    I bought a 500 in 2015, still have it, and from time to time I think about selling it but man it just works so well with hundreds of hours on it, rallies, rips on the weekend and a couple multi-day trips.

      They are solid bikes. I always hear how unreliable they are yet I've put about 85 hours on mine so far with nothing but oil changes and air filters. I have run into one annoying problem specific to the 2020+ and that's the upper engine mounts tend to crack. I had to get mine welded but there's aftermarket options starting to come to market now.

    A great demonstration of an EXC-F on an MX track! Just wondering, after a few laps, were you wishing you were on a smaller MX 2T bike? Or perfectly happy staying on the EXC-F?

      At the time of recording this video I also owned an RM250 two stroke and found I wasn’t very comfortable on the 500 on the main track for a few reasons. Mainly, the stock suspension was far too soft for the bigger jumps. My other two issues were the DOT tires didn’t work well on that particular track, and the wide ratio gearing was awkward for an SX style layout. I ended up taking the bike to Hardrock Cycle park after doing the exhaust/GET ECU and the bike was phenomenal there outside of the soft suspension!

    I bought a 500 xcf-w last month finally getting a trailer this weekend hopefully I can get my butt into a trail. Been a pain in the ass trying to find a harness to wire in signals so I can make it legal to ride on the road. All I want to do is ride my first bike.

    The wr450f is similar in the fact that it’s street legal, can hit trails, can hit the mx park.

    Once you do the muffler, ecu, and tires, you will not have any need for the rm anymore. If you think the power is good now, just wait till you make those changes. There are some very offroad oriented dot approved tires.

    • @JGreenwood238
      @JGreenwood238  2 роки тому

      You were right, I did the muffler, removed reeds, Athena ECU, new tires and a few other things. I ended up selling my RM250 and my YZ450 🤣

      I now have full dirt tires, exhaust, removed intake reeds, & a GET ECU. Also picked up a Supermoto setup that I flop back and forth between. Only issue I'm having now with the full dirt setup is the bike is begging for stiffer suspension. I will post another video soon, probably one of each setup

    ya, im curious to see how it would be with proper knobbys, you can hear the engine working harder because of a lack of traction. I was looking forward to this video. I just bought one yesterday and im super excited, i sat on it while i was there and it feels just like my 250 sxf. Thats great to hear that it can handle the track because im looking to do some hare scrambles which where i live are about 45% mx track and 55% woods. With some mx tires i think this bike would be fantastic.
