This is brilliant Ben. I have been following these tips myself, glad to know that i was not doing anything wrong. General people not filming nature/wildlife will advise against most of these 😀. But in woods, indoors, tight spaces these tips makes lot of sense. These kind of video topics really help. Keep them coming. 👍
Great tips Ben. I've experienced myself not having turn off RHT while flying inside a forest. It ended up bashing up and down into the branches as it wanted to gain height and return home...
I just found your channel! Your content is great. Ill make my first cinematic short movie soon. Do have any tips on combining animal footage with drone footage?
It depends on what your drone footage is of. Usually it’s a good way of showing as an introduction to the habitat then cut on to the animal. But if you’re careful not to disturb the animal, you can also film them with a drone or use the drone to give an animal’s POV.
Yes! you should always check that you’re not flying in an area (or manner) that will cause undue harm or distress to any animals. However I know quite a few biologists and ecologists who use drones as part of their research, so when used correctly they can be a useful tool.
Thanks mate:)
Really cool 😎 You have a new subscriber
Thanks Jurek!

Cheers Kiran, yeah it’s quite different when flying in the woods. Glad you found the video helpful. 👍
Nice tips, Ben. Keep them coming!
Thanks Arjen, loads of Ideas 💡 I just need to get out and film them!
@@BenTutton great! And filming takes time, I already learned 😉
Great video Ben! Please post more wildlife filming tutorials !!

Cheers Marcos! It’s something you’ll only do once! Hopefully the drone survived?
@@BenTutton Yes Ben, it is something it won't happen again for sure. It did survive but with some scratches on the propellers.
Great footage and brilliant tips here Ben! I’ll be putting what I’ve learnt into practice 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Cheers! Don't forget tripod mode! I nearly crashed on my first flight for this because the drone moved a lot faster than expected 😬
Nice one Chief! We’ll have to experiment shooting at 30fps instead of 25 :)

Surely, tip No.1 is not to fly a drone in a designated Nature Reserve, as they are not favoured by ecologists?
