I lost about 2 million gold's worth of pets, BOE gear and some removed items I've picked up over the years myself. I'm not too concerned about those since I can still get the pets, but what hurt the most was that my entire collection of Plain Letters that I had saved throughout my entire time playing is now completely gone. It seems like a small thing, but a bunch of those letters were sent by people who no longer play, and some who have since passed away. I had an entire bank tab just dedicated to letters that are now gone forever. The only things that were restored to me were two Nat Pagle's Guide to Extreme Anglin'.
That's so heartbreaking. I'm so sorry. I can't believe they only gave you two copies of Extreme Anglin' and none of the literally priceless letters you lost. :(
i lost all 7 guild bank tabs almost completely full of stuff i've been saving since vanilla. memories and letters from other players and friends. yah, i was the only person in the guild. 1 character. nothing returned in mail. :( **thank you** for making this video!
Oh no, I'm so sorry. Memories and letters like that are so precious and losing them has to be gut-wrenching. I'm really sorry. :( I can only hope our collective outrage will get something done.
I lost hundreds of stacks, tens of thousands of mats. Blizzard could restore it, they make snapshots/backups, they just don't care enough, or don't want to pay staff to deal with this. I'm really devastated about this incident.
Oh wow, I'm so sorry about that. I know I wasn't as affected as some, but "devastated" is really a good word to describe it. I'm heartbroken, upset, angry, sad. Devastated. Let's make some noise, let's make sure they can't just ignore us about this!
@@ricardocintra5970 But they don't even need backups for a lot of stuff (that which is shown in the logs)? They can just look at the logs, see which items have been deposited, not removed/moved, and restore those.
They also have bank logs. They can see everything deposited and withdrawn from the guild bank. It would be a safe assumption that anything deposited, not withdrawn, and no longer still in the bank is what vanished.
People need to be fired over this. Not the people actually doing the work, but the people who made the decision to push untested code live. I have never seen this level of incompetence in an online game before. This needs to absolutely blow up. People need to KNOW that Blizzard cannot be trusted with your character data. Maybe when enough people quit they will do something.
Agreed. Heads need to roll. I'm not generally someone who actively wants people to be fired, but a mistake of this size being pushed to live servers is almost incomprehensible. And then they don't want to restore things??? I don't get it. I just don't get it.
@@kurnmogh I PERSONALLY have talked to around 15 people who unsubscribed and said they will not return unless they are made whole. These are all LONG time players (15+ years), and all also had multiple accounts. It's a shame because War Within is genuinely a great expansion. I'm not quitting yet (I'm paid up until the end of January anyway)...but if something major isn't done for those who were affected it will affect my decision to stay longer, or stay for Midnight.
Agreed. People who made rash decisions (anything from WHO and HOW MANY to lay off, which I believe contributed to the problem, esp. the people who worked in QA), who determined that the game would go LIVE even when it had bugs galore, with this being the BIGGEST, the people who decided to keep everyone - from CMs, CS, and possibly even influencers - quiet about this until BLIZZARD decided to talk and give us the final devastating news, the people who decided that we weren't worth the effort and cost of manual restoration (if that's what it would have taken) or made the decision to purge or not protect backups. The leaders and decision makers should be the ones paying the price.
@@GoddessPallasAthena CS actually clarified during the issue that they were not allowed to talk about it. One of them even mentioned "losing our jobs if we gave any information". So we aren't even guessing about this...but yes, the person or people that caused this need to go.
What do you expect happens when they fired literally like two-thirds of all their staff over the past 5 years? All the people that know how to actually bake the game don't work there anymore. I have been playing the war within and so far it just feels like extended beta testing. They're having like 8-hour maintenance two times a week they're patching the game up every other fucking day they're balancing things out because they had originally probably intended for this to be launched around November to more lineup with the anniversary but instead some assholes decided to push everything forward way too fast and I feel like the developers were just a surprised as the announcement for the release date as we were. And as several dozen UA-camrs also pointed out the same thing I did I feel like I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person who thinks that the game's just going to die here soon because they just don't have anybody that knows what the fuck they're doing
Mine was a personal guild so all the characters in it were just mine. First tab had mounts, toys, pets and void satchels which had unclaimed heirloom trinkets in, whenever i saw a new player i'd give them one of each. Those are gone. All the other tabs had things like 30+ slot bags for new alts, materials, weapons, armor, potions etc. Those are all gone. Blizzard didn't restore a single thing. Now left with a completely empty guild bank that i don't trust putting anything in ever again.
I'm very sorry. That's awful. To do this to someone in the community who is happy to help out others makes it feel even worse. Trust is broken. How can they rebuild it? I don't think anything less than a full restoration will do, frankly.
Thank you for trying to bring this to light. I had over a million gold worth of stuff vanish. They sent me back 9 items that value, around 200 - 300 gold each. I opened another blizzard ticket and they responded "Sorry if we couldn't return every single item" which I felt was condescending being they didn't even return 1% of the value lost.
Sorry to hear that but are you still playing or did you walk? I did. 14 year old account. 16k achieves. 5 max level in TWW. All proffs. Loremaster of all expansions....my pride and joy that one. But tha tis all gone now and behind me. They can go where the sun dont shine. I am not akign abuse like that and then askign for more since i am still playing and paying them. NO way. I draw the line at theft.
This is the first video I've seen of anyone talking about this! Which is insane to me! I lost 7 full tabs of crafting mats and items no-longer obtainable. I got the email on my Guild leaderr of items restored and got 447 WoD plants and 7 DF herbs... I've lost millions of gold worth of items. Whats worse to me is that the logs clearly show waaaay more items depositied than what i got mailed....
Right??? How can they not even look at those logs and send us THAT if nothing else? If it goes IN and doesn't come OUT, but it's not THERE, then what gives?? I'm also very confused as to why others aren't talking about this more. I have nothing to lose -- already lost hundreds of items. I will make noise about this until the cows come home.
Exactly this! I did a full reorganization of my guild bank the day that warband banks became functional and every item that was lost is still listed in my guild bank logs. If I have that information THEY have that information! So bummed over this!
@@kurnmogh For many of us, not everyone affected though, logs stopped working months ago. My guild logs stop about 7 months ago, but others have different time frames.
There are people that dont use the forums that had no idea. I did a dungeon like 5 days ago before i quit the game and they did not know. Threads on thsi in teh forum, both in the US and EU are now locked. They are tryign to bury this deep now so nobody finds out. People lost real life cash paid for tokens. Those cost money. NO refunds. No conpensation. Do you want to give blizzard more of your money now? Here...buy a 12 month sub. That is their latest sub cos they know people are pissed and are tryign to tie poeple into long pre-paid for periods/ Greedy slimy blizzard/ Really. Nasty company. I am playign ff14 now which i tried thsi week and like. I am done with blizzard
I watched stuff disappear from the bank when I opened it. Two guilds, one has been around since at least TBC, the other I made during BFA. Been posting regularly about it on the forums. As of today (22 September) I've gotten *no* mails returning items. Glad you're talking about it, when the other warcraft news channels haven't said a peep.
Oh no, that's awful. To actually SEE stuff disappearing! I can't even understand how Blizzard screwed up this badly. I'm so sorry. Hopefully we can champion the cause and get some community responses to up the visibility.
Three guild banks affected, each lost probably half of its contents. My 3 characters got a total of 6 mail for half of 3 guild banks gone, 2 of those items being simple cloth. I opened up a ticket at the beginning of this happening, I've been in the NA forum post since the start and watching it nearly daily, been checking our homies over on EU with their own post, having a blue post trying to help out while we had nothing. The fact that it's been radio silent for this long (till friday's afternoon post), the fact that we were told an incomplete restoration to SOME guilds, yet everyone who has spoken out hasn't even gotten 5% of what they lost, and many didn't get anything at all is beyond laughable. And what is also frustrating is that the EU blue would say that they could see the person's items, it was just not visible to them. So we kind of had hope that blizzard could maybe just flip the switch on this mysterious problem and we'd be able to see all our items again. But no, it's just missing data in what seems to be oddly handled database or simply that we are not worth the effort/money to restore our stuff. I personally didn't lose sentimental value things, it was all profession stuff that I was saving to level them up on chosen characters, it was extra pets that I couldn't sell (but that I did own), recipes I wanted to learn (unsure if there were some rare ones in there though) and some other things. Definitely a huge amount of items worth a decent amount of gold. But some people lost big ticket items like mounts, valuable items that no longer are obtainable in the game, and probably what saddens me the most is for those who lost letters from friends/people who no longer play, no longer talk to or are no longer part of this world. And that will never be given back. This is crazy. And for such a huge game to have this happen, this hurts. I've been playing since mid wrath, with rarely any break. I love to collect things and organize my storage in between whatever else I do. Thank you for speaking out about this.
I haven't kept up with the EU side of things, but that's fascinating that Blizz folks can see the items! So it's all still there, I presume, until we overwrite it. I can't emphasize enough how we should NOT use the guild banks right now, then! I understand about the mails/letters -- I feel fortunate that I don't think any of that stuff was lost for me, but wow, I can't imagine how I'd feel if I'd lost those. I'm so sorry about your losses. I'm glad I can make some kind of noise about this on behalf of everyone. Hopefully it'll get out to better-known WoW players who will use their platforms to condemn these actions.
Thank you for bringing more critical light to this. So far, the 'news' has been incredibly vague and misleading. If you didn't interact much with guild banks and you read 'SOME guilds lost SOME items, but there's a going to be a PARTIAL restoration" you would not have an accurate picture of what's been robbed from many of us. I had a meticulously organized guild bank, and like you I was the only player with access. I lost about 60% of the contents and got NOTHING back in the pathetic "restoration," but I don't really think I'm missing out because watching the forums, I haven't seen one person report they got anything substantial returned, just a handful of very minor items. Players need to be way more critical of this because its allegedly "unrestorable" data loss. This means we can assume NOTHING in WoW is safe, if when things go wrong all we get is "too bad, so sad!"
