Both games have their own pros and cons. To me, Velocidrone is much more fun to play as a racing sim. But when it comes to freestyle practice, I prefer Liftoff over Velocidrone.
I just wish Velocidrone would add support for ultrawide monitors, graphics could also do with an overhaul and UI does definitely need an upgrade as well but all that aside its still my prefered sim for practice
Great video. I have liftoff and really do like it a lot. The night mode is super cool and adds a great feel to the environment making the game feel a bit extra special...
Q. Velocidrone gravity vs Liftoff gravity because I have liftoff and seems the drones fells like have less gravity. I see the drone in liftoff are suspended more in the air that’s what I’m said.
I think a combination of both drag and gravity, drones just don't travel as far on idle throttle in Velocidrone compared to Liftoff, that's where the complaints about the floatiness come from for Liftoff.
may I ask which one is better for practicing before using real-life drones? I'm not looking for racing, just want to learn and feel the physics of flying a real life drone before actually trying it on a real drone.
I would say VelociDrone is probably better in that regard, for myself it feels very close to how it does actually flying using real-life drones. Best of luck c:
Some nice flying! Can tell you’ve put some serious time in on these SIMS! 👍👍. Saw your other video as well (100 hrs). I’ve gotta put some more time into these SIMS as well. Have been using liftoff but just now testing a new sim called UNCRASHED. Pretty good maps if you haven’t seen it yet. Nice review by the way! 👍👍🤙
Thank you so much! I've got to check it out, graphics seem to be pretty impressive. I wouldn't mind trying out a few more simulators and making some more review/showcases. I've put a bit of time into the simulators and real life lol
@@QuickFlights FYI: I just uploaded a short clip from the Uncrashed FPV SIM if you want to check it out. The MAP is called 'Arctic Island'. Think you'll be surprised at how good the map actually looks and how good the flight characteristics are as well. 👍
Liftoff's air dymatic sim feels no real, low gravity , and easy Dirfty , but better than DRL . VelociDrone feel more Real, but maps and graphic are limited
Some people get it naturally faster, otherwise have to really practice practice and practice. If you stick to it I believe pretty much everyone can do it.
id say get velocidrone. liftoff is extremely drifty compared to real drones, and the devs has made a point of thinking they are above some people and treating others like idiots for pointing out flaws. if it wasn't for that, liftoff would be awesome :/
I prefer Liftoff actually for freestyle, although when I do freestyle in VelociDrone I haven't touched anything to do we the physics as I don't want to ruin the racing feel.
@@QuickFlights Yeah I stopped going on Liftoff. DRL maps are just a little better and the UI is nicer. Can't really speak on the physics of the two though. Of course DRL sim is more for racing but there is a free-flight mode too.
you need a trasnsmitter* to play -- can support vr pretty sure in liftoff but unnecessary. i got the radiomaster ts16x max edition to fly my new quad with. training will be nice with it as well.
Dubz is correct, I use my transmitter and I highly recommend it, but if you want you could use just an Xbox controller if you have nothing. You could hook up the feed to your goggles or vr setup but the majority of people just fly with it on the monitor.
While agreeing with most about what you said about handling, this statement is kinda weird to me: "They both feature great graphics compared to other drone simulators in the market" To which simulators did you compare that? Both look absolutely crappy in comparison to DCL or even DRL. Especially Velocidrone. Verlocidrone looks like a game from 1999 and I have no clue how anyone could say they "feature great graphics". I frankly dropped Velocidrone because it looked so bad and some maps feel very halfheartedly made (I e.g. got stuck underneath a floating tire stack that was just not put onto the ground properly by whoever made the track right at the start). I agree about Velocidrone really nailing the feeling, feeling very realistic in terms of handling. And I first thought I wouldn't care much about the graphics only about handling, which is why I bought Veloci. Turns out, I was wrong. After 10 hours of staring at a dull muddy green plane that's supposed to be grass with 5 trees around it I simply couldn't bear it anymore and switched first to DRL which already looked much better and later to DCL (because I found people playing it on Twitch by sheer accident) which looks WAY better. The maps in DCL are much more enjoyable, interesting and better crafted. They just absolutely killed it with the graphics there. A thing that is sadly completely missing from it though is a map editor. If you are 100% into drone racing and only want a sim to improve on that, by all means, get Velocidrone. But if you even slightly find yourself caring about what you stare at for hours to come, don't buy this as your first simulator. One thing though: Most people I know end up with multiple simulators anyway. Because of different features like custom map building, racing, playing with friends who only have simulator X etc. So don't be too hard on yourself if you think you bought "the wrong simulator" - you will eventually play it again ^^
It is three years later I feel like lift off has barely updated. The gopro you carry is old the drones are old I tried to find a similar to what i fly but nothing there,
These simulators are for computers, however you might be able to figure out a way to use the mobile phone as a controller if that's what you are asking
I bought liftoff first. and I decided to give velocidrone a try. I keep falling through the map, and when I callabled my remote, it actually changed settings on my remote not just for the sim. velocidrone sucks
Velocidrone is the best if your racing. And they have 1000's of maps. That is why there is no video of each tracks. There are at least 4 online races every week on VD as well.
@@QuickFlights I have them all, played them all, and now I only play Uncrashed now... mainly because the Level Load times are blazing fast, and navigating through the UI is blazing fast and straight forward. Once your settings are set up though, you just launch the game, click the map you want, and boom, you're in the game. You dont' have to click through half a dozen screens like Velocidrone or sit twiddling your thumbs waiting on the Load screen like Liftoff. They used the Unreal engine instead of Unity, so it looks a little different, maybe slightly subpar to Liftoff, but the map loads are 20x faster that Liftoff which makes a world of difference. You'll be asking, how did they do that! Its so fast.. at first... Compare Uncrashed's "The Docks" Unreal engine graphcis vs. what you already know, Velocidrone's "Coastal" Shipyard Level or Liftoff's "Hanger C03" level and you can decide for yourself before you buy: ua-cam.com/video/V08EUz4GwHQ/v-deo.html
Velocidrones UI IS HORROID. somehow the old ui slightly better lol the new ui is so dated looking and it takes so many clicks to get around the chunky menus. The controls feel less floaty than DRL though so Velocidrone is my preferred.
It's a addon that implements a gamemode, you wouldn't say Microsoft Flight Simulator is a game just because you can have addons which allow you to fly boats...
If you watched the video I said that VelociDrone was more racing orientated and Liftoff was better for Freestyle to put it simply (plus a bunch of other factors that would depend on personal preference). Depending on what type of flying you do more I would choose accordingly.
@@QuickFlights I understand exactly what you said but the point remains that YOU made a comparison and YOU refused to make YOUR decision known. Since you have compared both products, you are the expert compared to us. you are going to be able to make your own decision better then someone watching your comparison video that doesn't provide an ultimate answer.
