A nasty company. I bought a watch from baltic and it ran 9 minutes fast per HOUR. They refused to accept it's return. I had to have my credit card company reverse the charges. RUN from this terrible company.
Ya some of there watches caught my eye so I started watching reviews of them and going in the comment sections to see what people were saying about them and found several people talking about issues they've had. Breaking to easy ect. That was enough for me to write them off. Tho some of them are very nice to look at.
They don't have a warranty? When did you try to return it? Has to be within 14 days. Otherwise you're not telling the entire story. And who says nasty anyway??? Lol
I mean, meh, it looks like a hundred others and I can get a Hamilton, Mido, Certina, etc gray market with a better movement and specs for same or less.
I like Baltic watches, they are solid. But their prices are not in line with what they give. You said it, they “elevated themselves”, with their boutiques in three cities around the world, bla bla bla. What that means to me is that I, the customer, will be paying more for them to get their name out there, but I am still getting a $300US (maybe) watch and paying $630US for it…oh and their honesty. I think their move towards opening stores to raise their profile was a bad one, they should have kept their online value proposition alive for a lot longer in my opinion, but hey what do I know, I’m just one customer.
I bought the blue Aquascaphe when they were on kickstarter. I opted for a BoR bracelet and a blue strap. A couple years later they emailed that they were releasing the white dial at a special introductory price. I love the white dial so I gave my cousin the blue version. Baltic is very good about communication and are very fast shippers!
I had great experience buying a micro-brand diver. It's a Lorier Neptune series 4. I love it because I find the overall design - case proportions, build quality, hesalite crystal, bezel to be great. Decent bracelet too ...The miyota 9000 series movements are super accurate too btw and maintenance on those can be done by any watchmaker....although I suspect it might just buy a replacement movement when it needs maintenance. Oh, and excellent customer service. (I have emailed them twice and one of the owners always emails me back.)
Have the same watch. I have the date version. Absolutely love it. I wear it daily, I love the hesalite crystal and polishing it after beating it up at the range or on the lake. And agreed, the Lorier founders are legit.
One of the things I DON'T like in the watch world is the phony "collectible" small production trend. Why go thru all the effort to design a pleasing watch, and then limit the number you make???? It's getting so common it actually turns me against a brand...
I bought the blue/gilt version on rubber when they were launched a couple of years ago. It's pretty and well made. This looks nice, but IMHO it's older brother is still better looking.
4:15 I think when a brand no longer fits the "micro" moniker but isn't big enough for "high street" or "big brand," what you have is probably something more like "boutique."
I'm usually not a white dial fan. But this one is very nice - especially with that texture. One reason I don't like white dials is that so many times they're matched with silver framed hands, and indices with silver surrounds, making the whole thing frickin hard to read. So the black framed hands and indices work great. I'd even like to see the indices have a thicker black boarder actually. Overall, a super looking piece.
I just wanna say that it’s been a pleasure to see how much this channel has grown! Being here since the first 2-3 thousand subs, it’s actually very relieving to see an honest channel like this, grow as much as you did. Cheers
G nice to see - and no shame in being late to this one 😉It’s one of their first and their best watches. I have had an Aquascaphe for a few years and it’s great as is the beads of rice it comes with. Their prices are ticking up a bit and I think they have had a few missteps with Chinese micro rotor movements but generally I am big fan of Baltic … though likely less of a buyer if their prices continue further upwards, which I suspect will happen. very best G
The indices would benefit from a bolder black outline and I'm not convinced by the solitary 12 in Arabic numerals. The textured dial is nice but it seems like they could do a bit more with it. It is nice but underwhelming in today's market IMHO. I *almost* think I'd prefer a Proxima and save my money.
Thank you for including the Aussie price! Jesus that exchange rate stings though! Over a grand Aussie on the BoR bracelet as I’d buy it! Actually looking more at the dual crown inner rotating bezel compressor style Aquascaphe in blue dial variant :)
I love mine but I bought the beads of rice bracelet making it a desk diver. Mine keeps near Chronometre time and the bracelet feels like silk on my wrist.
*A white dial diver might be "pretty" but I don't believe it would work well underwater. A really good looking, easy-to-read-underwater diver would be either a Seiko Turtle or a Doxa.*
Isn’t it weird how they say the watch is 40 mm, when in fact that’s just the bezel? The case is actually 38 mm and the bezel is 40. After I received mine, it stopped running the first time I wore it. Then I realized that I was wearing a 38 mm watch while I’m 6 foot 4. It looked ridiculous on my wrist. Unfortunately I had to send it back to France.
One thing about Baltic is that their designs make sense. Not a fan of their marketing and service, but they stand out visually. Which they shouldn't, it's just.. other watch brands don't make sense quite as often. They should. Watch brands, make sense! Here, Baltic for you. Learn from their looks
If you like white dial black bezel watches, why don't you try and get one of the San Martin white Meteorite black bezel Submariner homages in for review. I bought two of them and the dials are really nice.
Beauty must be in the eye of the beholder, to me this looks like a companies first watch, keeping the design generic and ‘safe’, and whilst well made, I would not call it pretty. When you factor in the price, it’s a hard pass from me. Just look at what is available from companies like Zelos (and others) for the same amount.
Seiko and Proxima (amongst many others) have watches that look almost identical. I'm not crazy about "pebble" finish dials. I think it's lazy. A more highly finished dial would be prettier. In fact my '65 ORIS from Steeldive has a perfect inky black dial and similar indices as here, but applied with lovely chrome finished plots and not "pressed" from the back like this watch shown here.
So are you saying that mb's aren't capable of making quality watches cos if that's the case I have to say your wrong. I own many and are of great build and quality. 🤔 Btw it looks bigger on your wrist I thought it looked small. It's a nice watch. Not my kind of watch but still a nice piece.
Trust me, it looks like that the entire population of earth became divers, and everyone needs only dive watches. The entire watch industry had never been this lazy in the last 100 years.
The dial is nice, but the bezel is a bit underwhelming. Overall it is quite pretty, amd shiny, and in the flesh maybe even prettier. However Baltic do not have a good reputation which is a red flag. Also the watch has to compete with a lot of of pretty cheaper watches that have just as good specifications. . It looks quite nice but because it is a Baltic no thank you.
@@ilikewatches Yes. That's an excellent point. And I can appreciate your position. I was hoping that as a new visitor, that comments could be nicer, might trigger a point of recognition. No watch company does sapphire bezels close to as well as Blancpain. I understand the gulf in price, but if it can’t be done reasonably well, stick to ceramic IMO. Ceramic can be done well for a reasonable cost and its look enhances the watch rather than cheapen its appearance.
Don’t believe the hype they pay every reviewer to say great things owned 2 different watches from the brand literally felt like plastic the moonswatch literally feels heftier
Pretty boring for my taste. To me the Nove Atlantean is so good my whole collection is gathering dust. Sold a few pieces, but the market is soft as baby 💩 right now.
You should not keep quiet about that 580€ is not the real price but before taxes. If I add the BoR bracelet I end up close to 800€. With that price point there is a ton of competition. So I‘d say Baltic are a little on the overpriced side. (btw have a look what they’re charging for their simple rubber straps: a whopping 53.55€. Seriously??)