You're 100% right, their news update was incredibly misleading. The partial restoration many of us have received is largely made up of worthless items. And I agree, we cannot assume anything in WoW is safe any longer. I'm so sorry you were so affected.
It baffles me that no one else on UA-cam has talked about this. I have 10 personal guild banks, more than 50mil in mats and transmog gone. The few items I got back were worthless things that can be replaced in like 10 minutes
Right? The lack of noise about this says a LOT, and the items we got back are some of the least useful/valuable things we owned. I'm grateful that BlizzardWatch made mention of it in their latest podcast, at least: ua-cam.com/video/GVuAWYjXyZY/v-deo.html And I'm so sorry for all that you lost. That is a huge amount and all I can say is my condolence.
Ugh, I can imagine. I'm so sorry. Part of one guild bank is bad enough, but stuff across multiple guild banks? Absolutely ridiculous. I'm sorry. I hope our collective voices can effect some kind of change.
The US bug forum post has been closed, so I guess we got our non-answer about whether anything else was coming in the mail, or if any official word was coming there…ever! They have continued with the non-communication. Now, as a group we are pushed to the general forum. Not even supporting each other away from the trolling of the general forum was acceptable. That post had 38.3k views, 14k likes, 633 users!!!, and 2610 posts! The official resolution was never posted there by Blizz/MSFT. It was copied by users, who still thought this company might have any decency to address us directly in the place we were all told to go and wait. No one to my knowledge received any mounts, gold, pets, toys, or armor or weapons that were not crafted. Very few received anything other than a couple quest starting items, items that had all charges drained, or a couple partial stacks on mats. No one has received any player notes or other now unobtainable items back.
😮 Holy cow, I see that they closed the bug report one. What nerve these people have. I still have hope (?) that maybe they'll change their minds if we make enough noise. Maybe 633 users isn't enough, but maybe larger WoW creators can tell their millions of subscribers how WoW has messed up can change their minds. I don't know. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for the update on the closed thread, and thanks for chiming in.
The anser is the little that was compensated to some people in the form of one single cloth of sil, for example, is it. There wont be any more now. Now stfu and go back to paying your sub is the official line as the drums of war for a 12 month blitz ad campaign are now drumming. Truth is prolly they know they are losing a ton of people now adn need to make money. Screw blizzard. ANybody left playing still, now desrves to lose everything. Serious. You obviously did not learn the first time
@@kurnmogh It is far more than 633 users. Out guild bank was affected. What is the chance of that? the number is prolly in the tens of thousands of people
Multiple guild banks empty, hundreds of items lost. So far no restoration whatsoever. Just an "oops, sorry" - and a request to not send more tickets ... To say we are pissed is an understatement.
That's absolutely unacceptable, I'm really sorry you were hit so hard. :( Oops, also don't send more tickets? Outrageous. My hope with this video is to make some noise so they can't just sweep this under the rug. Thank you for sharing and I'm so sorry.
I am by no means a player that gets mad about every little thing that Blizzard does that I don’t like. In fact I’m quite the opposite and usually come down on the side of defending them but man this legitimately has me steamed! I have opened 4 GM tickets over the last couple months venting my frustrations at them. I can’t accept that this isn’t a fixable issue
This. Totally this. I normally understand when things go sideways, because they basically always fix it! And I don't mind when there's extended maintenance, I don't mind if a quest is bugged, I know these things will eventually work out. This is so unlike anything I've ever experienced and, like you, I cannot accept that this IS NOT fixable. I'm sorry you're going through this too.
They could, at the VERY least, restore the little bit of items that still appear in the logs. I swear I saw my first tab stuff for a split second last night when I opened the bank. I stored mats and items for auction and gear for alts...literal years and years worth of mats from dungeon runs, rep items, recipes, pets, mounts, gear for auction... the more I think about it the more it feels like my account got hacked, wiped out, and Blizzard said "sucks to be you."...only Blizzard was the hacker. I have received no items back. When all of this started and my tabs started losing items, I just didn't touch anything. I left it alone, fully trusting that Blizz would fix it and restore our items. I didn't even worry that it was taking a LONG time for them to address....I was so sure they would fix this and make it right. I can't even express how disappointed I am right now. I will never trust them again.
Oh, I'm so sorry. :( I have always felt similarly -- I have always had trust in Blizzard to restore an item, to fix a thing, to make sure that X, Y or Z was made right! The stories I could tell you about the conversations I've had with Game Masters, where things got resolved...! Everything from buggy raid lockouts in Cata to demanding to know why a guild mate didn't get her Hand of A'dal title. Everything got fixed or properly explained. This is neither. It's incredibly disappointing. Know you're not alone and hopefully we can make enough noise that they can't just sweep this under the rug.
What pisses me off about this whole situation is they keep backups of everything in the event of something like this happening, it's how the item restoration system works. There's absolutely ZERO reason they couldn't restore everything to a previous save point. Sure, you might have lost a couple things from a few days prior, but you would most likely have most of everything restored. And no one is going to tell me "they don't do that". Then go and restore a deleted character you haven't had for years and tell me that again. They can do it, they just don't want to.
100% TRUE! In fact, after the 11.0 patch went live people had old deleted characters magically pop back on their character list, mine included! If shit like that can happen accidentally surely with a little effort they can restore what they fucked up!
Fully agree with you here. Anyone working with data takes backups and has backups in separate locations and stuff just to MAKE SURE the data can remain whole. It boggles my mind that this is what they're claiming. Just tell us you don't want to spend the time and money on it and we'll quit in droves.
That's because this wasn't an accident. It was a soft punishment for people who were buying gold. It went out in a wave. They removed items based on how much gold uve bought. They do not notify you when they do this. They just remove the items that they feel sufficient to the amount of gold. Repeat offenders, get actually banned in the future. This is why they're saying to stop making tickets.
Nope they pushed on with not really fit for live version updates for years now as this what caused that. Now they dug a whole so deep that this is gonna cost them big. Most players who lost are most likely on their way out. The idiot GM and others whose guild i belong to were wiped out yet they are staying. Not me. I quot yesterday. Had enough. I am not rewarding that sort of behavior with yet more more. You watn more of my money after doign that to me? For real. Nah....leaving that abusive relationship for good. THey can take a hike. My account goes back to 2010. In tha ttime prolly have close to 3 years subs since i stopped a more than a few times
I have been playing WoW since launch, My guild bank was cleared of all seven tabs. Not had anything returned. Have cancelled my subscription which is due in December. Will not renew it if there is no satisfactory outcome to this. Was enjoying the war within but this has put a huge dampener on that and can't be bothered to log in most days. The noise being made by the WoW streaming community about this is "deafening" Something is not right and it stinks
Holy crap, that's heartbreaking. I'm so sorry for all the stuff you've lost. You've done the right thing in cancelling, IMHO. Like you, I was enjoying TWW. I came back to WoW a few months ago and have been super into the expansion... and this has also taken a lot of the wind out of my sails. I wasn't aware the streamers were talking about it. Do you have some accounts I could look at? I don't really follow streamers much.
@@kurnmogh My comment about the streamers was sarcastic, It seems it has not been talked about by any streamers and the couple I have seen who were asked about what they thought they acted dumb like they knew nothing of such an issue. The thought is the streamers have been told by Blizzard not to fuel the fire.
@@redscouse8568 Ahhhh, bummer, haha. I bet you're right. BlizzardWatch did mention it in their latest podcast, though, so props to them: ua-cam.com/video/GVuAWYjXyZY/v-deo.html
Same here. One fo the oldest guild on our server of the guilds that still play. We lost all in bank. My sub runs out in two months time. dec. But i am not logging in anymore and actually unisntalled in disgust yesterday when i made the decision to actually walk away from this abusive relation ship. I am done with them for good. MOved over to ff 14 which i tried this week. Lking it so far.
Thank you for your voice going out to the public. One of the most important points you made is EVERYTHING is data, everything is pixels. And maybe they think we're crazy for having old stuff in our own personal guild bank but yeah, if they lost very rare mounts, titles and achievements no longer available (what if they had "The Immortal?" Can't get that on retail anymore). So, anything that you care about CAN be taken away and unless you're a high-profile player (world-first race guild, streamer, major content creator) you will most likely be SOL. There are plenty of people out in the community who might think we are blowing this out of proportion, but if it's something THEY care about, they might change their toon. Also, MANY of the people who were hit were some of the most loyal, long-time players - that's why we HAD so much - expansions and expansions worth of stuff, and we are the very people they seem to care the least about. Aside from the gold value and "stuff," it's the feeling of emptiness when you look at the bank and the ineptitude, thoughtlessness and betrayal of Blizzard Entertainment towards many loyal customers. I'm am so sorry that you've lost irreplaceable items. That's one of the worst things. Along with hard-to-get recipes. You get a queasy feeling in your gut when you think about such things. I lost probably over 95% on my one (what I consider to be my main BANK toon). I've been playing for almost 18 years. This one help mostly cloth, enchanting mats, elemental mats, misc. mats from Vanilla through Shadowlands. (I hadn't cleaned out my personal/reagent bank of DF stuff). I also had 2 tabs of recipes. My main toon that I PLAY is tailor/enchanter, so this stuff was very meaningful to me. This was my hardest hit bank. My active guild (the one with people in it) lost probably betw. 40 to 50%? And other banks anywhere from nothing (thank goodness my pet bank didn't get hit!!!) to about 60%. Same as you, I LOVED having all of the mats, knowing that I could make any mog, any enchant illusion or anything, for myself, guildies (from my active guild, not bank toons) and friends. For example, in Dragonflight, you needed a specific CRAFTED CLOAK to get a toy from Zaralek Caverns. So, I was able to make the base cloak (since I HAD all of the mats) on my tailor and then get on my Leatherworker and finish up the cloak and do it for ANYONE who wanted it. Now? Not anymore. I was left with a few stacks of Shadowlands cloth (which are the most COMMON) and lost all of the ones from Vanilla through BfA. I lost almost all of my enchanting mats. I DID have large brilliant shards left. Also, a small stack of motes of mana, a few stacks of progenitor essentia, and 2 recipes. Out of tabs that were anywhere betw. 3/4 full to completely full. Of all that, I got "restoration" of large brilliant shards - items I already had in the bank AFTER the great robbery. I feel like they punched me in the gut.
