As of july 28th, the Creator of DRDT has announced on both their youtube community page and on their tumblr blog that the 2nd half of chapter 2 is 99%, with the last thing they need to work on being the execution. Now granted they did say that the execution is the most time consuming part as it requires a lot of animation, however rest assured i'm almost positive that we'll be getting more DRDT before 2025

Loving both Penguinronpa and Ronpa and Friends! The main fangan I'm invested in at this time is Cartoons in Danganronpa by ThatCheesyB. It's currently midway through the first trial and it does such a fun spin on the usual trial mechanics. Plus, it's what introduced me to Making Fiends (one of the show represented in the fangan).
Another one I would keep an eye out for is Brave Danganronpa: Coward's Paradise. Only the prologue is out right now on UA-cam, but it's still being worked on (albeit slowly). The characterization is amazing--it's the only fangan I've seen where I like every single character's design and personality. The story isn't developed much yet, but what has been revealed holds promise.
Surprised to not see Deception Examination on Instagram. 3 fully done chapters and as of this comment, posting chapter 4. Super good writing and characters
I recommend Cartoons in Danganronpa and Project Eden's Garden! Eden's Garden looks the most realistically like a canon Danganronpa game and Cartoons in Danganronpa has the same atmosphere as Danganronpa but still has the cartoonish feel as well. I am actually making predictions videos for CiDR as well.
Hell yeah Fanganronpas! There's two good ones! One is Cartoons in Danganronpa (currently in the middle of class trial 1) and another is called Lovesick Despair (Yandere Simulator inspired, currently waiting for final class trial + ending). They're very well written, good character interactions and the trials are pretty fleshed out, I really recommend checking them out!

One thing to note about Kokichi and Sakura's relationship in Defiance is that Kokichi might still be effected by his history with Gonta, which might be drawing him near the person who's the closest comparison to him (body-wise, anyway).

I have a fangan that falls under the Redemption/Defiance umbrella of Fancanronpa called Danganronpa: Code Breaker. One of my friends also has a fangan on AO3 of the same genre called Chihiro's Bonus Round. Both fangans have Chihiro as the protagonist but the story of both are very different. Her's is a finished fangan while mine is currently on hiatus (2 chapters are out). for anyone who's interested.
You should talk about/Watch Cartoons in danganronpa! It's a really underrated project that doesn't get too much attention! It crosses over different cartoons like Gravity Falls, Invader Zim, Powerpuff Girls and Rick and Morty! The project is up to part 1 of the 1st trial of Chapter 1!
I actually haven't seen Ronpa and Friends yet. I'll watch Blaze play it My top 6 favourite fangans are probably Rejected zer0, Despair Time, Cartoon in Danganronpa, Penguinronpa, Edens Garden and Defiance. I believe PEG is as good as the actual games

I remember I was once asked over Discord to voice a character in a Fanganronpa game but unfortunately it didn't get that far (it was my first VA role I've done but it was still fun as hell to do though and funny enough it was DR: Lapse, with the character on the left being who I would've played), I've also heard of a lot of great Fangans like Danganronpa: Redemption (which was the first one I really fell in love with) and DR: Another was another cool one from watching WeebyNews and I've seen the videos from Blaze (which was also really good) but I'll definitely check out Despair Time and (He)Artless Deceit (which also sounds like a really cool band name tbh). Those look great
If you ever do a stream/playthrough of the another series, definitely be aware that people seem to like to spoil certain points of the game, so just be cautious there👍
I noticed Danganronpa lapse there for a second and I am currently playing it and I've only made it to right before trial 3 but it is so good so far! Not trying to spoil but the first victim and killer were my two favorites and I was so upset especially since this was my first time with experiencing the anxiety of not knowing who dies because for all of the cannon ones I knew before hand
Much appreciated. I'm a fan but can't find many games like it. I'd like to suggest Kimi Ga Shine(your turn to die). Its most done other than the last chapter and you can get it free or on steam for cheap. Besides being Danganronpa like, the writers focus on how the characters things like death effect the other characters which i thought was dope. You can really see the toll it takes on their mental health.

If I’ve got one suggestion it’s defiance chapter 3. It would be 4, but that’s not finished yet :/ The daily life of 4 is still immaculate, but the plot really starts ramping up in chapter 3.

Happy to answer! Insta ronpas you’ll either need to read yourself on their Instagram page, starting at the oldest post and working up, or watch a UA-camr play them (if one exists). If you’re doing it on your own, be careful as some fangans have spoilers in the top posts so you’ll just have to essentially close your eyes and scroll down lol. And yes, things are still progressing on Ultimate Justice! We’ve been keeping most of it behind the scenes for now but it’s absolutely still being done. Hope this helped!!
DANGANRONPA DESPAIR TIME AND DANGANRONPA HEARTLESS DECEIT MENTIONED!! i flipped through the comments and didn't see one of my favourites ever brought up, that one being danganronpa: theafter. it's a fangan in full japanese, BUT it just got an (updated) english translation, so i ABSOLUTELY recommend it if you haven't seen it yet. it's AMAZINGLY written and although the fangan is only on ch3 right now, the next episode is likely either releasing this month or next month! you should watch it if you have the time, it's SO worth it
