the developer just bought a large pack of assets and code/projects and mashed it together. This look likes the stuff I made learning Unreal Engine 5.
UE5 stuff would look a lot better than this. Even with pre-bought asset packs. Looks more like a Unity asset flip.

You Guessed it right ... I work in unreal engine and i recognise all the assets in the game. They are just free assets either permanently free and also the monthly free ones combined with Query collection megascans

Honestly, I'm really surprised we don't have an actually good game in this setting, everyone does medieval stuff, but the Wild West is an amazing place for such a game.

I totally agree. Such an amazing setting! And a setting that a lot of people like. Hopefully we'll get some in the future. An open world survival/crafting/building would be perfect.

Render Cube is the dev company that did Medieval Dynasty; They are a small studio and currently working on updates for Medieval Dynasty - one being co-op is a lot of work - so they are not available for the other games in the franchise, all due for release this year: Wild West, Sengoku and Pirate's Dynasty.
C-grade Franchise designed by committee. Reminds me of the german tradition of shitting out barely servicable simulator games until one sticks.

They should focus on finishing one game .. i like medieval dynasty . And idea about wild west is also pretty good and sengoku !! But i believe many projects with small team drops game quality..
Especially those bad quests and dialogue.. it break immersion

But the problem is that this is not the same developer. It is the same publisher... not the same devs. I had high hopes for this and sure it might still get better, but you can't compare it to Medieval Dynasty just because of the name.
@@askers_Getting all the buildings, completing the main quest and creating a self sufficient town is the point of the whole game, what kind of dumbass question is that? This is like saying: "Total war is boring because I already conquered all my enemies so what now? "
The falling through world is the easiest thing to fix too. You just have another layer below the world that respawns the player on contact.

@@rashidhumine Nobody is forcing you to buy the product. You can simply wait for Early Acess to end then decide. Some people may want to buy the game early so why not allow them to do so? Having a choice is never a bad thing...

Imagine going to a Car dealer and they showcase Cars without any Steering Wheel and then have the audacity to ask for Money for those cars.. The Car Dealer says oh Steering Wheel will come to you in a Years time..
Mate I love that. Games ARE supposed to be immersive, fun and make you feel good. That's the only rule in my book for it and it seems less and less games actually achieve this for me
I think the dev of Medieval Dynasty is currently working on Sengoku Dynasty, which is looking way more promising.
They are not. Sengoku Dynasty is gonna be yet another developper studio. The ones from Medieval Dynasty are currently working on a big update that's coming this year for Medieval Dynasty (co-op).

Sengoku Dynasty is being made by Superkami. Medieval Dynasty was made by Render Cube. Not the same studios.