Exactly, I'm so glad you got that point I was trying to make -- it's ALL pixels, it's ALL data. I would be super upset to lose Hand of A'dal. I'd be super upset to lose Rhok'delar. I'd be devastated to see my main character vanish. It's all the same thing in the end, just rows in a database. If anyone values anything they have done in this game, whether it's gold-capping or getting unobtainable achievements or whatever else, then they need to understand that it is NOT SAFE because Blizzard clearly isn't going to do the right thing and fix data loss. And yes, those of us who were probably hit the hardest are likely to be the players who have played the longest. I still have Zul'Gurub bijous and coins, Primal Bat Leather and more from ZG. So much was lost in the Cataclysm that cannot be retrieved now that it's been lost. But we shouldn't even have to need to do that. I'm so sorry about all of your losses. That is incredibly hard. I hope we can make some noise to get Blizz to restore us. What they've done as restoration is ridiculous and is insulting, IMHO.
@@kurnmogh Thank you. If they were TRYING to troll us, I don't think they could have done a better job than their "restoration." Worst part was, we actually thought they MIGHT do something for us and when they said "partial restoration" I'm sure all of us thought that it would be at least HALF or even MOST of our stuff, not a handful that could easily fit into the backpack. 😮💨😞
You mean the soon to be locked, removed and dleted post as they are tryign to bury this now as fast as possible? That post? I quit. Forever. There wont be another blizzard anything in my life. I moved over the ff14 screw blizzard. I moved on from that abusive relatioship
@@dreadbull5039 So you are one of those still playing. Telling ya. Dont bitch and moan and cry like a little person when they take your crap away next time. Remember these words. Remember them. As a matter of fact if they do delete your stuff you will remember these words. If only i had listened and acted you will say to yourself. Even if you did not lose anything and are still playing then what is that tellign blizzard? That you dont really care since it did not involve you. But the issue is deeper as blizzard itself seems to be incapable of storing, handling and restoring data properly, as the means to restore those intems exist. They are just seeing how many people will walk so the next time they can do the same thing and not do a damn thing. If they only lose those that lost things which is a huge number and those who dotn want to lose things which is a number i dont know then they might think twice about shitting on their paying customers. As it is now...they lost me. I am playing FF 14 and blizzard can go where the sun dont shine. I gave up my 14 year account. Full lore master of all expansions. 6 max characters with all profs maxxed out on all expansion. 4 more charcters with other maxed profs. 16k achieves. 611 item level but doing 6's the day i quit. I used to do 15's so can go further as healer. Blizzard can fudge right off. They stole money from people. People had tokens stored in the guild banks bought with real life cash. Dont moan and cry if they take your crap. Just dont.
Original loss was noticed on 8/16 but more was taken 8/20 reset day. I did take screenshots on 8/16, 8/20 and 8/24. Today (9/20) I got a whoppin 14 items refunded! I am understandably pissy with the "Sorry for your loss" attitude from blizzard. Now the guildbank is useless. No one trusts that Blizzard Mcburgler won't rob us again. Btw the refunded items were not the items missing from 8/16 to 8/20. Come on Bliz DO BETTER and compensate us for your massive f-up.
More was taken?! Holy crap. And all you got was 14 items that weren't even the ones that went missing in that time span? I'm so sorry. This is absolutely ridiculous. I completely agree with you that the trust has been lost. I don't trust they won't mess up in another way causing more data loss. This should be a much bigger thing in the community. Thank you for sharing your story.
In the same boat as other. Multiple guild banks that were affected. Whole tabs wiped clean. I have yet to receive a single item back for any of those banks. I'm so angry. I cringe when I think about logging on and doing dailies and other stuff.
Yeah, I feel you, and I'm sorry for your losses. I'm in a state of disappointment that I haven't felt in a long time. I think I'm still shocked, to be honest. I logged in a bit Monday and Tuesday, but I'm not real motivated to do anything because it could, you know, vanish in the next maintenance for all I know.
What kind of developer does this kind of operation with no back up and/or a way to revert it? I came back to WoW this expansion (haven't played seriously since Legion) and I was meaning to clean up the Guild Bank but when I came to look at it 3-4 tabs had been gutted and the response is basically "It's gone, sorry!". They *need* to make this right.
Screw you. You are not getting a thing back. Now stfu and pay you sub and be glad you got a game to play. How does it feel to be in that relationship? Still want to give them money?
I have every guild bank tab unlocked and every single one is empty. Not a single thing is inside it. I stayed quiet for quite a while because I saw it was a known issue. Last week I finally got mad enough to send in a ticket. I got an auto reply, so I replied that the issue still isn't fixed. The reply I got to that was for now just mail things to other characters since I'm scared to deposit anything in it with all that was lost. I had tons of patterns, including some removed from the game. I also have some high price items from vanilla that aren't around anymore. Also had mats for things to make some of those removed items too. This is crazy.
I'm really sorry. I'm in a similar boat with some unobtainable patterns and things that generally no longer drop in the world (I could kill Chromaggus for scales, but it would take years to rebuild my collection!). I'm also scared to deposit anything into my guild bank. For the time being, I'm just working out of one tab of my warband bank and personal inventories.
I lost a Magic Rooster Egg, among other valuable items, but the rooster is the most gutting. And of course there is no support, best you'll get is a canned bot response saying they can do nothing and to make a post on the bug forums (that gets locked and/or deleted immediately now).
That's preposterous. I'm so sorry. I think we just have to keep at it, and keep making noise. I just asked in my latest reply to my support ticket to escalate things. Not sure how that'll go... Wow. A TCG item. That's so messed up. I'm sorry.
@@Tamriella I did list it before years ago for gold cap. Its value has kind of gone well above that at this point. In any case, I never though it would auto-delete one day.
Thank you for making this video. The same has happened in our 2 person guild bank, everything has disappeared. The initial response from Blizzard was oh dear we're sorry this has happened, we're looking into it followed by radio silence for weeks. Then we will mail ' some ' things back to the guild master, not good enough. Anything short of returning ALL missing items is unacceptable.
I'm sorry this happened to you too. I completely agree, ALL missing items need to be returned. I can be patient as long as the end goal is me getting all my stuff. Hopefully if we all are loud about our anger and outrage and disappointment, we can effect change.
Thank you for this video! I have felt all along that nobody is listening and nobody knows this even happened. I told a friend last night when I logged in after a month of not playing and he had no clue. I've been playing for 20 years along with my now 82 year old mother. She had given me things to just pack away in my private guild bank along with my own things...rare no longer available BOE weapons, patterns, etc...also letters from people I played with for years who are no longer alive or not playing..it's honestly devastating. Wow has been an important part of my life for 20 years and the way they have treated us by no communication, answering tickets with vague "TOO BAD SO SAD" attitude is very disappointing. At first I thought it was crazy for me to just say I QUIT TAKE THAT!! but that doesn't work that way lol....sooo I have stopped playing and have found another mmorpg that i am LOVING and not sure I'll go back to wow. Ive tried to check back and my blood pressure literally goes up haha. Someday if I can get my head around this loss I'll be back..ive always come back to WOW but I just don't know :( Thanks again for this! I needed it :) I hope things work out for you and you're able to get back your items!! As with every one of the 1000's or more people, guild members, etc who have had faith in WOW for all these years.
And yet losers are still given them money. Even the GM of my guild is till giving them money even though he lost everything in a guild bank that goes back to 2006 and had more than 50 people logging in every single day. Some people are unable to see an abusive relationship when it stares them in the face
Thank you for making a video about this! I lost a ton of stuff from my handful of guilds (that are all just me). I only got one pattern back in the mail, total. This is not ok.
I'm so sorry for what you're going through. It's not okay, you're right. And that's why I HAD to make a video. If it was just me, that's one thing, but there are at least hundreds of people affected and so many others who, I'm sure, have no idea. :(
I have a backup of my saved data the night before the pre-patch. Using the data from Altoholic, I know EXACTLY what was in my banks (10+ guilds), and I know what I lost. I got 1 mail with 1 partial stack of items back. I have 5 guilds now that have NOTHING IN THEM (completely lost everything), while the rest easily lost 75-80% of their items.. And all but 2 of these are personal banks, I was the ONLY person in them. And as you showed, I have logs in the game that show deposits and no withdrawls, but all the items are gone. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? It's sad that I have a better backup of what I had vs Blizzard.
Oh wow, I wish I'd continued using Altoholic! Good call. I'm so glad you at least know exactly what you had and what you lost. I'm sorry that you were affected so badly. :( And yes, it's sad that you have a better backup than Blizz says they have. I think you could make a great argument for restoration. Have you opened tickets at all?
As if that data you saved will do a thing. They are done "restoring" now so you r choice is this. STFU or pay your monthly sub dues. Nice relationship you have. Liek getting bitch slapped or are you going man/women up and leave like the rest of us?
Thanks for making the video about the Great Blizzard Bank Heist. I had three personal guild banks affected with missing items. Two guild leaders got minimal Blizzard mail of 6 or so items returned a few days ago. The third bank guild leader had nothing mailed back. I wondered if the Blizzard in-game mailings were just automated tests to see if a guild bank was active or not. Who knows. In the meantime, I don't use the banks and watch the wonky bank logs for activity. Its been hard to find any gaming news about the game bug issue beyond the Blizzard forums.
