I’m going to start working in new job tomorrow and I have yet to see when can I fit an hour for writing and another one for workout. This will come in handy, thank you for your videos! They’re great reminders of what’s important
Mariana - fine video. You presented your system well. Planning needs a higher level perspective and process. - - - Below I describe a top-down planning methodology. Possibly it would be helpful to you for your own planning or as a potential future video. The methodology is named OSSTT. It is pronounced “ost" and rhymes with “post”. OSSTT stands for Objectives, SWOT, Strategies, Tactics, and Tasks. Below, there is a description of the conceptual framework of the pieces and parts of the methodology. Then, there are 2 examples. Conceptual Framework It is a top-down methodology, so you start with Objectives, then you do a SWOT analysis. Then, you develop Strategies for each objective, then tactics for each strategy, and finally you develop tasks for each tactic. - - - Here is a description of each piece/part. Objectives These are statements of a person's desired condition / state at some time in the future. They tend to have a longer term perspective and take at least months, if not several years to achieve. A condition / state is an “end result”, in contrast to a “means to the end”. - - - An objective statement should also indicate when each objective is to be achieved. It is important that a person writes down his/her objectives and read them once a month. Why? For a couple reasons. (1) Life’s day-to-day demands make It’s too easy to get distracted and lose sight of one’s personal objectives. It’s like the old saying, “It's hard to remember that your objective was to drain the swamp when you're up to your ass in alligators”. (2) A person’s objectives will likely change multiple times over a life-time. A person needs to detect when his/her situation changes and modify his/her personal objectives, accordingly. Defining objectives can be challenging. In order to help, below is a list of “categories” of objectives. “Categories” typically explain “why” a person wants to pursue a particular objective. It is a very comprehensive list. Note. These are “categories” of objectives, not objectives themselves. * Personal / Professional Relationship * Physical / Health Condition * Mental / Intellectual Condition * Emotional / Psychological Condition * Spiritual Condition * Wealth / Financial Condition * Security / Safety Condition * Fame / Reputation * Power / Influence * Skill / Capability * Possession / Property (Things you have / own) * Location / Place (Where you primarily reside) It is common that a person has objectives for more than one “category” and possibly multiple objectives for any one “category”. SWOT Before undertaking any effort, it a very valuable to step back and assess your (S)strengths, (W)eaknesses, (O)pportunities and (T)hreats that will help or hinder you in achieving your objectives. Strategies These are “approaches” to meeting an objective. These are “high-level”, typically mutual exclusively (that is they don’t overlap) “approaches”. There are likely multiple strategies that will achieve a particular objective. All may be used or just one or more of them. Tactics This is a “resource” or “process” (the modus operandi) used to execute a strategy. For each strategy, there are likely multiple tactics that will execute a particular strategy. All may be used or just one or more of them. The distinction between “strategies” and “tactics” is very important, but very conceptual. Here is an example to help explain the difference. If a person has decided to go to war, a strategy would define “what” battles to participate in. A tactic defines “how” to conduct a battle. To quote Sun Tzu (author of The Art of War), “Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.” Tasks There are specific “to dos” / activities. They define exactly how to perform a tactic. There are likely many tasks needed to perform a particular tactic. All may be used or just one or more of them. The sequence and timing of tasks are typically very important. Example 1 Objective Category: Financial Objective: Get paid $300,000 a year in salary. When: In 3 years. Strategies - Here are possibilities. * Get promoted with my current employer. * Change employer. * Start my own business. * Become a consultant. Tactics - Here are examples for the “Change Employer” Strategy: * Networking. * Apply for published job openings. * Approach desirable employers, whether they have a opening or not. * Use a recruiter. Tasks - Here are examples for the “Networking” tactic: * Develop an introductory 25-50 word explanation of the kind of work you want to do that you can verbally present to anyone. * Develop a list of organizations (volunteer, religious, occupational, educational, etc.) you already participate in. * Develop your “marketing” materials (business card, resume, marketing plan). * Develop a list of people (friends, family, colleagues, ) you already know. * Prioritize them. * Meet with people. Explain what you want. Ask for help (referrals). * Attend networking events. Example 2 Objective Category: Health Objective: Lose 35 pounds. When: In 1 year. Strategies - Here are possibilities. * Diet. * Exercise. * Surgery. * Hypnosis. Tactics - Here are examples for the “Diet” Strategy: * Use the Keto diet. * Use the Atkins diet. * Eat only 1 meal a day. Tasks - Here are examples for the “Atkins Diet” tactic: * Buy a week’s worth of Atkins bars, shakes, and protein chips at the grocery store once a week. * Order Atkins frozen meals from xxxxxxxxxx online website once a week. * For breakfast: eat xxxxxxxxxx. * For lunch: eat xxxxxxxxxx. * For dinner: eat xxxxxxxxxx.
This video is what I really need! I'm lately struggling to find joy in the project I'm doing, which I really love. So I was upset that I'm thinking of it as something I have to finish instead of enjoying it as it deserves. So thank you so much for this video. ❤
Wonderful video. As always. 👌🏻 Just one question…Could you share the name of the spiral agenda (diary) that appears in this video? The flowers cover one? I’ve seen you using it several times and I’m looking for a new agenda. Thank you so much for you time. 🙏🏻♥️

Conceptual Framework
It is a top-down methodology, so you start with Objectives, then you do a SWOT analysis. Then, you develop Strategies for each objective, then tactics for each strategy, and finally you develop tasks for each tactic. - - - Here is a description of each piece/part.
Objectives
These are statements of a person's desired condition / state at some time in the future.

Defining objectives can be challenging. In order to help, below is a list of “categories” of objectives. “Categories” typically explain “why” a person wants to pursue a particular objective. It is a very comprehensive list. Note. These are “categories” of objectives, not objectives themselves.

* Spiritual Condition
* Wealth / Financial Condition
* Security / Safety Condition
* Fame / Reputation
* Power / Influence
* Skill / Capability
* Possession / Property (Things you have / own)
* Location / Place (Where you primarily reside)
It is common that a person has objectives for more than one “category” and possibly multiple objectives for any one “category”.
SWOT
Before undertaking any effort, it a very valuable to step back and assess your (S)strengths, (W)eaknesses, (O)pportunities and (T)hreats that will help or hinder you in achieving your objectives.
Strategies
These are “approaches” to meeting an objective. These are “high-level”, typically mutual exclusively (that is they don’t overlap) “approaches”. There are likely multiple strategies that will achieve a particular objective. All may be used or just one or more of them.
