Absolutely love your videos! We have just bought a 150 year old akiya in Shimane and are very inspired by your stories. Thank you for such beautiful content.
The best part of finding your channel late is how many peaceful hours I have watching them. I learn something new about Japan with every video, thank you.
I lived in the countryside of Niigata Prefecture. Your blog reminds me a lot what I lived there from 1991 to 1993. It's the same life we used to live. The main difference is that we were dekasegis in a cake/cookie/candy/chocolat factory. Loved Japan and all the things that I've learned for life.
Woah, the summer festival was so cool. I can’t believe the drummer up top being spun in a circle like that 😵💫 Thank you for spreading awareness on adopting, Pan is so adorable and love all the features he makes in your videos… cutest liddo wiggle butt 🐕
Pancake! What an adorable little buddy, I'm glad he's doing so well! He's lucky to have such wonderful pet parents as you two :) Thank you for sharing the information about Heart Tokushima! I'll be passing it along to friends of mine who are also passionate about animals and no-kill shelters
Greetings from Germany 🙋♂️ many things look pretty hard, I guess keeping the house intact, renovating it and doing garden work is a lot. But It also looks so relaxing. The water you can swin in, the comfy rainy season, the good homemade food and Pancake 🙌🏻 I’m loooking forward to see more of your videos 🍀
The Summer festival look so... sacred. It's very powerful to see how people respond to the chants and so on. Thank you for sharing! And pancake is already getting big. He is so adorable ♥
I’m a teacher in America contemplating to teach in Japan. I love living in the countryside. American life has become so completely boring so I’m thinking of moving to Japan.
It would be awesome if you guys could show us the town walkaround and the countryside walkaround at where you guys are living. Like an episode of NHK journeys around Japan.
The festival reminds me of my childhood. The highlight for me was the balloons filled with water that we would bounce back and forth on the palm of our hand via a rubber band. Thank you for sharing
You may want to do a fenced garden with tent like netting. Ravens are great mimics, very intelligent...best to let them be excluded from the vegetable harvest. They will get the message to hunt elsewhere. . .and maybe get a nicer interaction with their presence. I love hearing crows caw...birds reflect alot about the land & do lively noise about it. Like a town crier.
I absolutely love your videos!!! I’m binging them all to catch up right now, and they truly take me back to being a kid, watching the PBS channel travel shows!!!! Your editing is BEAUTIFUL and your voiceover is so calming yet engaging!!! Thank you for sharing your life with us all 💕
I love Taziki sauce...processed squeezed cucumber, drained plain yogurt, mint, garlic and cilantro (if you like it). It's good on salad, sandwiches, meats, and veggies. The festival looked like it was fun!
Dogs, Kochi countryside, summer festivals...this video really has it all. I lived in Shimanto City for a couple of years, and seeing the Yosakoi performances and the lantern festival again made me feel really natsukashii. Already looking forward to the next video!
I watch these and think about other lives I might have led! Probably too old now, but it’s great to see such a different yet familiar way to live. Thanks for making these and PS I absolutely LOVE your dog.
I remember all the spiders etc in our beach house in Hayama on the Miyura peninsula. We also got our fair share at our house in Ōmori, Tokyo. Each year in Hayama we had the Obon festival where we took part as kids...so much fun and wonderful memories. We lived in Japan for 14 years, 1960 to 1974, I really do miss it!
I really really love your video! It always help me release anxiety and sadness. This looks exactly like my dream life! I wish video could be longer 😭 Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful moment to us.
I thought you would have been more in the river for the summer months as the water is much cooler than the sea water , I love river trips when its hot out
Thank you so much for sharing another video of your new home. What a beautiful garden. I think your newest family member, Pancake, should guard your vegetables against those pesky ravens. But not until he’s a bit bigger, the ravens seem as big as he is. 😂 Until next time, take care, hugs to little Pancake ♥️🇨🇦
The festivals look amazing. This is the kind of thing someone in a cold wet town like mine daydream about, I’m glad you showcase that it isn’t all rainbows and hard work is involved in making a living in the countryside. The bugs! And the gardening. I’m glad things are going well and wish you and your family the best ❤
These videos are so beautiful and heart filling. Thank you for sharing your life with us Mika. Gorgeous festival. Also Pancake has totally stole the show.
Canada is such a beautiful and wonderful country, but thank you for coming to Japan! Legend has it that the legendary Ark of the Holy Ark is hidden in Mt. Tsurugi in Tokushima Prefecture, next to Kochi Prefecture. Japanese has the same word as Hebrew, so it might really be true. It is said that the weather changes when a chosen person climbs Mt. Tsurugi. Please go and try it sometime😊
I was so looking forward to today's video. I was not disappointed. Of course, I am disappointed for you as the ravens were evidently ravenous, consuming most of your garden!
Hello Mika 👋and Greetings from England 🇬🇧 Simon and Beth ❤️. A lovely laid back summer where you both enjoyed the tradition house 🏠. A good summer festival ✨️ and beautiful countryside ❤❤❤❤
this vlog just became my dog poodle's favorite thing to watch every night, she loves watching pancake and never seems to get tired of watching it again and again, hopefully i get to let her visit a nearby river more often soon...
I stumbled upon your channel and instantly I can say you are definitely living my dream. To live far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, waking up everyday to nature and growing crops. EXCEPT for the spiders though 😅
Living the dream! You guys found such a nice spot in the mountains. Hoping to do similar one day. Great content as well. Perfect balance of informative and engaging, without the usual cringy over the top stuff.
You're both living a really interesting life ourlt there and it's great to see the updates but OMFG PANCAKE is ADORABLE and may very well steal the show. Just saying 😄
Thank you for your lovely video. Its beautiful and relaxing. Pancake is cute baby dog. All the dogs in dog shelter looks so cute too. I wish you nice autumn and waiting your next video.
I would love to return to Japan and Shikoku some day! There is so much to see; going around Shikoku in 2 weeks definitely wasn't enough. I don't know if I could survive the summer in Japan though; the heat and humidity scares me! When I visited in November 2022, the temperature got way too hot in the afternoons, so I can't even being there in July or August!
Thank you for the beautiful videos! I’m a huge fan of you - love your reels💞 I think your house is no longer an 空き家 (empty house) btw! Now it's beautifully maintained household🫶
Oh my god, I visited in August/September 2019 and stayed mostly in tohoku. I about melted. I can only imagine how rough it can get down south where you two are.
Little slice of heaven now. There is a touch of Canadian sensitivity to your videos. Understated and lovely.
LOL, Jesse stamping Pancake's little butt-print on the window cracked me up 😂
まるでドラマを見ているような映像で見入ってました。
素敵な映像の共有ありがとうございます。これからも動画を楽しみにしてます。その前に他の動画もみます。
