  • Today I am taking you along to tour my fridge and pantry and share our recent grocery haul! This feels a little vulnerable for me, but every time I post one of my "meals we eat in a week" videos, I get several requests to share what I purchase for groceries. Since we just did a grocery pick up, I decided to finally show you what I normally like to purchase and what I always have on hand for easy meals!
Thank you to all those who have encouraged me to put a video like this together. I truly hope it was a help to you! What other grocery items are must haves in your home and why? I’d love to know in the comments below!

That was very interesting, and it gave me some ideas for myself. It saddened me, though, that you kept saying I don't eat perfect. At 65 years old, I've learned that seeking perfection only leads to stress and self loathing. I guarantee you that you're feeding your family much healthier foods than a great majority of people are. Processed foods in moderation are ok, IMHO. Looking forward to when you find the sourdough recipe you want. God bless.

It’s hard to eat healthy when the stores don’t carry a lot of organic items. You do what’s best for you and your family and don’t worry about any negative comments…you’re obviously doing a wonderful job for your family!!! Love you and your sweet attitude! 🙏🏻🤍🙏🏻☺️

What a phenomenal video! Yes, you are such a wonderful Mother & Wife by watching for your family’s health and well being! It’s not about what’s easiest and quickest as I see so many people purchasing pre-packaged meals, but about providing the proper nourishment, nutrients, and balance of the body’s requirements in food’s most whole and natural state. I was taught to predominantly shop the perimeter of the grocery store as a teen when I shopped for my mother…& that still holds true! Gardening was also something that my Mom, brother, and I did as a family as we were on a very strict budget, but it was the weekends of harvesting, canning, and prepping for freezing that I cherish so much, as I was doing those things as a kid & even currently, as an adult, alongside my Mom; I’m sure your boys are Big Helps like that, as well, and love to learn from their Mom!
You amaze me, Andrea, and you should be ever so incredibly proud of yourself as a Mother & Wife… I’ve seen alot in my years, from home visits with my profession and interviews with families across every level… you are truly an Angel on Earth in the way that you care and love your family!!! I sooo wish that every child had a mother even half as wonderful as you! Your parents are just gleaming with pride, I’m sure!💝

Anywho, I’m a nutritionist and my approach is all about quality and sourcing your food carefully…it’s definitely a process so don’t feel bad!!! I recommend starting with one food you eat frequently and replacing it with a higher quality one. ☺️Btw your home is so beautiful! I love your taste!

I also appreciate that you are showing food from Walmart and Aldi since those are my sources as well. If you weren't so busy, I would say you need a second channel for cooking! I do follow you on Instagram, so I do see you cooking and baking over there...it always looks delicious. Also, your family is eating wonderfully! Your real pantryband fridge tour was excellent! Thank you!

Sugar is sugar whether it’s coming from ice cream or fruit. Of course fruit has vitamins fiber and other nutrients as well which makes it a healthier choice than ice cream but if anyone judges you for ice cream in your freezer they are most likely a hypocrite lol. I loved your video!!

Andrea, We are about to launch a UA-cam channel and perfectionism has been my greatest obstacle to overcome. My husband keeps telling me people don’t want to see perfection; they want to walk with you and share the journey of real life. Of course none of us are perfect, but we’re all striving, growing and learning. After watching your channel for about a year, it’s been a blessing to see how you have made so much progress beautifying your home, raising your boys and serving God faithfully. ~Sarah T.

Andrea, Your frig and pantry are full of healthy foods. I think if you eat 80% healthy you are doing very well, and you seem to be hitting that mark or higher. I liked the way you organized your spices with the raised rack. I need to organize my spice cupboard and you gave me some good ideas for that space. I agree having healthy ingredients on hand gives you many options for making a quick healthy meal. I am also trying to source healthy meat options. I am considering some of the mail order options for healthy meat that come directly from farmers or finding a farmer in my area that I can buy some organic beef, pork and chicken from. Currently I also buy my organic chicken and ground beef at Aldi. I usually get my wild caught Salmon from Trader Joes. Thanks for sharing your kitchen. Don't be so hard on yourself you are doing a great job providing healthy food for your family. I love watching your videos.

Thanks for sharing a bit of your life with us. You're a jewel and a blessing!
I also keep Heavy whipping cream on hand ,not just for coffee or soups, but for quiche.
When I take my quiches to church for a meal, I get asked "what kind did you make this time?"
Usually my response is "Refrigerator Quiche." I look to see what vegetables, meat, cheeses I have
and play with it. I usually use several different kinds of cheese as well as seasonings.
Sometimes i use pie crust, sometimes I make them crust less.