Totally agree. I bought it (not knowing it was different developers) however the fact that it is marketed as a 'Dynasty' game made me buy into it as Medieval Dynasty is amazing. Honestly, like you, I could not believe how bad it was when I booted it up - 20 minutes I lasted and then downed tools on it. I havent refunded as I will live in hope and revisit in 6 months or so. But 110% agree with your assessment of this. I fail to understand how Toplitz as a publisher let this through the net when they must have known there would be Medieval Dynasty comparisons. The studio and Toplitz have failed dismally thus far - total shocker.
Reminds me of everything being titled "Something Tycoon" after Roller Coaster Tycoon's success, although they were in no way related to it
People who make this crap do the following:
1) Download Unity (or another engine)
2) Buy or download assets (art,sound,GUI, etc)
3) Slap it together and call it "Early Access" hoping enough fools buy it.
Kind of wonder though if trying to link it to Medieval Dynasty was the devs idea or the publishers, either way they knew this wouldn't sell on it's own
I'm agreeing with this video. I'm so sick of people defending sh-t like this by saying "it's early access, what did you expect". Yes it's EA, but this isnt even close to the quality to be an EA title. This game, in its current state, is, *at best* a Pre-Alpha.
There's one youtuber in particular thats doing a playthru of this, defending this game with that same old silly statement "it's early access, bugs are bound to be plentiful". Ofcourse he says that, he got the game for effing free, and claims he "would buy it even if he didnt get it for free". I highly doubt that.
Now videos like this is actually honest and to the point. Not someone that defends the game in hopes to stay in the good grace of the devs/publisher.
Personally I do NOT mind that this game is a trainwreck at the moment. I just feel sorry for 1. the people wasting money on it right NOW. 2. the devs themselves.
This game shouldn't be in EA just yet. It should still be in alphatesting within the studio. This 'product' was released WAY too soon to the public. And look at the Steam reviews. Good luck to the devs trying to turn this impression and opinion around down the road. They've really shot themselves in the foot, made themselves the steepest uphill path they could've managed.
This game IMO, will hopefully, maybe, be worth trying in 1-2 years from now.
I got no 'hate' against this game. I really want this game to succeed. But I 100% agree with the negative reviews of this game. This isnt even a game.
It really behaves like a project made by two high schoolers over the weekend.
The graphics are horrible. The performance for such poor graphics are even worse. Physics is ..hilarious - not in a good way.
The dev didnt even know what exclusive fullscreen mode means. The game cant decide or understand what windowed mode is, fullscreen, borderless, etc etc.
Sure some people (mostly shills, and those already wasted money on it) will keep defending it. Ofcourse they will. But the negative reviews should really be taken seriously, this game is NOT close to be worthy of that price tag. This pile of dung, is worth maybe $5-8 at best.
But as I said, I feel mostly sorry for the devs working on this game. I dont think they really wanted this to be in EA yet. Do know that the publisher has barely any good game under the belt. Their 'best' being Medieval Dynasty. But that's it, the rest of their library is just a horrible arcade-ish kinda games. Yes they are not proper arcade game, but what I mean is, the control and gameplay FEELS arcadish. Very stiff and clunky gameplay and movements. This game is just like those other games (exception being MD).
Does this game deserve that massive negative opinion it has at the moment? Yes, oh hundred times yes.
People gotta stop defending trash like this with "but it's EA it needs time to mature". FFS, make the game at least somewhat playable and enjoyable BEFORE releasing it on EA. Right now, what the devs/publisher has done, is made some people pay waaaay too much money, to beta...no alpha test the game for them.
I would buy this again if it was $5. But the current pricetag, for this trash? The balls of this publisher. Yikes.
Meanwhile you have the devs, working their butts off(hopefully) to make this a good and cool game. And now they see how much dislike their game is getting. It gotta be a kick to the morale for them. All because this horrible publisher got greedy, and threw this game out on EA mooooonths before it was ready for the public.
I would say to anyone considering buying this...just go throw the money in the nearest toilet. It's literally the same sh-t.
Return maybe late 2024, then this game might be somewhat enjoyable.
The devs will most likely release tons of patches in the coming days and weeks. And people will lose their smarts again and go "see, they listen, they're fixing the game, told all you haters it would be good". Seriously, everything in life, be it a product, or a person, only gets ONE first impression. This impression this game has given the 'world' right now, will stick with them for a long long time. And it will affect the sales. Which is sad, because IF (no guarantee) this game ends up becoming really good in a year or two, people would still avoid it due to the massive dislike ratio to it.
So as I said, they have shot themselves in the foot here.
Everything in the game atm, is either broken, so super dumb. On occasions the game tries to be funny. Like there's a couple of NPC's either singing a line from a song, or referencing to something in the Real world. Problem is, this is the Wild West, but they're refering to things that happened maybe in the year 2018 or something. Like that npc that sings a line of a certain song, that I believe came out around 2017 or thereabouts. How the f-ck would this NPC know of this song a century before it was made? It's ok they try to be funny, but this is really bad. And for those trying to immerse themselves, it's really hard. Say this is at the end of 1800 something, lets say 1890 (honestly dunno what year this is supposed to be), how can someone in 1890 know of a song that comes out in 2017? Immersion is out the window. Though, its impossible to immerse yourself in this game to begin with lol.
Cut down trees, and watch they fly away like a rocket. I had floating trees and stones here and there. There's SO many bugs. Which makes me certain that this is not even out of pre-alpha. Yet greed made them put this on steam, to make money from 'not-so-smart' gamers.
But thankfully people were ready to give honest bad reviews for the game. That will hopefully teach this horrible publisher a thing or two. Probably not though.
This game might be worth checking in on again somewhere at the end of 2024 at the earliest. As I do hope this will turn into a gem eventually. There's not enough games of this type in this setting.
As mentioned, its sad that this wasnt made by the same team that made MD. Because right now, the current devs, really do come off as two high school kids releasing a project they slapped together over the weekend.

