OMG, it's been 10 years 😱 I subscribed to you when you had that first note taking video .(you said your friend suggested you make videos and it was a super hit).. it's not on the channel now 😢 I used to rewatch it all the time in my school days. i just can't believe it's been so many years 🎉🎉🎉
Hi Mariana, congratulations! Thank you for sharing your experience, it helps a lot to understand how traditional publishing works. I am also Portuguese and writing my first book in English. It has been such a great journey. You are an inspiration!
Congrats. I love hearing stories like this. I'm deep in the query trenches and experienced very similar experiences. Including the ghosting on full manuscripts. That rejection in particular takes some getting used to haha.
I've started querying my own book and this is helpful. Hearing your journey and get to know some of the processed used and also hearing about the agent who reach out to you again after the rejection. This is helpful and brings me a bit of hope in my own journey. :) PS. My first language is not English either, so I can relate.
Can you please describe more about the plot of your manuscript, that you were mentioning here?^^ 18:40 you were saying this fantasy book is not about productivity. I think it doesn’t matter. Because productivity should affect all parts of one’s life, so in the end the way one produces things, no matter if those things are fantasy books or non fiction books or newspaper articles about transition to non fossile energy etc.
Parabéns, Mariana! :) podes partilhar o link das tuas redes sociais mais direccionadas para a escrita? gostava de seguir, mas não encontro 🙈 beijinhos e muito sucesso 😊
as a Dutch writer, this is giving me so much hope. I needed that, thank you for posting this and sharing this hard process with us

book tips .
Is there a particular reason you decided to write in English instead of Portuguese? Or it just felt right?
