When a tree from a video is more fascinating than any other groups entire catalog LoL Everything about them is magical. Their demos are better than anyone else's records and when they speak it always commands attention, simply the best.

Fascinating this. Just a small thing, Strawberry Fields and Penny lane were recorded at the start of the Sgt. Pepper sessions which began in November '66. Revolver was released in August' 66. I think this is right!
Oh nooo, you are correct... I've gotten it mixed up with 'Paperback Writer', which i'm also doing a video about. Thanks for pointing it out to me
They were very busy - last tour August 1966 and straight to the Studio to record Sgy Pepper

And they both appeared on the US release of the Magical Mystery Tour album

Well done! You’ve got the location of the tree (stump) right. I was at Sevenoaks School back then, and I was on the golf course that evening and there when the Beatles were recording that part of the Strawberry Fields video! The tree was on the left side of the 7th hole at Knole Park Golf Club. But it wasn’t an oak. It was an old fir tree…

@uncled39 I was there yesterday checking out the trees this isn't the stump there's a pic online of them standing and a mini car on the road behind them, right next to Ringos ear, you can't even see the road that the mini is on from where this tree stump is, the tree stump is further down the hill

Great job. Finding the site of the tree. I enjoyed that.
My family lived in Sevenoaks up to a 4 years ago. My farther in law who sadly passed away recently remembered the Beetles coming down.
His dad worked at knole park so found out on the day they were coming - so he drove to the school took his son and daughter out of school for the day - he must have been 9 or 10 I guess.
There were quite a few people there kept back by a rope - when the beetles arrived there was a lot of pushing and the crowd broke the rope and rushed forward - security managed to stop everyone except for my farther in law who rushed up to John Lennon
The security guard grabbed him but as John could see he was just a wee kid - he asked thd security guard to let him go and said “who have we got here then, right your have to come and meet the rest” then took him off to meet Paul John and Ringo !!! They gave him signed photos and stuff - I think it really does show the humility of the guys, how down to earth and neutering they were - he said they were so welcoming and friendly - he had a grand day - would have been nice to interview my farther in law but at least he recounted the story and listened before he passed away

Thanks for a wonderful video LT! My father introduced me to the Beatles and other 60s music. Especially British Invasion. It's wonderful how these parks are preserved. Btw...you said you're post will be on Paperback Writer? I grew up hearing that song as a small child. Oh God I love it's energy! It Rocked! I'm 60 now. It's still one of my favourites.

Hard luck mate, I live 10 minutes away from Strawberry fields & John's old house, 20 minutes to Penny Lane & 25 minutes to Matthew St, so I bet you could live in my shoes for a couple of days eh? I'm 68 now & often out of nostalgia I have a visit to Mendips & look up at the bedroom imagining John looking back at me, my sister used to go & watch them at the Cavern before they hit the big time, she married a Yank and emigrated to Ann Arbour in Michigan, still alive & misses Liverpool a lot. So from scouse land, as any of the lads would say ' see ya round lad.😊

I’m 64 and a huge fan of the Beatles since I first saw them on Ed Sullivan here in the states. Can’t imagine how awesome it would’ve been to hear them at The Cavern.

i was in the 87 storm at butlins in wales. sitting in the chalet and the loft hatch got sucked up. anyway, we ended up sleeping in the cinema for the night. great vid, love the beatles and have for 40+ years.

I have an ePal who sends me picture of huge red deer from Wollaton Park in Lenton. They've learned to tailgate to humans into the prts of the park they like best. Can't open the gates? No problem...the humans will do it for us! What a wonderful place the UK has become for it's citizens.

Just to clarify!… Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane were not part of the Revolver sessions. They were recorded in December 1966 at the beginning of the Sgt. Pepper sessions. The Revolver album had been recorded between April-June 1966 and was released in August 1966. The Beatles producer George Martin said one of his biggest regrets was that Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane were not included on the Sgt. Pepper album - they had been released in February 1967 as a Double A-Side single and the subsequent Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album came out in June 1967.

They might've been worked on during Revolver but were recorded in late '66 long afterwards.

The two tracks mentioned here were NOT recorded during the Revolver sessions. They were originally recorded in 1967 (months after Revolver had been released) with the intention that they would appear on their next album - Sgt Pepper.
