  • Harley CV carb wheelie MOD-save 100’s of $$ and save you a faceplant/fuel shower 🚿
Disclaimer-the carb does not have to come off bike to do this
How to do the wheelie mod is here-this mod will help stop the 12 o’clock cutout and also stop fuel from dumping on you in wheelies! It drills a new breather hole into the carb bowl area and allows you to plug the stock breather in the filter mating area- any questions ask! Thanks guys
    Tools-
    Drill bit- 9/64th
    Drill
    Jb weld putty
    Grease on drill bit

So I run a mikuni 42. Drilled the hole and capped off the over flow lines. So will this not dump fuel and not choke out when the bike is in a wheelie?

Does this help with the bike cutting out while doing a wheelie??

So you're venting the floatbowl more directly? Does fuel ever slosh out of that hole?
I'm not sure what this would accomplish. Edumacate me brother.
    But, thanks for the vid

When you do wheelies at 12 o’clock on Harleys the vent being in the back ends up choking the motor out after a bit so plugging that one and then making a new one in the front let it breathe better at 12 o’clock and no no gas comes out of it and no dirt goes into it I haven’t had any issues and it’s been a year and a half since I did my carb

Did this a few months back. I let putty cure for about 3 days, was working great but every now and then my main Jet will get clogged by a flake of jb weld. Idk if the gas is just slowly eating it away or what. Any ideas on how to fix?

    • @crookedclubhouse
      @crookedclubhouse  2 роки тому +1

Weird mine hasn’t done that man and I only let it sit overnight only way I can think is drill the jb weld out and then use silicone instead

False alarm...went to replace the filter in gas tank and saw that there wasn’t one in there. Cleaned out the tank and noticed a bunch of little flakes I beileve to be the liner of the gas tank (identical color to the jb weld).

I wanna know more about avoiding the face plant lol I’m tired of the touchy throttle of my mikuni and can’t learn new shit at 12. I’m assuming this solves that…

I did this. Not sure if its sealed right at the air cleaner or we didnt drill a big enough hole but my bike sputters when i goto pop up the bike. Also going 60mph, if i quickly goto wide open throttle it sputters for like a second, almost sounds like anti lag on a car. Also feels like i have a tiny bit loss of power. Also feels like its not fully engine breaking. Like the idle is set way to high but the idle is at 1k rpms. Im super confused on whats going on.

Did you get metal shavings in the bowl on accident? Maybe sucked into a jet

Mine was doing the same thing it was an air leak caused by a crappy seal where the carb goes into the intake manifold.

Tap a quarter/20 set screw at 3/8th length and take the risk and sand it down or take it to someone who feels comfortable doing it… I went with a video suggesting 7/64 hole (which I did). My bike is running amazing and I don’t feel any loss. Also a big ALSO! If your trial and erroring just get some amazon carbs and drop your OEM parts in and find what works best ;)
