The time you mention is with the 20.6kms layout (not used anymore), the tesla was clocked on the 20.8kms layout and then if you time the plaid on a 20.6kms layout it would have been a 7:19 min lap 😮

Ok! C'est quand même impressionnant! But say: in your video with Misha it seemed that the car wasn't suited for the Nürburgring at all. Did the track pack really improve the handling characteristics that much or is the car still not that good to drive?
Yea that was bad marketing for Tesla. If they sell a fast version it should come with the required mods, ie stiff chassis, good brakes and suspension, good tyres - standard. I think the brakefluid was even unsuitable..

Yeah they also using the Vision system to preload the suspension for corners. For the weight of the car without rear wheel steering its incredible fast. I cant wait to see the Tesla Roadster on the Ring!

Also the M3P doenst have the new Track Mode software for adaptive suspension in corners, I wish the M3 had an option to get adaptive air suspension

Sebastian how are you? You should try not to push 100% at the begining of the track to push it at the end to try to achieve max top end speed in the straight when the batt limit the power…
Great run and it could be easily 2 seconds faster if going full speed just on the one long strait. Pretty shure that Vittel even had faster times in the Plaid.
How can you compare this to Enzo lap time when it has 400 hp less. Used shiit tire technology and old track that was not resurfaced.
But the enzo is also 1000kgs less 😅
Because the enzo was a pinnacle and insanely expensive supercar for its DAY, plus the power to weight still favored the enzo run from 2008 vs the latest plaid. Simple google search shows the enzo with over a 10% better hp to weight ratio vs a new plaid model s.
And that's without accounting for the new rules requiring a heavy bolt in cage&additional safety equipment like the plaid ran with. 👍🏻

This is a mandatory equipment requested by Nurburgring gmbh for lap record attempt and the safety of the driver + fire extinguishers and an emergency stop button
You can add this stuff in your car…but it will make the car more heavy and finally slower than the standard car 😇

the PLAID did not do so well in the Track with standart car, that car are not meant to be track focused car,, so if you compared the break, suspension, and how it drive to something like GT3, it just way too far,,
but with this Track Pack upgrade could solve the Braking and grip problem, but not with (too soft) suspension,,
Yeah it could be perform better compared stock car (without Track Pack) but it's way off compared to Cars that spesifically design for Trqck..
Yes, but we were not with the proper tire, 4s is not track tire, even a gt2 rs on 4s michelin tire is not super well 😅

I Know the Track Pack should unlock 200mph (322kph).
That's the issue at the end... Battery overheats otherwise it would probably run like 7:20 flat and breat 320kmh at the end stretch

6:50 That's the issue, I assume that battery overheated here because it was slightly decreasing the speed after 290kmh. Real shame as it would've saved quite a bit of time. This whole thing seems like trying to balance the soc and heat, otherwise it could maby even do a flat 7:20 with more than 200mph at the end stretch.
Or am I wrong? Still amazing this is in a car with more storage than a skoda superb, comfort closer to an audi a8 than some race car and a Play Station built in while also benefiting on track that you're in the safest car in the world...

Even the rimac and even more the amg one has the overheating battery pack on the final straight, for the moment nobody’s has found the solution for it…

Don't overestimate straight line speed. The difference between the Taycan and the 919 Evo rocketship was "just" 7 seconds over the whole Döttinger Höhe. A few mph more would've done nothing on that straight.
Those super cars not so super anymore. Beaten by a family sedan.

@@nickster1318 Infact, the round wheel is standard. The yoke is a paid option. It was a failed experiment.
Vittel owns an S with a yoke, and races it.
It is definitely give a better précision but i think only 1/2 sec slower with the yoke 🙂

@@sebastianvittel74 would be interesting to see on PS4S with series 21” with Ceramics brakes what the brakes are actually worth on a hot lap. Also the track mode suspension software changes. My Plaid is fairly stable on power at vmax Plaid Mode but definitely not a Porsche as you slow down (loose)!! Feels like more chassis work needed on road settings?? (Autobahn)

Saw this in another clip and noticed approx. 33% of battery gone in 1 lap. Its always said by some technical people that you should not deplete more than down to 10% and no charge more than 90% for battery life. Effectively 2 laps and some to get to the charger for 30mins (needed to charge from 10% to 90%). 15min fun and 30min bored
I expected more from this car. This is close to what a 2009 Nissan GTR ran well over a decade ago.

Actually it's about 7:03 BTG. But it's still not doing anything extraordinary IMO, it needs some of grippiest tires in existence to beat similar heavy sedans by a couple of seconds. The 4-door AMG GT weighs about the same and is only 2.5s off on inferior tires with 400 less horsepower. It's not exactly moving the game on. Heck even the old Taycan can probably do this looking at its time on PS4S. It's performing adequately for its specifications but still far off the actual sports cars that it likes to beat in drag races.

@@sebastianvittel74 We're both wrong, they were Pirelli Corsa's. Which on other cars are least are worse than a regular cup 2.

I doubt for more than $ 15k upgrade for Taycan Performance Kit, they only upgraded the tires and Wheels,,😁
unlike the Porsche and AMG, the Model S was never designed for the track. The performance achieved with a few basic mods is exceptional.
And don't forget the performance/price ratio. Imagine what Tesla could do for the price of a Turbo S...
@Alex Z Have you seen that AMG? It's no more designed for the track than any other big old boat. Nobody tracks these kind of cars, even BMW M5s don't go anywhere near it. It's for marketing only.
