What really hooked me on this track is the way the riffs almost come across with the cadence of vocals. I can imagine lyrics to the pitch and pace of the guitar work so easily. The thing that keeps me coming back for every release is that they manage to have a "sound", but it's also always radically different. How does that even happen?!

Yeah, it's a staple of polyphia ever since like Muse or right after Resurrect when they stopped doing vocals
They also use pretty similar phrasing on each sorta "era", like Muse-Renaissance sound so similar to each other while The worst-present uses different phrasing while still keeping parts of the pop influence

And hearing, "Playing God" for the first time literally made me listen to all of their published music over the course of a day and a half. I know that this is out of left field, but just keep this in the back of your mind since I know there are going to be people that say that Tim's guitar playing abilities are so intimidating that it makes you want to stop, or what have you.
Guitarists of varying experience levels, Tim more than likely did several takes to get this absolutely perfect.
Tim here is absolutely an amazing guitarist, without a doubt. I will not deny that he has prowess... But! Please don't put yourselves down because you saw his best take. We need to remember that no guitarist gets everything right the first time. It takes a pretty decent amount of time to be able to get the right take. Whether it be you, me, Tim, Guthrie Govan, or whomever. No one is perfect the first time.
You'll get there, just keep practicing and playing and having fun. This isn't a competition. Music isn't a competition. You're awesome. Just keep playing.

Tim’s story is so good, his mom was very strict wanted him to play violin but he wanted to play guitar, hanging out with a fun bad crew at school, but still had that passion but for a different type of sound, that’s wild to me. Not to mention bro is so well disciplined he taught himself software engineering and landed a job, fuck this man is not only inspiring me in music but in life thank you Tim, just went to your concert in Houston a few weeks ago we love you man

Playing God aside, this song is actually pretty cool acoustic. This makes me think that a separate acoustic EP or maybe a deluxe edition album with acoustic versions of the songs would be really cool to have. Plus, I really want to see how Scottie would re-do his solo in this song for an acoustic studio version.

i dont think its "actual" hate, it's just they set their bar up so high and some expected an other step up from the previous stuff

One of very favorite parts of this awesome song is in the "outro",(at 2:32) if that's even the term. If you listen to the album version of this song, it is easy to initially miss how all those light, glittery notes supporting those last few measures are anything but an afterthought. The melody in these last few measures (?) is actually quite simple, but when you see him playing it here acoustically, you can begin to appreciate EVERYTHING (!) else he is doing aside from just strumming the melody!! It's unprecedented. (Please forgive my semi-ignorance of correct musical terms - but you get the idea)
