The reason these shorts are so impressive is that they tell a whole feature-narrative in three minutes or less, without seeming rushed! Half an hour would be wasteful.
I could spend HOURS watching these marvelous Gobelins shorts! They are all so marvelous! I LOVE all the crazy-amazing and wacky character designs in this one!
People are so quick to believe what they're told and then things can explode into chaotic madness...when in reality nothing happens and we're still alive for the next day. Some food for thought.
I love this. the animation is so expressive!! I also love that it shows different people's reaction to the impending doom... The teens absorbing all the info they can and thus becoming gloomy and frightened, the woman distracting herself by focusing on running the tournament, the father trying to feel a sense of control/security over the situation by seeking shelter, becoming manic when something goes wrong, and then just the people having fun and living as usual.
Encore une belle production ! Du premier abord j'avais des doutes sur le résultat final, mais ici aussi le résultat final me rend fier d'y avoir participé. Si d'autres élèves ont les mêmes besoins musicaux je n'hésiterais pas une seconde !!!
Its brilliant as it is but a half hour version has the potential to be incredible. Great job giving a sense of each character/motivations in such a small time frame.
It shows how the panic of a predicted end of the world can overcome the lives of everyone on earth, taking over their whole mentality. But in view of the universe (the rocket popping in the night sky) the earth’s absence would hardly affect it.
What will happen at December 21? Don't know? Me neither. So why worry about it? Whatever happens, happens! Its up to us to stay happy nonetheless. :3 And.. my birthday is on the 22nd.. and I am hoping for that day to come!
I kind of thought that the way the animated characters looked didn't fit in well with the backgrounds (that looked amazing) but it was pretty good over all
I don't think the ending was a great choice even though it was different. The viewer expects something big to happen when the rocket goes silent and the viewer enjoys it more if he or she was correct about it. If it's not what we expect, we get kinda disappointed. It's good to step away from the cliche, but in this case I felt that it didn't do any good. Or that's my opinion.
I disagree. Expecting something big to happen seems trite. Nothing happening is the better punchline. Why do we need to see an epic apocalyptic ending? Not getting what you expect seems fairly narrow-minded.

It's nice of you to add english subtitles to these animations.
I'd love to see this short expanded to a half an hour or so.
The idea of a banal minigolf apocalypse.
Ahaaaa That ending.