Sure thing, I hope making some noise can raise the visibility and make it uncomfortable enough for Blizzard to rethink their decision. I'm so sorry you were so badly affected. I think the teams can tell if an account is active, so that's probably their best attempt at restoration, rather than a test... 🙄
Like oithers on this list. I had seven tabs. I lost almost everything. All seven tabs were full of cloth... now they sit, empty... I don't know what gear I lost... I can't recall. I also don't know what I lost in terms of gold either. Oh yes, the compensation... I never got anything back. So I assumed that whatever I lost... its gone forever. You also earned my sub, you spoke on this issue with grace and care. I am in awe!. I commend you for being able to speak of what must be an exceptionally difficult loss without losing your composure. I salute you!
I'm so sorry you're going through this as well, and hit harder than many. It's such a difficult thing to go through and I'm really glad we have a community, of sorts, of people who just get it. Even if they haven't gone through it themselves, others are chiming in with their support. Thanks so much for the sub and the kind words. I just spoke from the heart and that's what came out. I appreciate your watching and commenting. Thank you.
We had a family bank, all the stuff in there was everything not soulbound from Dragonflight that we collected. 7 tabs mostly filled, all emptied. It is now Monday evening and I had 0 items restored. All that time and effort gone. We hadn't even bought everything from the rep vendors as we wanted to do that at the end of the expansion... and then everything got deleted. The worth most gold: pets, mounts gone... And I got nothing, just an insincere apology and now I can't trust this game to store anything.
Oh no, that's too crushing to know that your whole family's affected. :( I completely agree, the trust I once had in Blizzard is gone. Have you posted on the forums? Any traction anywhere?
@@kurnmogh Made many posts on the EU forums, posted on socials and websites. Making sure we are heard and told other to do as well. Linked everyone reporting on it so everyone could comment there. I also quit my subscription told them why and set them an ultimatum. I raised my voice since the release of TWW how much Blizzard dropped the ball and how it is the buggiest release we ever had. Its not just our guildbanks, people lost reputation, honor, characters, items lost from their warband, gold from their guildbanks and auctions... They are playing a really dangerous game with these faster content releases. I feel we are getting more problems than benefits. I do want to say: thank you for raising this issue. We feel abandoned by most people. For some reason this severe issue is not getting much coverage and some of the coverage has been minimizing it all.
I should probably clarify the characters issue. There was a bug when deleting a character it wouldn't take the one you selected but the first one on the list. Which is usually the main character of people. That happened when character restore was deactivated so people couldn't get their main characters back for the release of TWW. Now they brought back character restore and people get errors and are unable to restore characters. So some people still can't access their main characters. It's a shame how badly they are messing things up. I was really enjoying TWW... and now... I can't play anymore because nothing is safe and I'm angry at Blizzard.
I'm so sorry for your losses. I hope you know you're not alone. There's power in numbers and if we can make some noise, maybe we can change their minds.
Sadly, the employees that would care about the customers most likely don't have jobs anymore there. I lost all respect for Blizz 10 years ago when I was accused of "Ruining the economy". I even had video to prove they were wrong. It took knowing someone who worked there to look at my last appeal. This after 10 years of not even a blip. This was right after they sent me that fancy statue. Since then I spend as little as possible on anything, was even absent for a whole expansion. I play with friends and still raid, but screw the store and all the other crap. I sell it immediately and use gold to buy tokens to pay sub. I still have the lucky rabbits foot that a friend gave me in game, though. They no longer play and have long since moved on. I still have stuff, just not in a guild bank. My guild bank is empty. I hear you though. It is frustrating. This is why they keep changing the terms of service and slip in a lot of stuff they figure no one reads.
Oh, I agree. Especially given that Microsoft has purchased Activision-Blizzard-King. But if we make it loud, maybe we can effect change. That's my hope, anyway. I'm sorry about your past issues with them -- you're smart to use personal storage. Interesting point regarding the TOS. I'll have to read through it and see if I can find something about data loss here. Even if they ARE covered by their TOS, it doesn't change the fact that the right thing to do is to restore us.
So sorry this happened to you and many thanks for making this video. I also played from the very early days of wow. I was in the EU beta test, played on US servers for a while and then on EU servers when they started later and ever since. Our affected guild was also setup when BC came out when I moved servers. Eventually the guild died and now it is only used by myself and my RL partner who also plays. We only lost 2 tabs and I only have a vague idea what was there. For me it is not so much what was lost, but how blizzard reacted when it became a known problem: No announcements and seemingly ignored because they were too busy with their new expansion to care. Also, that their reaction creates a complete lack of trust in playing the game going forward. At any moment more stuff could go missing and depending on what it is they might care and fix or they might just not bother and ignore you. You might expect this on a beta game or a free game, but this is a subscription game. Reputation means nothing to them anymore I guess. I was on the forum asking if it might be to do with the new cross-realm functionality before I had seen anyone else mention it. I still don’t know for sure, but I highly suspect my bank was affected by me joining a toon on another realm to the guild just out of curiosity to see if I could access the bank. All I did at that time was open the bank and go, yea seems to work and never did anything else. That might be why only the first 2 tabs of our bank were affected, I probably didn’t look at the others. I don’t get why they aren’t offering a full restore of the bank to guilds which froze access the moment they noticed the issue. Also, there was a warbank bug at the same time where items went missing. They froze that bank and fixed that - so why was the guild bank issue not treated the same and fixed just as quickly? It smells a lot like they just can’t be bothered, rather than it isn’t possible
Oh no, I'm sorry you were affected by this. :( I agree that they basically ignored it publicly because they were too busy with the new expansion and all of its issues. And I also agree that the lack of trust is a serious issue now. What's next, my Hand of A'dal title? My Rhok'delar? My Benediction? It's interesting that you saw issues directly after your toon on another realm joined. For myself, I added three toons from MOP Remix, but they were all on the same server, so that doesn't seem to be a commonality. Odd. And I don't understand why they won't restore things either, unless they just can't be bothered. Here's hoping we can make some noise about it!
UGGG!! I found your video first thing in the morning and now I'm pissed off all over again! I had a personal gbank FULL of tailoring and enchanting mats! Full! Every tab full! It was all post Dragonlands stuff but I still used it for crafting older stuff. I only had 2 toons in the bank. Bilzz has wiped all the logs so you can't even see what had been put in. I haven't gotten anything back as of Sept 24. I'm not going to hold my breath, I doubt they'll return anything.
I'm so sorry. That's so rough. Blizz only shows logs, I think, when the tab has been used in the last few months. Like 3? 6? Something like that. It's never been a complete history and there is a cutoff. So if you hadn't used the tab in a while, that's likely why the log is blank. Yep, I'm not holding my breath either, but I'm going to be LOUD about it.
I have 10 guilds that were absolutely ravaged and what they gave back to 1 guild was an absolute slap in the face i had multiple pet tabs totally emptied and what i got back was a snowman the most worthless pet in the entire tab and i had many extremely rare pets, another guild got a 14 slot backpack and 2 other useless items spitting in my face when 70 % + items were missing from every tab, those were the only 2 guilds i received any items from/ Most of my affected guilds had 90 % + items gone 1 guild literally was full of gear for transmogs and such had 1 item left in the first tab. They can restore items that have been disenchanted or vendored or deleted but they can't restore all these items that thousands and thousands of people have had gone missing from guild banks? I bet all the top guilds have every single item restored and some compensation for them also. Now i don't know where to put any items what is safe now if guild banks can have items disappear with no log of it mail sometimes doesn't show up from stuff i have sent myself or purchased.
I'm really sorry, that's such a horrible thing to go through. The feeble attempts at restoration are also incredibly insulting. I feel you. I don't know what's safe anymore. Is anything safe? I'm hoping to just ignore the guild bank for now and work out of my ever-changing one-tab warband bank. It's got valuables in it, but it's nothing precious.
Lost four tabs full of stuff. Another tab half empty. Mostly crafting mats from all the previous expansions but also pets and recipes. Only a few were really irreplaceable but simply considering the time I spent gathering them means their value is a lot more than the stack of 229 frostweave they sent me.
I cannot fathom how they think that these extremely small restorations are acceptable. I just don't get it. I'm so sorry you lost so much stuff, not to mention time and energy in collecting them.
@@kurnmogh I still hope they are not done with restorations. Maybe they didn't want to flood the mailboxes and risk other complications. I also hope they will give us something for compensation even if only symbolic The problem is they know that not even full restoration can repair the damage. People lost stuff right on the change of the new expansion. Stuff they wanted to sell or use which are now useless.
@@thehivetyrant614 You're preaching to the choir here. I really hope we can still see restoration, but I'm not convinced we'll see anything. I definitely wanted to sell all kinds of things! I put them in the guild bank for safe keeping! It's really put a bad taste in my mouth after I was genuinely enjoying TWW. Fingers crossed here.
I lost EVERY SINGLE item in my guild bank. Thousands of items going back to vanilla. Mats, rare rep tokens, various potions and other rare items etc. Nearly 20 years of items collected…all gone. I had just done a full revamp and reorganization of my guild bank the day warband banks became functional. I know every item that I lost because they are still listed in my guild bank log. If I have that information then so does Blizzard. I cannot believe for one minute that every item cannot be restored to me. As of writing this, I have received ZERO items back that were lost.
Oof, I'm so sorry. I'm glad you have a record! Please keep the records safe -- screenshot them, video them, whatever you need to do. They may be helpful in an eventual restoration. Fingers crossed!
what i gathered from Blizzard about this, was them basically saying "Oooopppss, sorry?" Thats some serious clown ass shit....if they cant even protect data from disappearing in game, do you really trust them with your bank account or credit card info now?
I trust them with nothing. Thanks for the reminder, I'll go unlink my payment info right now. 👍 (We'll see how the restoration issue unfolds before I make a decision to quit.)
I think the best approach at this point is for all of us to inundate the forums as well as open GM tickets every day if we did not get all of our items back. Hopefully with enough pressure they will put more time and effort into addressing this failure properly
Already got the ticket open here (it's on like the fourth back-and-forth) and I'll post on the forums too. I hope some gaming sites will also pick it up.