Nope. This might be the "Prettiest" Diver watch in the market. But I do not know many men who are looking to buy "Pretty" Divers, ha ha 😆 PS: They should call this "Bruce Jenner "special" Edition". By the way, sorry but it does not look like a million dollars. Considering the movement and only having a silicone strap, I should say..... looks like more or less.$500 or so.

Obviously Baltic believe their brand name can mark up the price much higher even with generic design and specifications. 🤣🤣

Baltic watches are overrated Chinese watches.

I agree, that price was a surprise.... but not a good one. Sorry Baltic, but I'm not in the boat on this one for that kind of money.
I have a Baltic aquascaphe bronze brown. I love it! So wonderful what Baltic is doing.

Great review.
Nice watch.
Won’t be adding it to my watch case.
Baltic is hitting it 100% bang on! Very handsome designs and styles. Legit quality and value. Great to see a French brand succeed.
Tuxedo diver - nice. The grained black dial version with steel bezel and blue strap is also nice.
Clean, simple and beautiful. I believe this watch also has a twin in the Montoir MWMOD-01.
Yes...pretty much every other dive watch
It's a desk diver as it couldn't meet the dive watch specs with that bezel. Pretty is very subjective and I find it to be rather ordinary looking.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess.

If you like white dial, black bezel dive watches, you'll LOVE the Christopher Ward Trident Pro 300 I just bought 😉🤣
You don't really ever see the case and buckle at the same time, I have no problem with the finish not matching.
Baltics are beautiful for the money. My wife loves her hermetique on bracelet and strap. I’m torn between the aquascaphe and vulcain skin diver.
Excellent watch! It's basically the watch model this whole brand was built on.
That looks very nice, if I didn't already have a white dial montoir I'd be all over one of these 😎
*A white dial diver might be "pretty" but I don't believe it would work well underwater. A really good looking, easy-to-read-underwater diver would be either a Seiko Turtle or a Doxa.*
If we're talking small brands, I think Venezianico's Nereide is a better looking dive watch.
