Just bought a pair so exited!

Just waiting to purchase some of these off of Amazon. I would have loved them at a wedding I was attending - my table was near the stacks and I swear I wanted to go postal every time the master of ceremonies picked up the mic. I had a "sonic hangover" the next few days, and my tinnitus was screaming at me at a lower end drone for the next few days too.
Also, would have loved them at a movie theatre. Yes, I already have tinnitus, but action movies, I swear are getting louder and louder. I think I'd keep them on me for movies, and loud areas in general..

Hey +astrangeone, sorry to hear of your tinnitus :( Being near loudspeakers and drum kits always put me on edge because they're so damn loud. Seriously don't know how people can attend nightclubs and constantly suffer sonic hangovers. Having a pair of earbuds on you is a great idea, i always do. Hopefully there's recovery for your condition, wishing you all the best.

Thank you! It's not bad, sometimes when I'm stressed my tinnitus says hello, but that's about it.

i wonder if it's even worth it at this point if i haven't started. Being in jazz bands, and playing saxophone and going to concerts for years, I am probably going deaf anyway,

Hey +Charlotte Cady, i completely know how you feel. I'm inclined to use them when it's insanely loud, however when its generally tolerable i decide not use them. Just have them in my bag just incase! :) All the best

If I were to start to begin playing the harmonica, which harmonica would be best to start with?

Hey Chase Harper, the harmonica I would highly recommend is the Suzuki Bluesmaster for beginners/intermediates and even advanced players after it’s warm-dark-powerful sound.
Blues Harmonica incorporates a variety of techniques with the most important being “bending”. Bending is what gives harmonica its unique bluesy qualities. Learning to bend takes significant time and experimentation, which puts much stress on the instrument; therefore you’d want one that can handle this pressure. The Bluesmaster is very forgiving when learning to bend, and is significantly easier to bend than other harmonicas. Once you’ve been familiarised with this technique, you will find it much easier to play on other harmonicas - promasters, manji, marine band, special 20.
I’ve had my Bluesmaster Set for 8 years, play them more than frequently and they still sound amazing. I made a demonstration video of this set where you can hear how various common key harmonicas sound: ua-cam.com/video/m8k-zRJr8MY/v-deo.html
That being said, I recommend a key of A Bluesmaster. If you want something that is durable and sounds raspier & brighter then I recommend the Manji. Nonetheless, for the price and quality of the Bluesmaster, it would be my first pick as a beginner.
Hope this helps, all the best :)