I made the mistake of depositing a lot of stuff in my warband bank before the expansion launch... about half of it gone. Support is just like yeah we can do nothing, but please do report a bug... sucks..
So you're saying you've lost stuff out of your warband bank? It's not just guild banks? 😮 That's the first I've heard of the warband banks being affected. And your ticket just got closed, I guess? Have you posted on the forums at all? I'm so sorry that you lost so much stuff.
@@kurnmogh Similar thing happened to my warband bank, but only to the pre-launch gear that you could buy. It ended up being restored back to the warband bank a week or two later, but yeah some warbound gear was removed when it first went live.
A bug happened with the radiant echoes warbound gear that was in warband bank at launch. The items would become souldbound and therefore dissappear. From what I've heard they have been restored, at least I still have them.
@@memorize8020 Interesting! I remember reading something about that, so I checked my stuff and I'm pretty sure I wasn't affected (I didn't farm much up to start with, tbh, though). Why can't Blizzard keep track of what should be in our dang banks?? Thanks for the data point here, appreciate it!
@@HildesYT Yes, it seems as though for this case and the warband bank, it's all good. I really don't get why the guild bank should be any different, frankly...
3 guild banks affected here, (All personal guilds, containing my own alts)2 major, 75%-90% wiped out. This so called "restoration" is an insult. The lack of attention this has gained in the world outside of the forums is honestly astounding. The fact that a Community Manger said, and I literally quote "The issue was resolved. You don’t have to wait to use the guild bank." You think I'm using my Guild Banks again? Ever? I received mats from DF on my main guild, perhaps 5% of what went missing. 2nd Guild for 3 lockboxes and grey transmog, 5-6 items total, from hundreds of slots missing. 3rd bank got nothing but to be honest I don't think much was missing as I had recently cleared it out. This could honestly make or break WoW, time will tell. What other data are they going to lose? It's just a game right? None of it belongs to us, we never own it, any of it, we understand this but we expect a certain amount of "ownership" whilst we play the game (16 years for me). Trust, gone. Period.
I'm so sorry about your so-called "restoration". That is absolutely insulting. I'm not touching my Guild Bank again, especially upon knowledge that some of these items may still be seen by Blizz folks?? I think that them saying to use the bank means we will overwrite what's there and they won't have the data to restore. As to your point on what other data will they lose, EXACTLY. That's exactly my point. Am I upset about pixels and database rows? Yes. But that's what this ENTIRE GAME is based on. My trust is at an all-time low, and that is saying a LOT.
It's not really pixels: it's time and money. You pay them to play, they have a responsibility to ensure that the money you give them isn't wasted. Also, there isn't any data loss. Just because you can't see the logs doesn't mean they don't exist. Everyone who has been effected by this should sue them for those logs.
Sadly, I don't think a lawsuit will do anything here. It would depend on what a lawyer has to say about the EULA and TOS. But I fully agree, I don't think there's data loss. I think they're just not inclined to fix things.
I sympathize and I'm so sorry this happened to you as well. My 2 private guild banks were completely wiped, all 7 tabs of each emptied. They were dedicated to professions materials from multiple expansions, but there were also tabs with personal mementos, including gifts from friends, and even a library tab where I kept interesting in-game books and scrolls for my personal enjoyment. Nothing in it was for selling or making profit, just for my crafts, personal perusal and enjoyment, occasional gifts for friends and things to reminisce over. Years of adventuring in the game and dedicated gathering just gone. Materials I may be able to replenish over time, but there is no replacing most of the mementos and the memories tied to them. As of writing this comment, I have not received anything back.
Oh, I'm so very sorry. It's the mementos that are the hardest. Letters and things that make you think of others and the memories you created with them. That's so much to lose alone, not even counting the profession materials. I'm so sorry for all that you've lost. :(
@@kurnmogh I hear ya. Search for ‘Potential Breakup Song’ by Aly & Aj. If ya change boyfriend/girlfriend to Blizzard and birthday to bank stuff then it is a fun song.
I am the GM for a guild on Turalyon. We had a full guild bank. We lost thousands of items. Including mounts, pets and toys. Not to mention all the old mats, new mats and mogs. I received only some cheese and an old profession bag that became bop when I took it out of the mailbox. I am very upset by this. I do not understand why they can't restore all the items. They must have a back up. This is not a way a good business is run.
I have two guilds and both of them were savaged by this "glitch". I've lost 90% of tabs containing elemental mats, jewels and enchanting mats spanning all the expansions. I was gutted. I had alts that were going to levels professions with those mats, but I guess there's no point to that now so I've deleted a whole bunch of alts. I feel like quitting like a bunch of other people have, but WoW is how my long distance bf and I spend time together. I don't know if I should just sell what's left, or try to build it back up again. While on one hand I'm glad that it was just hoarded mats and not something more important like letters and such, damn this is just totally unacceptable. Oh, and I got four stacks of mats back on one bank and 6 stacks on the other. Of stuff I already have. None of the totally gutted items were returned to me at all. Very very disappointing.
Oh, I'm so very sorry. That's a lot to have lost. :( The question of what to do now is hard. I think that, first, we can't trust them not to screw us over again. Next, I want to see if we can make some noise to make a difference. And third, then make the decision if I want to stay or go. I've skipped entire expansions before, I have no trouble cutting my sub for several months or years. It's hard when the game is your main way of spending time with a loved one, though. I totally get what you're saying. Disappointing is the word.
Sadly, I don't think anyone can sue, based on the terms of service and the EULA. But there's a difference between what they legally are obliged to do and what is the right thing to do. And they don't seem interested in the right thing. I've got my fingers crossed that you're not affected!
Definitely affected. Been playing 18+ years and, like you, I kept stuff in my personal guild banks that took countless hours of time to gather, and some stuff that's no longer attainable. From what I can tell, 2 of my personal guild banks (1 totally full, 1 nearly full), were hit hard. I noticed that the logs were incomplete as well. Both affected gb's I *KNOW* I had moved stuff around & deposited stuff in, yet the logs didn't show anything more recent than about 6 months prior to the hit. It's as if there was a problem going on with the banks for months that they just weren't paying attention to. I always use the guild repair option, and it wasn't even showing the gold withdrawls for those, for months. After they "fixed" the issue, suddenly the logs are again showing those transactions. What little info is still visible in the logs, there are things showing deposited that "disappeared" from the tab, and yet they haven't even gone so far as comparing the log to what's still in the bank & replacing those items that clearly went "poof!". I just came across a backup file in my comp for the Armory addon, and comparing that to the most recent overwrite, I can see items I know I had that are no longer in the bank (i.e. item=147420, which is the "Pebble" from Dalaran, that you need to do a new TWW quest). Going to attempt to use that data (since initially Blizz was asking US to tell THEM what was missing, when our logs don't show it), to get at least SOME things returned. But I don't have high hopes, considering how shitty their response has been to date.
They sent me less then 6 stacks of what i had thats gone missing, its fucking pathetic their so called fix Checked my second guild bank and they restored 14 items, they have restored nothing at all this shit is unacceptable, tons of shit i was gonna auction gone, tons of mats i was gonna use now that the changes to how we gain gear in the collection gone, tons of keep sakes and consumeable toys gone they need to fix this shit yesterday Beyond pissed off with all i lost, it wouldnt be so bad if i didnt have to use two guild banks, warbound, void storage, multiple normal banks and crafting banks because they continue to forget this is 20years of gaming and we have 20years of stuff
Ugh, I'm sorry. As a long-time player, I feel you. We have stuff! It's meaningful to us! It reminds us of a particular achievement or a particular experience or it symbolizes the blood, sweat and tears that went into something. Or just the sheer time that we spent collecting things. I am so sorry and I really hope they're able to replace things for people, despite their post to the contrary. We gotta be loud about it. (Polite, but loud.)
I lost 6 swift spectral tigers, I bought like 20 back in WoD when hundreds of them were duped, Blizzard refuses to return them even, I lost hundreds of millions of gold in my guild vaults.
How on earth is it possible that each story I read from people is worse than the last? That's absolutely insane to lose even one tiger, much less six. I'm so sorry. That's verging on unimaginable. Thank you for sharing with us.
Hey, I'm not in it for the views, I'm not even monetized! 😂 I'm grateful to BlizzardWatch for mentioning the issue (if not my video) in their latest podcast: ua-cam.com/video/GVuAWYjXyZY/v-deo.html
@@kurnmogh I didnt mean it like that. If it gets a lot of views it becomes harder for blizzard to brush it off and ignore it. There are plenty of unaffected players on the forums giving support but they arent making it here it seems. Love him or hate him, but I wish Asmongold would do a reacts to video of this
Pages and stacks of stuff 'gone'! gone!... I can't even remember even the masses of stuff lost in our guild bank. I call it a 'bail in'... banks stealing from the depositers. I got part of one page back in the mail yesterday. I was so hoping that I would be getting a page back per day... I guess not per this video.
I'm not Blizzard! I don't know for a fact this is it, I'm just going by their absolutely unacceptable blue post. I'm so sorry you're also going through this. You're not alone.
@@kurnmogh i know that, I was just adding on that this happened to me too. I meant that you got the same lingo from Blizz that we aren't getting our stuff back.
@@llaevigrof They said, and this is the misleading part, IMHO, that "some guilds will get a partial restoration", but then allowed us to think that all other guilds will get a full restoration. It's clear now that the guilds with partial restoration are the "lucky" ones, as the other guilds will not get *any* restoration.
I am so thankful that this bug did not affect my personal guild bank but I am gutted for all of those that were. I will follow this issue closely and lend my support to any future initiatives against Blizzard to fix this issue. I am so sorry - this is not acceptable :((
Thank you so much for your kindness here. I'm relieved you weren't affected. Please do continue to speak out in support of us who have lost things -- it's greatly appreciated. :)
I lost almost 6 full tabs as well, only got 34 crusader orbs back despite seeing items deposited in the gbank log which where not restored. So there is more data available than Blizzard claims, but they just don't want to spend time and money on it anymore. 20 years of collecting down the drain and no compensation, what a way to treat your customers..
