about six hundred Strike: when i first heard the vengeance saga it was on spotify - therfore no animatics at all - i was pretty confused about what just happened. so i'm with you on that one BUT in my opinion it's clear enough WHAT happens to leave the HOW to the imagiation of the audience. Ody has ecaped posiden with an half-emptied windbag before, now he's in sight of ithaca, has a full windbag and the spirit of sixhundred men behind him. He cant loos this fight by any means which means that he doesn't at this part of the story. Also, divine intervention like you mention it, would leave him as the one to be saved, not the monster he became. Moreover, over the course of the years he has spent much time under the influence of divine beeings, which may have left itc traces too

Little Hope seemed like a cool concept about some sort of looping history that keeps repeating, but then they just hit us with "Nah it's all in your head." Like the first idea is SO much more interesting and they decided to use the trope that's basically universally hated instead

I rather would've had Little Hope being a story about a town trapped in a reincarnation cycle to atone for their witch-hunt.

I have always loved choice your own adventure books, specifically i was obsessed with the twisted journeys books when i was younger. if you also love those kinds of books then i highly recommend the Sorcery! games, they're actually based on a set of choice your own adventure books and are top quality!

Definitely a case of personal tastes! I actually hated the twist in House of Ashes, but I think that’s because I like supernatural creatures and monster lore. So being told these creatures were just “because aliens,” I wanted to quit altogether. It felt like a twist that was forced into the story because all Dark Pictures must have a twist. Alternately, I like the twist in Little Hope. The idea of a guy trying to work through his survivor’s guilt through hallucinations was interesting. But I agree that it negates the “keeping a character alive matters” and the execution was poor. There were so many plot elements happening with Witch Trials that having the “explanation” be that it’s all irrelevant and just part of the hallucination is disappointing.

Something that I wish Devil in Me had done better is the fact that there’s (at least) two Du'Mets. It could’ve been such a gutwrenching realization that, upon imprisoning Du‘Met between the sliding walls and become less careful over time, a whole other killer has been on the loose since that moment.

Little Hope is such aids because everything being fake and this awesome, spooky Witch stuff being in his head, and these characters I came to really like over the course of the game all being fake is just... man it's the worst plot twist ever, it legit feels like they just needed a plot twist for plot twist's sake and threw that in.

Man of Medan’s twist was figured out by me and my friend after the 1st hallucination once we asked “where tf were you dude?” And then we just didn’t do anything whenever other hallucinations happened

The Casting of Frank Stone had to work within DBD’s lore. Don’t get me wrong, the Entity taking a world in person is an important moment… but it could have been great if executed better.

I think the "polites ghost" in Get In The Water really depends on your interpretation of Six Hundred Strike. When i listen to Six Hundred Strike, i imagine an actual strike of six hundred men, as i cannot help but think that Hermes specifically grabbed the souls of 600 men + his mom to put in the wind bag. So Polites and Eurolychus and his mom actually coming back in GITW was so Odysseus can learn about said 600 men in said wind bag.

Okay I know a lot of people really disliked the Little Hope twist, but i would still put it above Devil in Me, if nothing else at least on the merit of actually being a twist tbh. I do happen to be one of the people who didn't really mind the twist, so I might be biased I guess. But a bad twist still ranks higher than no twist at all imo, at least when ranking twists.

I remember figuring out the Man of Medan twist really early. And because of that, I actually kinda liked it. That being said, I could never play it again cuz now I know.

I think the point in Circe saga is also the fact that Odysseus have less feelings. Like his mind is starting to function with dissociation, that's a really big deal, and starting from Circe saga, it's more and more visible with almost each songs, and the result being in the end, his feelings explosion in vengeance saga and probably being very instable in Ithaca saga (I can clearly imagine songs where Odysseus seems emotionless and suddenly bursting with rage). When we know a bit about dissociation, this makes a LOT of sense and it's very intresting, because it's incredibly realistic

Personally even the devil in me is my personal fav. The twist is too predictable. Early on i alr guessed "Mr.Dumet" (aka Mr. Morello) is not THE Mr. Dumet just cz how he acted. Also alot of the story tapes makes me guess the real dumet was a policeman. On the other hand, Little hope's twist imo is one of the more unpredictable ones cz there isn't as many clues that points to all of this just being in Andrew's head and the fact the bus driver is also Andrew.