Against the Storm is a really great example of how EA games should be. In fact, AtS is so polished, it's better than many fully released games.
I agree. It's incredible to think it's an EA game when the current state is that it feels like the new race is more like an expansion than an EA update.

Yeah I think this is just a case of the publisher going: "Oh hey Medieval Dynasty did rather well, let's pick up some other similar games, change their names to something Dynasty and call it a franchise. Doesn't matter if the games suck, people will buy because of the name."
Red flags were raised when they had to delay the launch by an additional hour due to technical issues. While things do happen from time to time that delays a launch, something seemed off. That is when I realized this developer hasn't made any other games and that was enough for me to re-think purchasing it until after I had seen some streams of it being played. Instantly removed it from my wishlist after the first video went up.

It's a real shame this released in this state. Granted, it's early access, but I think there still needs to be a base standard entering early access, which this game seems to miss by a large margin.
I was very excited for this too. While I do like Medieval Dynasty, I'm not really a fan of the medieval era. A wild west take on it is something I really hoped to see, especially after how little Rockstar did with Red Dead Online. Makes me worry for Sengoku Dynasty too, as that's base on an era I absolutely adore.
I'll still be watching this to see if they can turn it around somewhat, but damn.... what a mess.

There’s a real Stockholm Syndrome thing going on with the defenders of this game. Their rallying cry is “Hey, don’t people get that this is early access?” They genuinely believe that a broken mess of an alpha build is well worth spending £20 on. As for me, I got a refund after it crashed the system of my Steam Deck twice because it overheated so badly. The first time was after I tried placing a fire on the ground and the second was when I approached the hermit’s farm. The devs appear to be witless and out of their depth but I think Toplitz deserve the most blame for this. They signed off on this and probably pushed the devs to publish too early. That said, the German cowboy accent at the beginning least got a laugh from me. That’s the one good experience I had from this game, other than the quick and hassle free refund.

I would love to play a open world cowboy survival game. I tried RDR2 multiplayer hoping I could play it straight but the griefers were a nightmare.

Any online game made by EA, Ubisoft or Rockstar , you can completely forget it. Tried playing R6 siege the other day, and was getting flash banged by my whole team on competitive , shooting my wall breaches. Gave up and sat in a corner in the end.

Hearing the name of the game, you'd think it would be a colonial city builder where you take a barren patch of land, mine resources, set up trade routes and guard against hazards.
Thankfully I played Steamworld Builder, now that's a good little Wild Western city builder where it's also part mining.
It's less of a 'Wicky Wicky, Wild, Wild, West' and more of a 'Wonkey, Wonkey, Wild, Wild West'.

The title gives it away: Why call it "Dynasty" for any other reason than to mislead people. Cheap-cheap-cheap written all over.
The publisher actually has released other Dynasty games in the past (farmer's dynasty, lumberjack's dynasty). Medieval Dynasty did very well, but it's only the last in the franchise, not the first. So this game is not named Dynasty to purposely mislead people.

If you look at the publisher, they're putting out multiple of these games, Wild West Dynasty, Sengoku Dynasty and Pirate's Dynasty, none are made by the developers of Medieval Dynasty.
The GTA 6 pre pre alpha footage looked more developed than this.

