Hey Braydon, I was the guy who recommended the Geau bag, glad you got a chance to check it out. The company's owner is very nice and genuine. I've had their Axiom Duffel 9-pack for 2 years and love it like it was the first day. Only bag that stores my size 15 shoes, paddles, balls, drilling accessories, and a bunch of other stuff in perfectly organized (adjustable) compartments. Even though it's super lightweight it's very durable, no signs of wear/tear.
Thanks for the rec! We did a video call together and he was super nice and seems very sharp. I'll keeping my eye on them. He sent me the duffle too but it was just too big for me ha. I'm don't think I could fill that up, even on paddle testing days when I have 5-10 paddles with me. I can see how an instructor or something would like it though to fit in bigger things like training tools and what not. Sounds like you do that with drilling accessories. The adjustable compartments in it is brilliant.
If the QD drama continues, can we get a segment on the next pod called “Quabacle Update?”.👌🏼🤣 Great pod as always you guys. Loved the laughter of the kiddos in the back too.
Hey just a piece of videography advice (I'm a full-time video/photo). Try to get your talents further from the wall and/or use softer (bigger) light diffusion to alleviate the harsh shadows on your wall by the logo. Specifically Kyle's close shot has it the worst. An overhead dome style softbox could soften up the wall-side of the face as well. I noice the light for Kyle is parallel with him, if it were parallel with you but lighting him it would actually soften his face shadow. Sorry, just my unasked for comment lol just trying to help out.
Thanks for the tips, that makes a lot of sense. I need all the help I can get with that kind of stuff. I wish I saw this before I did my interview crbn but will keep it in mind for future set rearrangements. It's a tighter space in general so I have work with those constraints but I know I can keep learning and improving how I use the space.
@@DinkSmashMedia I wouldn't be surprised if it came, I just know there was already drama and pointed comments toward Selkirk for getting litigious when they haven't done so yet. I am not a fan of Selkirk's current line of paddles, but I do live here in CDA and play with a lot of the Selkirk guys and they are all great people. So I just want the news regarding them to be accurate, and not spur on unwarranted scrutiny of the brand. There is plenty to scrutinize as is lol.
@ yeah Selkirk leadership definitely seems to be the good guys. I am all for them getting legal when their contracts aren’t respected. If you are getting paid you should honor your commitments. I got shipping notice of the 008 yesterday so I’m excited to try what everyone was using at the masters.

I think one thing you’re missing about the benefit of elongated paddles is the extra reach. Former/current tennis players such as myself hit a lot at the top half of the paddle face and need a lot of stability in the upper hoop. Haven’t hit with a standard or wide body paddle that had sufficient sweet spot and stability at the top
Hybrid shapes give you more reach than a widebody and are only a quarter of an inch shorter than an elongated. My argument is that a hybrid is enough length plus you get the benefits of more forgiveness and better maneuverability. And if you do want to weight it up then you don't have to use as much weight to get the same benefits as you would with more weight on a true elongated paddle.
Kyle … I recently came to the same thought … resets (all defense from transition) has more to do with winning than I thought before. Every time I watch ALW/Parenteau play Bright/Rohrabacher, the level of “keeping the point alive from defense in transition area” is clearly a main factor even at the pro level.
Need yall to do a experiment to see how much edge tape increases swing weight… electrical tape and actual edge tape see how much it adds onto the paddle!
If you watch that same match with Ben, you see a few shots where QD is trying to bag him. Totally thought Ben was in his rights to respond, only thing I saw wrong was he could’ve taken his eye with a shot like that. Go to the body

So I've been playing pickle ball for over 16 years and two years ago I switched back to a widebody so I went from Engage pursuit pro MX to the EX and my game is exponentially better and it's always been good. I'm a coach for nine years so thanks. Don't forget the wide bodies are way better at the net.
Me too switched to wide body from hybrid.my net game went up ,control ,spin .off center hits still going over and excellent twist weight last thing the hand fights were amazing
Regarding “superior paddle shape”: what if the trend of people moving to hybrid paddles from elongated to gain more sweet spot is going to be reversed in 2-3 years because paddle technology will continue to see stability increased? Basically I’m wondering if there is a point of diminishing return on sweet spot. For Kyle: if the size of sweet spots doubled due to technology improvements, would you have any desire to switch to a hybrid? So take the Shogun and the invader right now. If both of their sweet spots doubled in size, would that actually drive you back to Elongated? Personally I feel a huge advantage of the shape and swing momentum of elongated on shots like topspin dinks, slices and overheads. Right now I feel compelled to go hybrid because of the benefit in sweet spot and stability but I don’t need a sweet spot as large as a wide body. It’s exciting to see where paddle technology is headed! Thanks for another awesome podcast guys! Love your show!
"respect your contract" Selkirk only allowed the 008 at the last tournament, Q doesn't play with the 008... What comes around goes around and it's going around
Selkirk playing with their players’ ability to compete as a casualty of their fight with UPA-A. They literally submitted and got approved some 20 of their paddles but only wanted the 008 listed? Really put the players in a tough spot not being able to play with their normal paddles
