I knew it had been a long time sine I dud a thrift with me. Looking back it was in August. I didn't realize it had been quite so long. So come along with me and let"s see what we can find to flip for profit or makeover to resell.

Dear Diana ~ I’m so sorry to hear of your loss of your daughter, your accident and yes COVID shutting us down!
It is always fun to go with Yvonne on her Thrifting trips. We too had an awful accident the week BEFORE COVID shut the world down. Have not been good since then. Husband is doing well…praise the Lord … but I have issue that prevent me from driving ( something happened in the accident that is rapidly taking my vision ) and almost passing out a lot. The Medical community cancels appts… or won’t let you make one ! Finally got in to a Cardiologist… all types of test and procedures…then 2 different Neurologists… tons of test, scans, etc… Finally back to my Spine Specialist … so RUDE… he says learn to live with it 🤷♀️ In other words…he can’t or wont be bothered with it !
I understand the isolation and sadness when we can’t get to, or physical can’t do stuff !
Prayers for strength, comfort and peace in your soul dear one 🙏🙏
Praying for you. UA-cam is a Godsend for so many that can’t always do what they once loved, or would like to do. Hang in there. I love Yvonne and Chris work, and sharing the wisdom and expertise.
I was absolutely floored by the markups here at our local goodwill store in northern Michigan . Never went back after that .
I 😘 ved the cobalt pitcher you passed on, the sewing chest that looked like a chest, the cocoa cola wooden box, and the wooden box with the carved top. You have helped me to think outside the box when choosing items to purchase.

Yes.. they are finely relaxing now. Still have some habitats that were created we’re trying to fix 😺
@@GingerChickRehab Yes that's always a problem, fixing it once it gets started. I have two chairs in the living room with big baskets turned upside down behind them so nobody can get back there. So far it's worked.

You got some cute things. And I agree. Goodwill has gotten out of hand. They should be selling things at a much lower price. It’s all gross profit for them and they pay there disabled employees next to nothing. Thanks Yvonne

Yes... as a responsible pet parent we need to do what is best for our fur babies. I love to see all the transformations. I've learned to see passed the colors etc. Yes my Goodwill has gone crazy too they are in a Walmart shopping center their close are as high as the Walmart NEW CLOTHING !?!?!

I have decided to take items to give away to some of my friends that have booths. Goodwill is supposed to be GOODWILL to others. We have only one in my area and the prices are very high considering everything has been donated

My area thrift stores prices are rising also. But the reseller markets aren't. It's kind of backwards. I still enjoy going and seeing what us out there and to get ideas! Thanks for taking me along. It made me slow down and enjoy a cup of hot tea.

Look for the new cement pig planter at Dollar General. It’s a chubby 5x7 for $6. Omg! Seriously so cute. I couldn’t find the birds either. On the hunt for those. Will have to venture out of my area. Can’t wait to see what you do to the little drawers. Ty

Couldn't believe those prices at that one goodwill! They get this stuff for free and then to mark it up that high is ridiculous! But its fun to see all the treasures you buy! Oh... happy Mothers day this Sunday!!💕
This was fun! I love the salt/pepper shakers! And I guessed you would pick up the bag of wood bits, even tho’ you really didn’t comment on them at the store. Our Goodwill prices aren’t that bad, but! They have minimal hard goods. They are packed with clothes. So disappointing!

Hey there, I’m sure you know but thought I’d mention....if you every are enticed to but old piggy banks or S & P shakers without stoppers, you can find them online. I bought a variable sized bag of 20 or 25 stoppers quite cheap on Amazon. I won on 6-7 at an online auction, and the stoppers fit perfectly. Banks were from the 1950’s or so.
I haven’t seen the little birds at Dollar General either. I hope they aren’t discontinuing them. Goodwill prices are getting crazy. The last time I was there I saw some really great items but left them behind because of the prices. I love the little canister set you found along with the salt shakers. Thanks for taking us on the “round robin”.

The price issue must be nationwide or either just in Michigan. I’ve experienced the same thing at all the thrift stores in the Flint, Lapeer area. You’re correct, there are hardly any shoppers and very low inventory. I really don’t understand, they get their inventory free. We buy to flip but what about those who are in need of some of the items?

Our GW is the same way here in SE Central Florida. Last few times I went lots of customers looking but complaining about pricing and leaving things on the shelves. Sadly our other thrift ships are starting to follow the same high pricing. 😢

You should come to SW Georgia and shop mugs! Our GW sells them for $1.00 each! I loved the little musical Nuns! We had a set on our piano when I was growing up and they brought back sweet memories! I am shocked at the ridiculous prices at that GW; makes me appreciate what we have here.
The pricing at Goodwill has gotten to be more like high end consignment shops. It's sad and ridiculous. What's the point?

Agreed! A lot of people who donate shop there too. And now they don’t give you coupons to reshop after donating. It’s a txt for a one time purchase. And no more after that. It discourages people from donations. Sad! Because we want to help the community and high prices don’t help.

Hi Yvonne … saw many items I liked ! LOL!! We went to our little grandson’s 5th Birthday 2 hours away on Sunday and we drove by (. KEY WORDS “DROVE BY” ☹️) some Goodwills , hubby wouldn’t stop ! If only they had a TRACTOR sitting outside maybe my chances would have been better ! LOL!!!!
Yes, some of those prices ? I don’t know if the employees got the $15.00 an hour pay increase… but many State have that issue with Goodwill and prices .
Crazy times… let us hope and pray things get better !

Watching you go to thrift stores is a great money save for me. I get to look at shelves and items without spending a dime. However...I would have gotten a couple of things had I been at the stores you visited. In Calif, nothing is cheap...rarely a bargain. Even paperback books can go for more than the original price. I remember the days when I would ask a dime but in the end...I just gave books away. I wanted people to read.

I’m jealous! Our Good Will, Salvation Army, and Habitat don’t even have BASKETS to push around!! 😩 All the ones you just showed are so much bigger, better stocked, and just nicely put together. Goodwill thinks they are a retail store even though they get everything for free,lol. I heard they had raised prices because of resellers. Who knows, I dont go anymore..I go to Ross. Their prices are reasonable.lol
Yvonne, seems like your Goodwills are like ours (except your is well stocked when here they are not); way over priced. Maybe us thrifters should unite and boycott them (and the Restore, too). The last time I was there, I spent .0. I don’t resell, so I can get by fine without buying anything. I am going to work on the projects I have on hand. Thanks for taking us with you.

Wow, yes, those prices are crazy! They get these items donated for free and anything they get is a profit. To charge such high prices is not reasonable. When they see less and less people are coming to shop then they will have to lower to prices.

Prices at the Goodwill’s in Jackson, MI are also v high. Lots of lookers; not so many buyers.
They told me at my thrift store that almost all the store what bought. Donations are way down. They had to increase prices because they are paying for inventory.
Prices are high here is NB and shelves are not stocked like they were before the pandemic!

Yes.. I bit.. when they know it’s something I’d usually buy.. I just say there’s no profit for me to make it over. I’ve actually said it quite a bit. But there’s also times, they offer me beautiful furniture pieces. 🤗