I really do think this is what it boils down to: Blizzard doesn't want to spend time and money on it anymore. Hell, I will personally do restorations for the next six months FOR FREE if they let me. I know how databases work! I work in tech! But they wouldn't ever let someone do that, especially now that they've said "they cannot" versus "they will not". Totally agree that this is NOT the way to treat one's customers. I'm so sorry you lost so much stuff. 34 Crusader Orbs is not enough after losing several tabs' worth.
@@kurnmogh Thank you for your sympathy and and I'm sorry for your loss too. I used my guildbank the same way as you - a tab for each profession and some misc stuff and I'm just so heartbroken and angry over this issue and the way Blizzard handled it (or well, lack of handling it tbh...) Also dissapointed in the bigger community sites and streamers not talking more about this, so thank you for helping to raise awareness on this issue! We need to continue to make some noise!
Honestly from everything I’ve read, the pitiful amount of items that they have “restored” to people (aka 34 crusader orbs) is so pathetic that it’s more of a slap in the face than any kind of recompense
@@dreadbull5039Indeed, those orbs represented less than 1% of the full inventory and it’s my impression from the blizz forum thread that it’s around the same for most. With such a low restoration rate it’d been better if they hadn’t restored anything because they gave ppl a glimmer of hope and then you just felt ridiculed on top of all the other emotions 😢
@@NkaraStormrage Yeah it’s a pitifully inadequate response from Blizzard. And we all know they could do more but choose not to. That’s the part that makes me mad.
I got hacked back at the end of Legion. I hadn't been playing for about a month and cam back to see everything altered: professions changed, etc. I got the account back in my control, but then about a week later my solo guild was erased. When questioned the GMs said there had been strange activity over the last few weeks and because of that they erased the guild. I told them I had been hacked and only just got my account back, their response was "oh well, you can start again". I told them how useless I thought they were and unsubbed.
!!! They deleted the guild?! Ridiculous. There are better ways to block hackers than to delete a guild! That's absolutely absurd and I'm so sorry you went through that. :(
Hmm I saw this on reddit and now I'm worried. I have a personal guild bank organised by expansion with probably millions of gold worth of items going from vanilla to now that I hoarded, but I haven't logged into it in a while. Many items are unobtainable, including things like Haunted Memento... Also, like, are guild banks just unusable/untrustable now? Who would keep putting items into a storage system that isn't backed up, and could just be wiped randomly?
Oof, fingers crossed for you. You should probably check and if you're missing things, open a ticket and raise some hell. ... come to think of it, I KNOW I have a Haunted Memento somewhere. I just have no idea where. With my luck, it was one of the many items that are gone that I don't have memory of or record of. :( They SAY guild banks are usable. I'm not trusting it at all. As to who would keep putting items into that storage, yeah, that's a great point -- but playing the game at all brings the same question. Who's to say my Lightforge Armor or Beastmaster Armor will stick around? What about my Hand of A'dal title? My raid-related mounts? As far as I'm concerned, I don't trust Blizzard with ANY data right now. Hope you're not affected -- please do let me know how it goes.
Same situation here. My own guild since TBC, with tons of materials from all expansions, primals, crystalized shit, recipes... 20 years of playing the game - gone. Well, not entire playtime, but all the memories. I have no idea what to do. Cant even sue the company...
Thanks for making this video, because this seriously has me rethinking things. Anytime, anything could be wiped out, anywhere. Not sure going forward how I am going to play the game if nothing can be trusted, and only an, “oops sorry “ and some garbage back as the response. Not even trying to make their wrong, right.
Right? I'm no longer certain about anything. What if my Rhok'delar is next? My Hand of A'dal title? We can't trust them until they make this right. I hope you're not also dealing with this issue.
My husband and I lost almost our entire horde guild vault. our classic storage, pet and alliance guild vaults were fine but horde was gutted. the only thing we got back was 1200 silk cloth.... out of hundreds of other items??? to be fair I'm not sure how they could get our stuff back if the data is gone, but I sure hope they set up a safe backup from now on. 🙏
I'm really sorry, that's awful. (And I say that as a die-hard Alliance player, so you know I'm taking it seriously!) 1200 silk is a sad attempt at restoration. I'm sorry. As to the data being "gone", I cannot conceive that Blizzard lost it. It just doesn't make sense. They've been doing this game for like 20 years. They know the integrity of the data is the thing of primary importance. I think they just don't care to put people on this issue. :( I'm so sorry for your losses. Here's hoping we can holler and make some noise.
Lost around 1mil that I know of, got empy "recovered" mails and that's it. It's beyond pathethic behaviour from giant corporation, that they don't think compensation is in order. What's interesting that we have guild logs dating for long time before this, why can't they use it to compare with what's there ?
Laziness, incompetence, greed... probably a combination of all three, tbh. I'm so sorry that you were affected by this. I'm also glad that I'm not the only one who thinks their inability to restore things doesn't make any sense.
I got a handful of soul dust (absolute trash), and about 10 locked boxes that when unlocked are empty (but also they won't disappear as they should when opened). Meaning, I basically got nothing back. Blizz lies, and lies, and lies.... Downplaying this to hell. They locked our forum thread where we were commiserating and supporting each other. They are ignoring us again too. And now with the rumbles that personal banks are going to switch to tab formatting (which i welcome, I need the space!) you know this is about to happen there too. I really REALLY hope they give us a warning.
SOUL DUST? And lockboxes? That's egregiously insulting. I'm so sorry. ... where are these rumbles about personal banks? I don't want them to touch ANYTHING ELSE. 😒
@@kurnmogh the rumbles are on the forums, I keep seeing people mentioning it as "blizz said..." but I never bothered to follow it back to a source because I'm dealing with the guild bank issue still. Thank you so much for making a video. It feels like everyone is just ignoring this.
@@PixieYelsraek I'll keep an eye out and see if I can't find something. I hope to have an update video this week sometime. And yes, so many people are ignoring this! I'm grateful to BlizzardWatch for including it in their latest podcast: ua-cam.com/video/GVuAWYjXyZY/v-deo.html
Imagine putting your stuff in a warehouse, paying the rent each month for 15 years or more then coming back to an empty locker/unit/lot - company says "sorry your stuff was stolen by our employees, here's an expired IHOP coupon from 2003 as compensation" The smell of bullshit is unbearable
Ahahahaha, you got me with the expired IHOP coupon from 2003. Thanks so much for the laugh. :) But yes, that's pretty much what it's like. I hope you're not too badly affected.
To me its more like you come home to find your house mostly burned down. Then you call up your insurance only to find out they're the ones who started the fire for some reason. Also they're not going to replace anything or cover the damage because they left the records of what you owned in the fire, that they started. And somehow during all this they expect you to keep paying your insurance subscription. Absolute Insanity.
I lost 6 tabs Completly full Guild Bank. One man guild that once was a pretty high level raiding guild. Mainly dragonflight items granted, but even vendoring would have been millions of gold. I didnt put personal items in the guild bank and had 18 toons all contributing to it. What really pissed me off about the situation was the ticket responses. Not ONCE did they say we are aware of the problem, or respond with any hint of sympathy for my situation. The guild still had 50 or so toons that have long since quit the game in it, so my first thought was one of those old guildies came in and ninja'd the bank. I researched each and every toon, logs etc Nothing at all......Blizzard could have at least saved me that grief by just saying " We are aware of an issue" I found a post on reddit that made me realize I was far from alone in this. I recieved maybe 30 items back from Blizzard. Leather Ore etc. But my anger still stems from the many tickets I submitted, all with the same response, We are investigating your case, or something along those lines, and Ticket marked Resolved. No Not resolved Blizz far from resolved.
I lost my patience with them and told them, after the fourth (?) interaction that they could close the ticket but I did not consider the issue resolved in the slightest. I'm really sorry for everything you've lost. It's true, though, we're not alone. And I hope that by making noise about it we can enact change.
I literally have no idea how much I was impacted because I switched factions a few expansions ago and left my Alliance guild bank as it was without cleaning it fully out (for reasons, wanted to leave it untouched in memory of a friend who I haven't heard from in 12 years). It was just the two of us who ever used it, and their battlenet account hasn't been online in over a decade so... wasn't them.
Oh no, I'm so sorry. I think this is another thing that people in general don't understand. We make connections in this game, fleeting or not. I was a bridesmaid at the wedding of one of my guild members. These connections and relationships can last decades and they can also transcend the game. And sometimes, it's just as common that you'll never hear from them again one day and you just don't know what happened. I'm really sorry.
I'm not touching my guild bank until my stuff is back. And no, I no longer trust Blizzard for, well, basically anything. Which then calls into question what I'm actually doing, playing this game.
Thankfully since the reagent bank I kept mats specific to a particular crafter with my main for the craft. So I have a small quantity of those old scales. I have enough to make the blue shoulders. So should I make them so at least I have them in transmog? What if transmog is the next to go? I guess I could put them in void storage but what if void storage data is lost? I used my Guild Banks for crafting materials that were common to all, like elementals and orbs. And recipes and pets and novelty items. I had some of the OG Green Hills of Stranglethorn. I still have 3 of them. (some were made available durring the pre patch as gray items). I also had a lot of pets and reputation items.
My guild lost everything but some bear meat and a stack of fish. All of my pets that were leveled and waiting for sale... gone. Transmogs... gone. Nevermind all of the supplies and everything we put together for the new expansion. We have received absolutely nothing back.
Oh no, I'm so sorry. That hurts just to read about. :( And no restoration at all? I'm really sorry. I wish others weren't going through this too. Hopefully making some noise will allow us to effect some change.