This seems like a game that a game programmer (in training) has made as a project, and decided to release anyways to see if they can make a few quid...
It's almost like this developer took what the previous developer did for Medieval Dynasty and said, "What if we do that, but in the Wild West and with PS2 graphics and shite performance?". What a shame, cause this could've been exactly what I was looking for but didn't get in Red Dead; being able to actually stake out a living in a western setting and actively impact the world. Early Access, yes. But this is like pre-alpha.
Honestly, Sengoku Dynasty looks far better, which is also a different developer than Medieval Dynasty, and that game is still in closed development.
Was really looking forward to playing this game but I can barely watch a video yet alone think about playing it. Its mind boggling to think devs think they can release games like this and then have people defending it just because its early access. It honestly looks like a 10 year old game with the graphics and animations. From what I have seen I don't have any hope for this in the future either. Medieval dynasty looks amazing and is a good game overall.

As a player of MD since early access, I can say that I refunded WWD. I think Toplitz contracted Moon Punch Studio to make sure that WWD has its devs full attention, just like MD has Render Cube's full attentions, keeping the game updated and new content coming in at a good rate. Moon punch failed at everything. In MD earliest stages, that game was raw and empty too compared to what is in it now. But its graphics and animations saved it for them. WWD graphics and animation are to dated to keep a modern player's interest. Using Unity engine only guarantees that it will stay that way. I think Toplits offered almost no budget for these devs because they also contracted two more games at the same time (Pirate's Dynasty and Sengoku Dynasty), and attached the highest expectations to gameplay. I think the devs got screwed here and because of that, us players got screwed right alkong with them

Early access is just I want to be a alpha/beta tester and I am so rich I'll happily pay for the privilege. Bugs are to be expected. Although I'll personally go to itch for my beta testing, rather than steam EA. Better avoid negative reviews by major UA-camrs until everything is polished and shiny.

Toplitz is a joke of a game publisher, all of their developers combined has less skill than say Max at Foulball Hangover or small devs like Coffee Stain. They literally are unable to implement the smallest bug fixes or QoL improvements that an average game designer can do within afew hours of learning UE4
I was so excited for this game to drop because I like Medieval Dynasty so much. I bought it when it first dropped and, after 20 minutes trying to play I quit and haven't touched it again. Maybe, after 20 or so updates, I might go back and try again. Worst game I've tried yet.

Seems like you'd be better off playing Heat. From what I remember, that has all the same mechanics with less bugs.
Course the best thing would be just creating a building and survival DLC to RDR2, because that would be amazing.
This is equal to the launch of the highly anticipated sequel Sheltered and they never recovered and its now dead. Shame to see this happening.

These guys didn't make Medievil Dynasty. It's the publisher that's the same, not the Dev. This is some crappy Polish Developer. A couple of them streaming the game on Steam sounded about as enthusiastic and excited as an accountant taking you through a spreadsheet.

The concept of early access has become a cancer now. And i'm also sick of people who defend these as "but it is an alpha game. What do you expect?"
Remember when games came out in full release only and with zero or minimal bugs? Nowadays full releases are unfinished as hell and look like beta builds, and early access games are some sort of cashgrab tech demos which are unplayable. Anyone buying early access games nowadays is also part of the issue. No developer on earth would deserv our money upfront.

Disappointed to say the least. Compared to Medieval, even considering this is early access, it's a complete disgrace. I had high hopes for this and this has given me concerns for the other Dynasty titles they've proposed. Talk about dropping the ball!
Its more than likely the publisher approached a dev studio with a wishlist and a small budget. This is what you get.

It's a shame the game sucks this bad and I'd very well blame the publisher changing devs too. I've seen that happen a few times and all but a handful does it actually not ruin the game. When I looked at the opening gameplay clips for this vid, all I could think was "Oh, so, another Indie dev stole the idea and slapped a western skin on it." because you can tell directly there's a down-tick in fidelity given that the graphics on this new title are worse than Medieval Dynasty which is a few years older.
