- It's time for a change. After going to Tokyo 10 times, it's now time to see a different side of Japan. The inaka, the japanese country side! I'm excited to show you this other side of Japan, I came across some really interesting things here!

Gifu an Nagano are my favourite prefectures in Japan! Can't wait to come back this year and explore the rural areas! Awesome video! Just subscribed.
Nagano is really good too! A lot of onsen there. Thanks for the sub! I got a lot of inaka videos coming up!
Love Japan and Japanese countryside.
That makes two of us!
@@KokoroKompass I didnt spend much time in the rural villages of Japan when there years ago and mostly just gazed at them while on train trips between the large cities. I have lived in rural Australia so to me many of these places are not so isolated like people think. If I could I would buy a house in or near a small town and spend at least part of the year there with my young family. I worry though aboutt hidden costs and taxes of doing this that sprukers online may not be mentioning. My dream would be somewhere I could jump on a train into town if needed but also have space for an orchard and garden. Some where my children could attend local school perhaps. Still a dream but I think for my children it would be a great experience before they are grown up. Sorry for such a long winded comment. I have many questions to ask those that have gone down this path.
@@fatwombat2611 Oh yeah austraulia has some places in the middle of nowhere haha. I'm from the Netherlands, and such places don't really exist here. So for me it was quite remote haha.
I hope you can make your dream come true!
The part with the kids and the drone is priceless!
Haha yeah they were so surprised to find a youtuber way out in the countryside! I hope they found this video somehow
amazing footage! thank you for showing this side of Japan! Subscribed
Thanks! I hope you can see it for yourself one day!
Love it!!! Awesome
That place looks wonderful! Also, I think your pixel art is so cool!
Best wishes with your travel videos. 😄⭐
Haha thank you! My day job is making games! The channel is growing quite slowly but I’ll keep trying!
Ay ay ay, the steps! Always with the 1000 steps to these lovely shrines and temples. They put you thru rather an ordeal for the experience.
Yeah I love it when theres a long pathway or steps! It really adds a lot of anticipation to the experience!
Wonderful thank you for taking us.
I'll be taking you many more exciting places!
@@KokoroKompass very relaxing and your background music nice

Thank you! Yes it’s amazing here, I don’t think there’s any place more peaceful than the Japanese countryside
(0:42) Breathtaking!
Yeah you really gotta be lucky that there's no clouds covering it!

Love Rural Japan. Keep it up, bro.!
Thank you brother, will do!