FYI: You can still get those dragon scales in BWL. Most of the dragonkin will drop the black scales (including Nefarian) and Chromaggus will drop the others. Horribly tedious to rebuild a collection, but at least for these items you a solution. Of course this doesn't absolve Blizzard or reduce the absolute annoyance of losing what you had. :/
You are preaching to the choir. After "the squeeze" and Blizzard separated Classic from Retail (and all of that nonscence), I came back to the game during Dragon flight. All of the items you are describing were gone from my bank(s). I have a toon called Bankman and all of my coveted items on him are gone. No explanation(s), no warning, just removed. I really think Blizzard removed "old" items that "they" didn't think people would need with the shift in Blizzard's focus, their new expansions, and their new transmog system (and ability to purchase transmog items). I'm like you, I notice how Blizzard is shooting itself in the foot over and over, a maddening pattern of "we're the god's of this game and will make any changes we want which and, btw, don't give a damn how it affects you emotionally, mentally, or physically". The EULA is what they always fall back on, stuffing down our throats like it's they're club to keep us under their control. As Thor of PirateSoftware points out, "It sucks to work at Blizzard" and he's a Blizzard ex-employee.
You lost all these items during Dragonflight??? Early in the expansion or late? I'm so sorry all your stuff is just gone. Blizz IS shooting themselves in the foot. It's the same thing in so many companies -- short-term gain will always win out over the long-term gain earned by making their customers happy. The thing is, like in a guild, if the people in charge erode the trust of the people they serve enough, soon there won't be anyone else. As to it sucking to work at Blizzard, I totally believe that. I don't fault the employees who are just following instructions from up top -- I fault the (likely) engineering manager who was just like "yeah, forget the restorations it's fine".
My entire guild bank got wiped, several tickets from blizzard later I've been told the handful of cloth is the best they can give me, and not anything I actually lost. Sub cancelled
:( I'm so sorry. I don't blame you for cancelling. I think that may well be where I'm headed if we can't come to a reasonable resolution here. I have no problem cancelling my sub and not playing for years on end.
@@kurnmogh If Blizzard had actually kept up communication over it and told everyone what was happening like they've been promising, or if they made a genuine effort at restoring things, it wouldn't be such a huge issue. But ghosting paying customers for a month and sending them a handful of junk? Nah, stings too much to play right now
@@eunyul6471 I fully agree. Communication is the number one thing: let us know about the thing. Let us know your plan about the thing. Let us know an estimated time of resolution for the thing. Let us know of the issues preventing resolution. Be open, be candid, be transparent. I don't even know how many people are affected, I just know it's at least in the hundreds. I've been playing half-heartedly this week. We'll see what, if anything, Blizz does.
@@kurnmogh There's already plans to update the personal bank, but they haven't fixed the issue from the guild bank deletion and there's no guarantee it won't happen again. There's no official statement beyond the one update, there's conflicting blue posts saying restoration is finished and others saying it's still ongoing, there's not even a "we're taking these steps to make sure it doesn't happen again" post, let alone any compensation. If there really is no backup, fine, but to just brush it off like this and refuse to communicate about it? I'm seeing a lot of people leaving and I've already unsubscribed, I hope this makes a difference.
Thats very interesting.. My guild bank had items dissapear about a month or so ago.. I got them back in the mail yesterday! Like you my bank is only the wife and I from a good 20 years as well.. i wouldnt have noticed because I didnt lose entire pages I just lost a few expensive items I'd put in the bank for the both of us in a specific location together and 1 was missing which was very strange.. Neither of us took it and when i looked up support it was a 'known issue' and I've waited a month (I didnt log a ticket, whats the point wowhead isnt going to help me) and out of the blue I got it back in the mail with 4-5 other things i didn't know were gone. I also had another issue with the start of TWW with one of my other guild banks refusing to let me withdraw gold. It refused to let anything get under 1.5 million.. then again about a month later of weekly testing it was fixed. My guess is that they have had some kind of back end SQL issue and corrupted tables/done some kind of restore and its a mess to sort out.
I've been checking my mail and still don't have All The Things and I really doubt I'll GET All The Things. I'm glad that you got stuff restored, even stuff you didn't know was missing! Regarding the gold thing, yes, I experienced that. I don't particularly trust myself not to spend a lot of gold all at once, so I used to stick it all in my guild bank. That then got all weird for a bit and so I eventually managed to withdraw my gold (bit by bit) and dump it in my warband bank. I haven't needed my guild bank since then, so I hardly looked at it. You're probably right about the backend issue, almost certainly some corrupted data, and yes, it is a MAJOR pain to fix that sort of thing. But hell, it's doable. It'll just take time and effort (read: money) for Blizz to do it. So I don't think they will. So pleased you got some important stuff back. :)
Certainly some things are easier than others. Seeing the logs of the guild bank would definitely make things a bit easier. But none of the items "restored" to me were even in the bank logs, so they used a different source. I just don't get it. This kind of catastrophe should never have happened.
I have also been affected by this, I’ve been playing since BC and had a guild bank full of various items collected over the years. The guild bank was for myself and husband to store stuff, like everyone else that included old trans mogs, recipes, craft mats etc etc…… Alll gone apart from a few pieces of cloth left, a full guild bank! I actually can’t believe that this has happened, all we received in the mail was a stack of mageweave cloth and a wildvine recipe. How can they really expect us to be happy with a piece of mageweave cloth and a “sorry”, this is unacceptable, I think I’m actually still in shock this has happened (not meaning to be dramatic) BUT really, just accept this has happened, so much history for our time on the game, gone! Unsure on where to go from here now, but can we trust any banks now as well…Very unhappy about this and I feel for everyone in the same situation! 😢🤬🤬🤬😢
Mageweave, of all things, and a Wildvine recipe? Absolutely awful. I'm really sorry. I'm definitely still in shock myself. This game that I have played since 2005 has ALWAYS made things right by me on a personal level. It is truly shocking to me that they are going down this route of claiming they cannot restore anything. For the time being, I'm unable to trust anything Blizzard does. Who's to say my achievement progress towards... anything... won't be reset tomorrow? That I won't lose my Rhok'delar? That I won't lose my Hand of A'dal title? All of these things are the same as the guild bank -- pixels and rows in various databases. Let's hope our collective voices and anger and disappointment will be able to effect some change.
I had all pets in mine. 8 tabs, 7 were full or nearly full. I can't even begin to put an in-game value on it. I accumulated most of them organically, over 10 years or so since the battle pet system was introduced.
Ughhh, another one that feels like a punch to the gut. I'm so sorry for what you've lost. That's so difficult to even process, losing 7ish tabs of pets. Just gone. I'm sure most of them were levelled and all, too. I'm sorry.
I lost mostly general crafting mats, various flasks/pots/food, and about 50 Hexweave Bags, so I don't feel affected as bad as others, nonetheless this entire debacle is inexcusable. To the people who lost thousands upon thousands of old-world mats, recipes, xmogs, and all that incredibly rare stuff, I feel totally disheartened for you. Blizzard needs to make this right.
Oof, reading what you lost still made me feel like I was punched in the gut. I'm so sorry. It's totally inexcusable and they do need to make things right, absolutely. Thanks for chiming in and, as I said, I'm sorry you're dealing with this too.
That did occur to me later on, after I'd posted the video. Still, it's not like it's easily farmable. We're talking about, what, the second-to-last boss in a raid that resets weekly? For like ten scales or less, or varying colours? It would take me years to rebuild my collection. Also, I've been to BWL a few times and the Suppression Room makes me want to gouge my eyes out. 😅 But it's true, I could get them from Chromaggus. Also, possibly in UBRS off Gyth, to an extent... wait. They changed UBRS, didn't they? So yeah, I guess it's just BWL. Thanks for the tip, I appreciate it. :)
@@kurnmogh oh I completely understand and it's absolutely bs that it's even something you have to consider, this entire situation is beyond messed up. I just wanted to try to add something a little positive that you could at least still craft those particular lwing patterns, the scales are pretty cheap on the AH except green ❤️ I'm so sorry for everything you and others have lost.
@@SocoWow Thanks for the kind words. Looking at my AH, it's 600g a pop for Blue, 38g a pop for Red, 3g for Green, 2g and change for Black and about 5g for Worn. So if I needed to, I could still do stuff, you're right. It's just... depressing. 😔
Our guild, we've been around since the start of WoW back in 2004 and every single tab in the guild-bank was EMPTY, NOTHING was left when this so called bug happen. We've seen NOTHING to restore it in any capacity. Guild-gold all gone! It's a tragedy that they do not fix this. We've spent 20 years in this game [literally] and what do we get... Nothing. It's just corporate greed. They rather spend money on that meaningless shop of theirs then actually make something for their players who are affected by this bug... the so called, feature.
All your GOLD, too??? Holy crap, I'm really sorry. What a crushing loss. :( Corporate greed is certainly what my thinking is. It's really, really awful.
I had so much stuff in my guild bank I forgot most of it, but I’ve been getting mail from Blizzard and the Postmaster. I wondered why.. I didn’t know this had happened. I guess I will go check my bank. I hope my 1-ring is still there !
Biggest things I lost that I worked hard to get were Dragonswrath teragosas rest and shadowmorn both disappeared but still have the achievements for acquiring them would really like them back.
I'm so sorry. It's so insulting to receive some of the cheapest items that might have been lost. That's awful. Even as much as I'm an Alliance player through and through, I wouldn't even wish this on the Horde. I'm really sorry. :(
This is unacceptable to be honest people losing a lifetime of resources, momentos, Some things that can never be replaced that are no longer in the game and they just shrug it off like it's no big deal
Absolutely agree. And what about the people who lost letters sent via mail from old friends they're no longer in contact with, or those who have sadly passed away? Some stuff was really important and truly irreplaceable. :(
Part of me agrees with this, but I know how easily that would be abused. But at the same time... who cares if some extra pixels show up in the game? Clearly they don't care that some pixels vanished. So who cares if people exaggerate and abuse it to get stuff? Clearly, data integrity DOES NOT MATTER to Blizzard. So yeah, agreed.