I noticed that you keep your tomatoes in the fridge. I learned from cooking shows that they shouldn’t be refrigerated. I grew up with them being refrigerated too, so I tried leaving them on the counter and didn’t really notice a difference. Then I went back to putting them in the fridge and noticed the difference immediately! It’s a texture thing. Now I’m back to keeping them on the counter. You might want to just try it to see if you notice a difference too. Plus on the counter they’re another handy healthy snack! I also can’t put uncooked meat in the freezer or I never remember to thaw them! 😂 So instead I precook my meat containing recipes or keep them raw in the fridge and use them fresh right away. Ellie Krieger’s cookbook You Have It Made was a game changer for me because she not only gives cooking instructions but also instructions for reheating from frozen without needing to thaw!!! Thanks for sharing. I’m sure it was a big help to a lot if people. None of us eat perfectly. It’s finding a good balance. Happy 1st birthday to Isaiah tomorrow! 🎂🎉🎁🎊🎈🥳

A great Vlog Ms. A! Such important information and reminders for others (like me) that what we put in our bodies is so important. I think people equate ORGANIC with $$$. And yes it can be going to places like Whole Foods or Fresh Market. BUT you can also go to Walmart and one of my faves ALDI. I regularly post a pic to a friend who only shops the costlier grocery store "look at all I got from ALDI for $40.00"! LOL. Your boys enjoy fruits and natural veggies, a tribute to you and the good habits you are instilling. I am going to refer back to this Vlog for the next time I need to do a stock up. I know there is room for improvement in how I eat - thank you A for steering me back to how important it is!

I agree with trying to source meat and even dairy is hard. I am not vegan because I do love cheese! but have never really enjoyed red meat. I remember my dad always grilled steaks in the summer. I was more about the baked potatoes then the steak! lol! I want to try sourdough but don’t have filtered water and keep forgetting to put water out overnight, but will get there soon. Being retired now and on a more fixed income we try to save wherever we can. TFS your pantry with us.

Oh about the spices, I alphabetize mine! It seems a bit obsessive but it makes it soooo easy to find what I’m looking for! And I’m with you on the Bubly. They used to have it for free in the fridge at work so I tried it, but just didn’t like it!

I know several people in the ag industry down by you, I’ll ask around about beef for you. When you do get your 1/2 cow I recommend shrink wrap and chest freezer is a must as they are not frost free and your meat keeps a lot longer and better.
I’m heading down your way in the near future for potatoes and carrots you guys have the best for the best price! I’m not above using deer apples for my apple sauce lol
Like I said some day you need to take a road trip to Williams in Linwood for cheese I think you’ll be impressed.
Do the boys ever see the beet hauler’s this time of year? My guys (big and little) 😊 always enjoyed seeing all those trucks hauling beets

Thank you so much for all of these suggestions! I really would love to find grass fed beef locally, that would be a dream! And yes, beet season is almost here! Always lots of trucks 😊

I've gotten so many ideas for meals in this video, thanks for the tip about making marinades I wouldn't have thought of the maple syrup for that. I love Bubly as well so I'm with him on that but my favorite brand is Polar Seltzer (not sure if you have that in your area)

Thanks for sharing your pantry and frig contents. You are doing great No need to be perfect. Only thing I do different is the sugar. Being diabetics requires a little different outlook on sugar. For me maple syrup, honey, ate same as domino cane sugar. I am not perfect. Once in long while I have little treat. No one eats perfect. You are doing great.

Thank you for sharing with us. You mention your desire to improve the quality of some of these ingredients, and I'm wondering if you've heard of Azure Standard? You can get your basics like unbleached organic all purpose flour, honey, oats, etc.

Please don't make excuses; your options are realistic and are very healthy! Do you use Wal-Mart grocery delivery? I have never used any delivery but I like all the organic options available. We don't have an Aldi in our town yet...

It is super simple, but you need to have kefir grains to begin with. I got mine from a friend, but there are a lot of places you can find them!

I LOVE kefir! I get raw milk to make it and it is so yum!! Simple is always best for the foundation of meals and go easy on the boxed and canned goods. I always heard to shop the majority around the outer edges of the grocery store and very little in the middle. Good job mama.❤️

You eat very healthy...even though not perfectly. Over the past few years I've been incorporating vegetarian meals into my diet. I do enjoy meat, but don't need to eat it every day. I find about three vegetarian meals a week is easier on the budget and definitely beneficial to the body. Beans and lentils can provide good protein and can be prepared in interesting ways. As for drinking Bubly it has zero calories and is so much better for you, than soda pop. There is no sugar, no sweetening chemicals and yet it is fizzy and provides a beverage with some appeal. I like the lime.

Do you have an Azure Standard drop near you? It really saves money when buying in bulk and i think their organic items are usually cheaper than the store. Their products are very high standard as well

How long have you been doing clean eating , or not processed stuff. Did you grow up eating that way or just decide to do it after you had children? I know I like sweets so that is the hardest thing. So I try to eat sugar free items to cut back on the refined sugars. It is not easy if you have not eaten healthy for a long time it does take discipline to do it. So that is awesome that you are doing well with it.

Girl you eat how you want. We are always being told what to do over things we can’t control, so at least no can tell us what to do on eating yet.