@@catholicmeditation1560 Awesome, thanks so much! Getting ever closer to 1000 now!
@@KokoroKompass yes! I mean I thought you have thousands of subscribers because of your video quality. You deserve lots of subs.🤟
@@catholicmeditation1560 Thanks! Yeah I wish haha, but it's heading in the right direction!
hehey, a fellow dutchie. I just arrived in Taiwan myself. Great video
Taiwan is next on my list of countries I want to see! Enjoy!
Would love to see what homes are like and a few small town shops
I didn't really feel comfortable filming someone else's house, but I will be back in Japan again soon and if I get the chance I'll film it!
Love the content. The audio mixing could improve though. Sometimes the music would swell and id have to turn the volume down for a second or 2! Lol. I mean this with respect. Keep up the great work!
Ahh yeah sorry about that! I got lazy and use automatic damping whenever I talk, it doesn't always work well haha
I could be happy there
It's so peaceful!
subbed
Thanks!
You got a new Sub!
Woohoo! Hopefully the youtube algorithm is getting more kind to be haha. Just out of curiousity, how did you find me?
@@KokoroKompass the video felt very nice and calm and you seemed natural with camera 😃
@@officialabdulrehman Thanks! But I meant, where did you come across the video? Haha
@@KokoroKompass algorithm xD
Right on my feed if I recall correctly xD
@@officialabdulrehman Ohh, then that's a good sign! :)
Hmmm pretty big for an Inaka. And the bells are not for evil spirits…it’s for bears.
Yeah hikers typically use bells like that for bears too! But kids get told it's for warding off evil spirits, maybe it's a white lie haha
i really enjoy ur vids, great videography, editing and a nice cadence. i was wondering how difficult it is to get permission for drone footage since they prohibited it in around 2015 i think without prior written permission. i was oblivious to this until i spoke with some officers in a local koban. there is some government entity where you have to detail exactly when and where you wish to film. the hard thing is, apart from not knowing exact details of when u wish to fly, but i believe the approval process can take over a month.
Thanks! That process is only for red zones in densely populated areas. For less dense areas you simply register the drone. Since this is in the countryside I could fly pretty much anywhere. Tokyo is pretty much all a no fly zone though
@@KokoroKompass oh k, i will have to look into it. i was told by police in takayama, gujo hachiman, shirakawago and tomonoura. with tomonoura, that was where they explained the process i need written permission for any place in japan even in areas not built up. i asked if i could film way out of town over the water. they said no. id love to take my drone back again but i will def try and get some more clarification - the poor officer called about 5 different ppl, i was there for over an hour, i just really wanted to go in the end but felt embarrassed so waited through the process. :)
@@Its_just_me_again That's strange, because that's definitely not true.
@@KokoroKompass oh i hope so :) like i said they said it was a new law. the prev few times i had no issues with the drone. im excited to think i may be able to again
@@Its_just_me_again I flew in January last time, I'm notsure if it changed sibce then. Just look on the japanese aviation website and you can read the guidelines!
Things are so much easier for foreigners when you are with a Japanese national.
Yes that's very true! But I have stayed in Japan for years by myself too, and it's still doable! It kind of adds to the adventure haha
I wanna go to Japan so bad
Follow your dreams, no one can stop you!
2:24 "600 kilometers from Tokyo". Wow! Gifu City is 394km from Tokyo. Did you get blown off course?
Oh I might have gotten mixed up with Kyoto, which was our next destination!
@@KokoroKompass Anyway, nice vid. 😀
@@earlysda Thanks! Theres still a lot of Japan videos left to edit, but I've been quite busy lately
Wow, in a few years there may be more gaijin in the countryside than nihonjin
I didn't meet any other foreigners in the countryside so I doubt it :p
Oh you’re in Gifu? Never been there…I am in Hokkaido ….i myself will be moving soon it seems…I will know by end of this year,.
Oh Gifu is pretty nice! It's very peaceful, but maybe a little bit too peaceful to live permanently haha
@@KokoroKompass in these times, “peaceful” is a figment of folly! Haha stick around…who knows!
Hey welcome to Japan! Where are you?
I'm traveling around, so I'm never really in one spot haha. But Tokyo is usually my base!
@@KokoroKompass hope u drop by Hokkaido..I’m staying in a rental in Shinsapporo but next year summer, I want to look for something in the country, an old Akiya that I can clean up, with a big garden to put my African greys, plant a veggie garden, keep chickens, go totally off grid…I thought of going solar but I heard there is a devise for $46/- that helps off-gridders settle an easier electric bill! Definitely interesting & according to reviews, they say it works…maybe that’s one of the reasons utilities have increased!
@@lrll5745 I won't have time to make it to Hokkaido this time unfortunately, but I need to see it one day! Sounds like you got a good plan!
Guaranteed to be popular in remote areas. But whether they greet you with pitchforks or smiles is kind of a toss-up.
I was welcomed everywhere with a smile, Japanese people are very friendly, even more so in the countryside!
Pitchforks? 😂 Where are you coming from to expect that
@@user-fn3vy4ug2n it's just an expression 😂
Whats with the mask outside or at all?
People here don't want to infect everyone around them when they have a cold. Also, global pandemic, might have heard about it.
there are no 7/11 groceries stores in the countryside? jeez thats why people leaving
There are ofcourse, 7/11 is everywhere!
@@KokoroKompass even in the countryside? In south korea there are 7/11 everywhere in 5 mins walk max even in the most rural areas. I saw on airbnb some houses in the countryside of japan and the owner says there are no convenience stores within walking distance :(
@@waterblastfestivals-id1sc In the countryside they might be a bit out of the way yeah. But they are still open 24/7 somehow!
Them spirits do like money don’t they
Gotta have some money to enjoy luxury in the spirit realm!
No matter where you go, that's where you are.
Find a bible, boss. 😘
Don't film little boys. And don't say they want to be in your video.
One of their older brothers was there, he said it was okay to film. I know filming children is a difficult topic in Japan.
Nice video
Thanks !