My guild was affected. My guild is no longer active and is just my husband and I, but we've been playing since 2008. I was the type of person to give mounts and bags and mats to ppl or make something fun and randomly send it to ppl. Or just have what my other alts needed to build professions. No more. I can't trust their systems. I got rid of everything out of my reagent banks, personal banks, and will be paring down the warband bank if I get the urge to even log in again. So I sold what I had left and now I'm not even sure if the gold is safe. Trust is broken for sure. The bugs are getting worse and longer lasting. I don't know if they're hiring bad people or just not enough of them.
Oh no, I'm sorry. I totally understand about the trust being broken. Who knows if the gold is safe? Who knows if ANYTHING is safe anymore? Rep is already adversely affected. What's next, titles? Achievements? Levels? Mounts and pets? As to the cause, I think it's too few people trying to do too much too quickly, at the behest of the corporate Micro$oft overlords...

Oh no, I'm so sorry. Memories and letters like that are so precious and losing them has to be gut-wrenching. I'm really sorry. :( I can only hope our collective outrage will get something done.
Still playing? I hope not. I am not. I quit yesterday. Not taking any more of their BS. Moved over to FF 14 which i tried this week and like
I lost hundreds of stacks, tens of thousands of mats.
Devastated. Let's make some noise, let's make sure they can't just ignore us about this!
sadly backups don't work that way
@@ricardocintra5970 But they don't even need backups for a lot of stuff (that which is shown in the logs)? They can just look at the logs, see which items have been deposited, not removed/moved, and restore those.
Lost my mounts some unsold tcg mounts...
Oh wow, that's so awful. I'm so sorry. That's absolutely horrible -- here, have this pittance and then be grateful! Terrible. I'm sorry. :(
Sorry to hear that but are you still playing or did you walk?
I'm grateful that BlizzardWatch made mention of it in their latest podcast, at least: ua-cam.com/video/GVuAWYjXyZY/v-deo.html
And I'm so sorry for all that you lost. That is a huge amount and all I can say is my condolence.
yeah I lost so much stuff in multiple guild banks I use for storage... it sickens me when I look into those guild banks
Ugh, I can imagine. I'm so sorry. Part of one guild bank is bad enough, but stuff across multiple guild banks? Absolutely ridiculous. I'm sorry. I hope our collective voices can effect some kind of change.
Yup we had old collections in there things you will never see again :(
I'm so sorry. I hope that our collective voices will force some action. :(
The US bug forum post has been closed, so I guess we got our non-answer about whether anything else was coming in the mail, or if any official word was coming there…ever!
I feel so incredibly sad for the players affected by this. What the fuck.
Yeaaaaaah, pretty much the reaction of just about everyone I've spoken to about this! Appreciate your comment and sympathy here, thank you.
I'm sorry you're going through this too.
time is money friend. blizzard better have muh fuckin money *upset warlock noises*
Time IS money, friend. And it's super upsetting to see that our time and past investment in WoW means very little to Blizzard. :/
Right?? They can do A LOT, from automated restorations to manual ones. And they are CHOOSING not to.
The noise being made by the WoW streaming community about this is "deafening"
Something is not right and it stinks
@@GoddessPallasAthena Fit into the backpack and be worth about as much! 😡

Yeah, I'll see if I can't get some more momentum here.
You mean the soon to be locked, removed and dleted post as they are tryign to bury this now as fast as possible? That post? I quit. Forever. There wont be another blizzard anything in my life. I moved over the ff14 screw blizzard. I moved on from that abusive relatioship
Blizzard owes us far more than just a random sprinkling of a tiny fraction of what we lost. Unacceptable way to treat your customers!
Preach!
Still giving them money or you walked yet? If still playing then dont moan if it happens again . I dotn want to hear it
@@suminshizzles6951 Haha then done read the comments 😂
I absolutely, wholeheartedly agree. I'm so sorry you're also dealing with this. They DO need to make this right!
I'm sorry.
Absolutely sad. :(
I just have to ask: why the hell didn't you learn the mount? This TCG mount isn't for sale, is it?
@@Tamriella I did list it before years ago for gold cap. Its value has kind of gone well above that at this point. In any case, I never though it would auto-delete one day.
@@vengeance1 omg, I'm really sorry! I can feel your pain all the way here 😔
Thank you for making this video.
Such a great 20th anniversary present, an actual physical statue for 10 years, a guild bank wipe for the 20th. How far they have fallen.
I'm reminded of the coyote falling to his doom in any number of Roadrunner cartoons, frankly. That's how far they've fallen...
Sentimental value is still value. The players should be respected more than this.
Blizzard knows what the right thing to do is but they wont hire enough staff to fix everyone's issues.
Sadly, I think this is the case.
Bliz Being the Modern Bliz. I'm surprised they didn't offer to sell you back your own stuff in a bank restore for $100 or some such.
Hah! Thanks for the chuckle. That would be RIGHT up their alley for sure.
Thank you for your video!! Mine was my personal guild bank and I lost millions worth of mats from all expansions!!!
I love your title because that’s exactly what it feels like!
Normally I have to think about titles, but not this time...
I agree that they basically ignored it publicly because they were too busy with the new expansion and all of its issues.
I had thought someone had robbed me. Tons of pet's and such all gone. I'll keep an eye out but I had already figured I was SOL.
Someone did rob you...Blizzard.
I literally laughed out loud. Thanks for the chuckle.
I'm so sorry. Did you open a ticket? Did you get anything beyond the "we cannot restore" crap?
I don’t want to start any conspiracy theories… but I just wonder..
I mean, by all means, go ahead...
jmho Blizzard needs to refund the cost of years worth of real money subscriptions.
That wouldn't be ideal, but if they want to give me money for all the years I've played? I might just take it and then walk away.
Cheese??? Cheese?! That's absolutely ridiculous. I'm so sorry. And I fully agree, this is NOT the way a good business is run.
The question of what to do now is hard.
Sounds like one of the largest class action lawsuites is coming to blizzard. Havent checked guilds yet afraid to playing since the begining.
They sent me less then 6 stacks of what i had thats gone missing, its fucking pathetic their so called fix
Checked my second guild bank and they restored 14 items, they have restored nothing at all this shit is unacceptable, tons of shit i was gonna auction gone, tons of mats i was gonna use now that the changes to how we gain gear in the collection gone, tons of keep sakes and consumeable toys gone they need to fix this shit yesterday
Beyond pissed off with all i lost, it wouldnt be so bad if i didnt have to use two guild banks, warbound, void storage, multiple normal banks and crafting banks because they continue to forget this is 20years of gaming and we have 20years of stuff
I keep checking back on this video waiting for it to get thousands of views, but no so far :(
Hey, I'm not in it for the views, I'm not even monetized!
Blizz actually made a post we are not getting our stuff back! I'm very very 'disappointed' in that!
@@llaevigrof Ahhh, yes, the same lingo is right. The same, old canned messages -- including the same typos. It's depressing, really...
I used my guildbank the same way as you - a tab for each profession and some misc stuff and I'm just so heartbroken and angry over this issue and the way Blizzard handled it (or well, lack of handling it tbh...)
Also dissapointed in the bigger community sites and streamers not talking more about this, so thank you for helping to raise awareness on this issue!
They SAY guild banks are usable.
Blizzard CS used to be the gold standard. Now? It's the laughing stock.
This is quite possibly their biggest screw-up ever.
Completely agree. Data loss on this magnitude is basically inconceivable in this day and age.
I'm so sorry for your losses.
13 years of my friend's and I's items gone as well.
Brutal. I'm very sorry. You're not alone. I hope we can make enough noise that this ends up a very large topic of conversation.
Imagine putting your stuff in a warehouse, paying the rent each month for 15 years or more then coming back to an empty locker/unit/lot - company says "sorry your stuff was stolen by our employees, here's an expired IHOP coupon from 2003 as compensation"
The smell of bullshit is unbearable
Ahahahaha, you got me with the expired IHOP coupon from 2003. Thanks so much for the laugh. :)
But yes, that's pretty much what it's like.
@@vengeance1 Well, that is not just a colourful description, but a darn accurate one, too. Wild times we live in, I tell you.
And now the issue is…do you trust that this won’t happen again? Is all that storage now dead space?
There was a bug in mop remix that would delete all of your items including bags. Looks like that bug happened again for guild banks.
That's interesting. I played MOP Remix, but later on in the event and I never experienced this. Do you know if this was reported anywhere?
Lost 100% of all 7 tabs full of crafting mats, pets, recipes, etc. Years of collecting. We got back 14 goblin gliders. It sucks so much.
Oh wow. That's like... insult to injury. I'm so sorry for all your losses. :(
FYI: You can still get those dragon scales in BWL.
Somebody at Blizzard is sitting on a mountain of gold from all of these priceless artifacts.
You might not be wrong. :(
My entire guild bank got wiped, several tickets from blizzard later I've been told the handful of cloth is the best they can give me, and not anything I actually lost.
Today it's guild banks, tomorrow people will start losing characters.
Blizzard is so bad. It must be so easy to track back the logs of each guild bank but they just say "upsie daisy".
While it doesn't change the fact that you've lost so much, you can still get red, blue & worn dragon scales from skinning chromagus in BWL
Corporate greed is certainly what my thinking is. It's really, really awful.
I had so much stuff in my guild bank I forgot most of it, but I’ve been getting mail from Blizzard and the Postmaster. I wondered why.. I didn’t know this had happened. I guess I will go check my bank. I hope my 1-ring is still there !
Interesting! I hope your 1-ring is still there, as well as anything else you really value.
At least 50% of my bank is gone, but my 1-ring is still there. I’m missing mats, recipes, pets!
Biggest things I lost that I worked hard to get were Dragonswrath teragosas rest and shadowmorn both disappeared but still have the achievements for acquiring them would really like them back.
Our Horde guild lost hundreds of items. We got back 1 stack of silk cloth.
It's at the point they really need to take guilds word for what's missing and restore it based on merit if the database cannot be found.
