Yvonne, we have the same taste in so very many of the pieces you buy! I live vicariously through you. I am in a wheelchair now and don’t really have anyone to go to shops and sales with me. But I’ve always restored and crafted with vintage pieces. I can still do it within reason of course. Large furniture is really difficult for me now. I love digging for stuff and dirt and barns don’t bother me one bit. I enjoy you so much honey!! You are a ray of sunshine for this old woman.

That green bucket is definitely my favorite. It is indeed an old ice cream bucket. I collect them, so I was in heaven when you decided to leave it as it was!! So amazing!
I just bought a ice cream bucket the same color as hers only in better shape with all the parts. I found it at our thrift store for 15 dollars. I have it in my bathroom with sunflowers and some greenery in it . I really love it.

Ahh, I bet watching Alex gather things for his first place is a little bittersweet. My kids are still in school, but I can't imagine the feelings a Mom goes through when they fly from the nest. I love that he has Fiesta Ware for his dishes! He will impress his dates when he cooks for them!

You could put your lil hippo by your door (inside) and put umbrellas in him or on your cupboard and put rolling pins in it. I can’t tell how big he actually is but he sure is adorable! Maybe it’s a she 🤷🏻♀️😊

As kids we spent a lot of hot summer days around a hand churned ice cream maker. We all had to take turns turning that handle. But the payoff was wonderful home made ice cream and a fresh picked watermelon from the garden. Some of the best times of my life.

How FUN that you had some mother/son time doing sales! He (and YOU) got some amazing stuff!! That butcher block table??!!! I love it when they're ready to lower the price before you even say anything. My son didn't like the idea of buying "other people's 'junk'" until he decided he wanted cast iron skillets and noticed the prices were crazy for new, but we were finding them for just a few dollars. He doesn't have much time to go out, because of his job, but he will ask me to be on the hunt for certain items & he has gone with us to vendor shops & seems to enjoy it. So that warms my heart.
I haven't had much time for sales this summer myself, but I sure would have gotten my hands dirty for those bowls/dishes!! I have done that many times and still would! I keep a tub of anti-bacterial wipes and Clorox wipes in my van for such occasions. I did go to a couple sales this past weekend and got a few awesome finds for $1 each! I got a really pretty gold mirror, an 18" pottery/stoneware snowman (think creamy shiny glazed pottery body with beige rough stoneware face) and a wood folding tv tray table. At another sale I got the coolest little vintage brass lamp for $2 & some darling white pillows for 25 cents each. I hit our new Goodwill store yesterday & almost passed out from the prices! Yikes! Almost makes me want to put up a sign in my booth that says: If you think MY prices are high, go check out the Goodwill! 😲 I did get a silver tea pot for $6, plus the matching sugar bowl & creamer for $5/set at GW though. I seem to talk a lot when I post a comment on your videos, but I just get so excited to see your finds. That means you do a wonderful job with your videos!

I used to make bread in my green Tupperware bowl!!! Alex made out like a bandit for his first place! His roommates are not going to have to bring much other than their bedroom sets!!! This is great for him.

My Kris brought down a old tool box from upstairs and when I went thru it past Monday-it was like a Christmas present of my Grandfathers old tools!!! That vintage Pyrex in those colors was quite the treasure! The Starburst pattern is so cool! So, you gotta do what you gotta do to bring it home. 😆 I'm glad you kept the hippo...he makes you so happy! And, he looks happy sitting there where you put him! Too cute!

Oh my goodness! What a haul. What memories for me. Those chicken feeders. I grew up on a farm and we raised layer hens from chicks and we had 3,000
Layer chickens and had chores gathering ang feeding at least twice a day. We had feeders just like that. (Chickens weren't in cages either. 3 huge chicken houses. Lots of eggs we sold!)
And the bucket. It was exactly like the one we had. It was a hand cranked ice cream maker. The hole was for water to come out as the salt around the insert canuster holding cream, etc. Melted as you cranked and cranked and CRANKED! Took alt of turning but we finally got homemade ice cream.

Yes I would dig for a treasure. I used to dig through my grandparents' chifforobe and army trunk. I loved looking through old pictures and any other goodies they saved in their history . It looks like Alex is set in the kitchen. I loved the haul. Til next time, bye!

Think your green bucket is ice cream churn bucket. Very similar to one Dad had when I was a child.
We had one when I was a child (im 73). I am the youngest of 10 siblings so i was always first to turn the crank. The longer we turned the crank, the harder it was to turn. Love when those forgotten memories come to mind.

My cats have that swinging chair and we zip tied it to the stand to make it stationary so my meows can get on it. I love the hippo. Me and my sister collect hippos as part of an inside joke. 😂

I am so glad you got the butcher block cart. I would have purchased it also...even with the damage it has. I am in love with Fiestaware. I have my Grandmothers original Fiestaware. When we would visit her, I would open up her wall pantry/cabinet where she kept it just to admire it. How funny Alex got all those license plates. Yesterday I found a 1958 Illinois license plate at a Goodwill. Never would I had thought I would find a license plate at a Goodwill. Alex has a great find! Thanks for sharing!

the green bucket is an ice cream maker bucket. the freezer part is not there. the hole is for lettiing salty water out so you can add ice and salt. i grew up with exact same bucket freezer!!!! you did GREAT! LOVE IT. YOU BET SOMEONE WILL BUY IT!! I WOULD IF I LIVED NEAR TO YOU...!!!

Watching on replay so you may have already found this out. The green bucket is an old ice cream maker. The hole on the side is for one end of the turning applicator to go into. The opposite side would have had a hinge to clasp down the other side of the turning mechanism. When I was very little my daddy would have me sit on top of the mechanism for him to turn the handle. Hahaha. Brings back many good memories. And yes my backside got very cold sitting there.
Definitely would have gone and beyond to get to anything worth getting to. I loved the bucket and I’m a sucker for old gas cans 🤦🏽♀️ have several.

I believe the old bucket was an ice cream churn. You can see the hole and notches for the handle and lid with crank. My grandfather had one like that. Your make overs do inspire.....Now to tackle my patio.....

Just wanted you to know I’ve been watching you for the past year and you were amazing. I just did a hope chest that belong to my mother’s mother her dad built it it was an old ugly reddish themed thing and I painted it white and did some of the roses IOD transfers on it and it’s beautiful I’ll try to share it if I can.

Love those too but they were out of stock. I got the industrial master board as I wanted the green part, lol. Then I saw were someone redid a purchased canvas picture and I was like " heck, now I'm going to need more paper".

That little mail box ohhhhh 💕..thank you for sharing you know I watch you all the time..I too am a picker and crafter MUTHER JUNKERS signs and DESIGNS..Oh I gotta tell you I picked up this beautiful cabnit on side of road and could not believe I found 3 Bibles that they thew in the trash!! I was very upset at that and brought them home...I wish I could show you them....so old color pictures just couldn't believe that someone would ever throw away a Bible!!

The green bucket is the outside bucket of an old fashioned ice cream maker!! The hole allows the ice/salt water drain away so it won't go into the inner ice cream bucket! We live in west central P A and Love making homemade ice cream with the snow!

I can’t even pic a favorite. But that old green bucket immediately took me back to my childhood when we would break out the old ice cream churn. It took FOREVER to make that ice cream!