The main problem with Little Hope is that it has a story that can work well in a movie but can't really work in a game

See I thought the twist was that Anthony has dissociate identity disorder so this video has already had a plottwist for me. Either way hallucination or dissociation it's weird that anthony would have his siblings be a couple

I usually hate none of it was real twists but i enjoyed it in Little Hope it was so sad it really hit me for some reason

Dbd/Frank stone multiverse explained: Every character within DbD is from a different multiverse. Crossover characters like Leon come from a separate version of the in game universe where he just gets “taken” by the entity. This spans across time and space, so you can have robot clones with medieval knight. Every cosmetic for each character is either a call back to their past or them in a different universe. While I don’t understand how gathering all the Frank stone tapes summon him, I do know that they all most certainly did exist and happen at one point in time. The rules may seem dumb for what they can do, but they are very straightforward. This is how the main girl’s mom is able to both die and live a without creating a time paradox I can not explain how people travel between the universes without the entity’s help. I do know that they are all real people, each with similar yet different experiences.

A friend recently got me to listen to Epic and I've been obsessed with it. I think one of the things I like the most is watching different artists animatics to see how people interpret it visually. There's a lot of variety and I love it. I'm actually really glad I got this video recommended though. I don't use tik tok, so this video served as a nice way to get extra context for stuff I didn't know about or missed. Also a lot of takes I can agree with. My favorite songs are definitely polyphemus survive and remember them, which have great lego stop motion videos by @bucketsanimations

I have to respect you for being able to not let the obviousness of Man of Medan's twist sour your opinion of it. I was just personally surprised that it ranked so high, cause I feel like it's not even a real twist. It may seem harsh of me to say that, but I genuinely think it's made too obvious through the prologue and the events of the Echo/Finding Friends/Ritual chapters to really be considered a twist, at least from a player's perspective(admittedly this can vary from person to person, I think Markiplier's and 8-BitRyan's reactions to the confrontation in Ritual best highlight this). But like… Brad falls from a platform the same time Fliss watches the same platform fall from nearby, and they both see mysterious figures suddenly emerge from the dust(and in Brad's case, his hallucination is holding the same knife that you picked up as Fliss); you can find Joe and Charlie's bodies in the Cargo Hold if you dispel the hallucinations, their cause of death the same as how they died to their hallucination(like Charlie getting shot in the closet, for example); and Fliss can find the EXACT SAME box from the Prologue that contained the Manchurian Gold, which unlocks a secret called "Chemical Leak". It really feels like they made this twist in mind with one particular path in mind (don't pick up any weapons as Fliss, don't dispel hallucinations, don't find any secrets). Also I dislike how Manchurian Gold was handled in general(should've been had more protection for such a dangerous and volatile chemical weapon) but that's all for a different conversation.

Man of Medan being the worst? When Dark Pictures exists? It's not on the level of Quarry or Until Dawn, but Dark Pictures are a buggy stiff mess.

Sorry but fully disagree on the casting of frank stone criticism. It was always billed as new lore for dead by daylight, it was never pushed as a stand alone title, not knowing the lore going into it isn't really a fault of the games.

I think little hope is way over hated and is my favorite of the series. The rest, for the most part, are horrendous and disappointing.

The thing with the casting of frank stone is it is and isn't a plot twist, since it's dbd. If your already familiar with that game and ita lore (like i was) the multi dimensional entity stuff was an obvious thing, but they keep it under wraps a little for people who don't know dbd, to make it a twist, interesting decision, rough execution

I agree with a lot of what you said, but I’d like to say that Jorge doesn’t take criticism well. I know someone who dropped a simple comment on one of his TikToks saying basically what you said, that the saga could’ve been better, and he blocked her. The comment had NO hate towards him and was simply a suggestion. Apparently this has happened to others before. I understand that he doesn’t want people to hate on something he took so much time on, but again, it wasn’t hate. NO HATE TOWARDS JORGE! Anyway, i appreciate this video! ❤

As someone who loves these games but doesn't really engage with it's fandom, these comments have shocked me. To see Little Hope has so much hate, and Man of Medan/House of Ashes have so much love is crazy to me! Little Hope and Devil in Me were my favourites by far!

The Circe's saga is hands down my favorite!! It may not be the most intense or musically dramatic, but I absolutely love Circe as a cunning villainess and the energy Hermes brings! I've also been incredibly biased towards string instruments, which are incredibly prevalent in the saga. Hands down my favorite - so far! But your opinion is valid of course
