavy (that one is pending on seeing how resource hunger this version will be) with the race being imperial and the mundus i think proly actually being atronauch to some sustain with infused heavy and divines small armor pieces. beyond that as for the cp they would be from the brink, ironclad, reinforced, and cutting defense and than as for the red it would be sustained by suffering since if your being hit hard enough your resources are being drained faster than you gain them, you are likely afflicted with several status effects already and with no cleanses, may as well take advantage of the fact they will be sticking around and double your resource regen and than your race would be imperial and your food would be max health while your pots would be armor pots.
now as for the alternaitve option, you could drop the greatsword and swtich to a shield front bar with either defensive stance or spiked bone shield taking its place depending on your preference tho defensive posture would provide more passive benefit by lowering block cost since dmg shields lower your block mit to 0 if i remember right with than resolving vigor also going to the back bar likely in slot 1 to make it easy to use when needed with than on your front bar i would say to go with honestly immovable and replacing radiant bastion with armor master which gives 1 health, 2 armor, and 5% total max hp for slotting an armor ability and 5k resitances for 10 seconds when you use an ability and the upwards of a bonus 35% block cost reduction on top of defensive posture even if you will be snared by 95% at that abilites max ramp up with tho, that would make blocking easy as hell and subsequently make harbinger much easier to spam use and if you get a warden to pop minor toughness on ya than you can see your health values SHOOT THE FUCK UP AND with runic sunder, armor master, and major and minor resolve, you can really hit some high armor values making your dmg that scales off of that also bump the hell up with cutting defense, spiked bone shield, and harbinger seeing MASSIVE gains and of course impervious runewards dmg would ramp up too and i would like to see what that jumps too.
as for one last possible idea for a change for this build, it could be done to have it so you do this on a warden instead with as i mentioned, armor master, harbinger, and death dealers fete and while losing out on impervious runeward would suck, you would get easy access to major and minor breach on demand on top of also being able to dish out minor vulnerability due to being able to use a shock rune OR go with crusher since cutting defense triggers weapon enchantments. honestly the warden option is one i think i will try now that i have it on my mind especially since it doesnt require me to pay for a race change token XD
Dude I love your stuff and I'm not even a pvp player really but I use 3 of your builds when I do, so much fun to play
Thanks Matthew! I appreciate the support and am glad to hear you enjoy the content!
Been too long brother.. glad to see you back
Thank you! I’ve got more on the way! 💯
Your builds are always so beautiful, as well as being effectively powerful! Especially when you're in a huge mob! LOL. Nice.... As usual! 🙌💯♥️
The only mob that matters to me are my Area of Effect clan members! All the others shall perish!!
💥💯 Lol!
What are your thoughts on a PVE reflection build?
Ive been waiting for this to drop! Still amazes me how artfully crafted your videos are...awesome music too. Was pretty cool to watch you in those bgs...my teams couldnt kill you and you did great dmg. Youre a beast! I prefer you on my team lol....pretty sure i see my almost dead char running by haha, i like to think i lived....😊
Amazing video! Thanks Dark
Haha I also prefer you on my team! And yeah I had this one built like 2 months ago, but a lot of “life” stuff happened so it got delayed. Thanks, as always for your support and friendship Red!! 🙏🏼
@@AreaofEffect Always, my friend 😊 Hope to see you more on the battlefield!
Do you have a reflection build for frost Warden?
I have actually worked on one before and it was quite promising! Maybe I’ll have to revisit that one! 💯
@@AreaofEffectWould it use the same sets as this?
@@avatar19822 I would have to say that it would be different. On a Warden, you already have access to “Minor Toughness (%10 Max Health Buff)”, so I would definitely NOT be using Warrior Poet. Also- the damage shield ultimate on the Arcanist was a big focus on the Arcanist build, and since the ultimate on a warden isn’t a damage shield or reflective style ultimate, I would probably not invest as much focus or interest into the ultimate generation or cost on the Warden.
This means that I would definitely have to do the build and setup differently. But already, I know that I would definitely be using Crystalized Slab skill, Asylum S&B with Defensive Posture skill, Shield Wall ultimate, etc…
Can't wait to try this build cauz warrior and plaque doctor doesn't deliver much on damage even with 68k
I was waiting for your arcanist build, since the santa clauz...😆
Sweet! I think you’ll have a blast with it! And YES… just like I said in my video… more health doesn’t necessarily mean more damage. It’s not just about the stats it’s about the function. I was told several times as well I needed more max health..
I disagreed. And won. 🤣❤️

Forgot to ask do you have any plan on making a update on the all time favorite knight of hindrance
Tank with all the the new sets be interested to know you're thoughts ....thank you...
What do you have on the green tree for champion points? You skipped this tree.
What would you recommend using instead of Asylum Weapons? Seems no one wants to do this trial anymore, lol
Nvm, I decided to just solo it and got the required pieces first time around. Looking forward to trying this build out.
@@seanlowry2811 Haha very nice! Great job btw!
what would replace poet with if playing with a warden?
how good is this open world?
Very good open world but again the more enemies the merrier! Not AS effective on a single target boss per say. If I was a warden I would probably go with Either Plague Doctor or something like Storm Knight for that Resistance and yet some reflection damage.
what is the name of the style you wear?
Weapons are “Rune Priest”, but the skin is a Polymorph.
Could one pull this off without being a vampire? - I understand its less survivability, but does it break the build?
No it will not break the build! Great question!
